We had a wonderful stay at Lyzzick Hall and came away feeling that we had discovered somewhere rather special.
The hotel itself is beautiful — full of character and charm, wonderfully decorated and exceptionally well maintained. Everything felt considered without being overly formal, and the whole property was spotlessly clean. There is a lovely sense of warmth about the place, and of course the setting, surrounded by the Lake District countryside with those wonderful views, is difficult to beat.
Nothing!

Location and quality of food
Room 28 out of the way and convoluted access

overall the hotel and staff were brilliant. the staff were very attentive and went way beyond to make our stay feel special. The food in both the restaurant and bar were exceptional. the bar food was basic ie burgers and pizza but were equally as good we had bar menu one night and restaurant meal the 2nd night.
the squeaky bed was a bit of a disturbance during the night

The position of hotel on hill side. Beautiful countryside
New refurbishment. Soul has been taken out of building.
Food was not very good.
Breakfast overcooked - couldn't cut bacon. Poached eggs too hard
