Great experience to stay on a Dutch barge
The gang plank was a little scary at low tide but we managed despite being more senior guests!

Wonderful chance to stay on an amazing old barge right in the centre of Sandwich. The barge is very comfortable, surprisingly spacious and was a joy to stay on. The owners provided plenty of information and were very helpful when roadworks made parking problematic.
There’s nothing we didn’t like but people with limited mobility need to be aware that the gangplank can be very steep at times, as are the stairs into the galley. And there’s limited headroom on one side of the bedroom.

Perfect size, great amenities and brilliant location. A wonderful night away for my birthday. Accommodating hosts, who communicated well beforehand and arranged for different parking nearby, due to local road closures. Great digital boat guide, with lots of helpful local information too.
The gangway was very steep at low tide, which can’t be helped but it did make taking luggage off in the morning a little challenging for me.

We enjoyed the experience of being on a tidal river, as it was something we hadn't done before.
We enjoyed ( weather permitting) being sat on the deck having a glass of wine.
