It was great to have somewhere friendly and comfortable to stay in Orton for one night while walking on the Coast-to-Coast route. The hotel also provided dinner and a bar, and we had a very spacious room and a good night's sleep.
Breakfast was somewhat minimal, although there was some nice fresh fruit. The wifi wasn't working, although that may have just been a temporary glitch.

The location is good for walking the Coast to Coast Path. The bedroom was acceptable but basic. The evening meal was basic but acceptable.
The hotel needs a thorough refurbishment. The ensuite bathroom was very poor. Breakfast was included in the price but was only continental. The description should have stated that. Walkers need a cooked breakfast! The main staircase was cold and in poor state of decoration. The staff numbers need to be increase to provide an acceptable service.
