Short break in a quality apartment in a lively lakeside town.

The apartment is in an excellent location in the town square. Despite the staging of an open swimming competition just outside the building at the weekend, with associated very loud music and microphone powered announcements, the sound proofing was up to the task. The apartment was spacious and spotless throughout with large bright rooms, a well equipped kitchen and a toilet with a large shower cubicle and very good quality towels. The bedroom had good storage with a very comfortable bed. The provided information pack was useful and comprehensive. Stephanie the host was superb. She could not have been more efficient and pleasant, answering our few queries almost instantly and letting us leave later on departure day, as our flight home was in the evening and as no guests were checking in that day. Despite the minor issues itemised below. and also assuming that the air conditioning issue is only temporary, I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

There was obviously a problem with the inbuilt air-conditioning system, which simply did not function. However, it had been replaced by two excellent portable units, Unfortunately these required extraction hoses to be suspended out of open windows. Thus, when in operation, they negated the excellent soundproofing and in the evening would have also attracted a few unwanted insects and consequently, we seldom used them. A very minor issue was the lack of a shelf in such a large shower cubicle, so shampoos and soaps had to be laid on the floor. The only other annoyance was the rather lacklustre 'welcome pack'. I would have expected an apartment advertised as 'luxury' to provide a small but effective starter pack. We were provided with just two toilet rolls, two coffee pods and two small bottles of water, Added to that and presumably abandoned by previous tenants, was a small selection of bottles, mostly virtually empty (oils vinegars etc.) and some very out of date herbs. In most other (even non-luxury) apartments we have almost invariably found a small selection of coffee pods, milk, oil, vinegar, cling film and kitchen roll. I appreciate that there is no requirement to provide these items, but they cost so little and yet make such a difference to the convenience for guests on arrival by removing the frustration of needing to go back out to find shops in order to acquire such basics.
