We were supposed to stay 2 days in Novotel Surabaya. We eventually extended for 2 more days... and now for a 5th night! Place is very quiet and is a kind of oasis in a bustling city. Pool is very nice. Staff has been very kind with our 7 years old daughter. Food is also good at fair price. Excellent quality for the price paid for night and breakfast. Highly recommended! ;-)

We love this hotel. Always a nice staycation. A resort style pool n surrounding. The receptionist was friendly. It was a fast check in as well. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast choices were superb. On weekends it went on until 11 am. Downside is they only have 3 floor stories n no lifts because it was an older building. On the other hand, it is not too crowded. Nice for a gateway. Overall it was a superb stay.

We had an excellent stay at Novotel in Surabaya for our recent Mount Bromo trip. It was just a night and the place which looked more like a resort bewitched me. Its family friendly with pools for all ages of children. We even tried our hands on in-hotel spa. Although my partner had a good one, my massaeur kept trying to chat me up and ask me personal questions. Other than this one glitch, i would recommend this place.

We only stayed for one night. The hotel was OK, nice and easy check-in. The hotel just needs a bit of TLC.

Air conditioner was not cold enough. The hot water pressure was very weak. The soap holder in the shower was old.

I stayed for 5 nights and i regret it a lot. 1. There was no bell boy and doorman in the front gate to assist the guests. They only assisted with my luggage after i have done checking in which i declined. 2. The room was okay, but there is a lot of mosquitoes in the room. I couldn’t sleep properly at night. Should have mosquito repellent beforehand 3. The breakfast service was very lacking, the F&B staff were rude! The restaurant seemed very much understaffed. During peak hours, i barely got my seat. There were only 2-3 staff serving like 100 guests. So you can imagine the crowd and the mess. 4. F&B staff were reluctant to serve, and somewhat slow in service. I even had to eat with many soiled plates from previous guest’s still on my table. Yet, the staff did not care much about it. 5. We need to queue quite a long time just to order egg from the egg station, since there was only one cook that prepare for many guests. I think the management should really do something about this. I hardly see any manager in charge around to clear and make sure everything goes well. I can even see some guests are throwing complaints on the spot to the staff. During the peak holiday season, the management should know better about the staffing.

Staff was very friendly; buffet breakfast was good. Facilities were adequate and in reasonably good state of repair. I was unhappy with the bathroom-shower floor quite slippery maybe not scrubbed. There was a ‘ring’ in the toilet bowl. The sheets and towels not clean enough.

Overall a good place to stay. This is my fav here in Surabaya bc the gardens and pool are pleasant. The staff is good, food is average although wifi is free and room service is 24hr.

Ive stayed at this particular Novotel many times and its been an average place to stay and the food is average as well. This stay has been my worst yet. It seems they rent the pool and garden area out for parties etc.., and let me just say the music was so ear deafening that i could not rest yesterday or last night. I would think they would impose some sort of db limit for respect to hotel guest but they do not because i called and asked. Not sure i will recommend this place to anyone needing a relaxing stay. Even before i checked out the music was blairing with another group just outside my room. Terrible experience this time around.

Everything was alright. We’re quite pleased with the rooms in the family suite, with 3 bathrooms. Need to take care of dust at not so obvious places.

Had a great time with family. Booked 4 rooms. Breakfast buffet is awesome! Beautuful pool and garden and bulding. Had a free horse ride for kids. Took alot of beautiful pictures.

Our stay was very pleasant. A friendly family-hotel with all facilities catering to the young children as well as to the seniors. Well worth the it.

Overall good experience, good clean room well appointed. only one power socket worked and the air con didn't until the second day after several complains.

The room condition is very bad as comfort hotel of Novotel. It's very old interior and dark, sower are broken and dirty.

We arrived in the driving tropical rain in a less than classy taxi-van. When we pulled up in front of the hotel, I was a bit shocked at what a beautiful property it was and felt a little embarassed at our arrival vehicle. The staff was gracious and friendly. Our room was beautifly appointed although the carpet could have used a bit of cleaning (some spotting that perhaps was beyond carpet cleaning?). The stunning pool offered a wonderful place to get refreshed after three weeks of tromping through the tropics. The food was okay, nothing really special, although they were really trying. Service was above average. The location was the only thing that could have been better for us. We wanted a place close to the airport as we had an early morning flight. Because we left very early in the morning we had no problem with traffic, but the ride was a bit longer than we would have envisioned from the hotel listed as the closest available to the airport. All in all, I would give it 4 out of 5 possible stars. I was a bit shocked that after the hotel added the taxes and credit card fees, the price of the room jumped by 22%. I had thought that booking through a US site, with the price quoted in dollars, I would have had the price locked in, my mistake.
