Awesome place for families!

Miguel was a superb host! We had a very good time! At Calheta Beach you can get some very good food for a very fair price. But we had also some good snacks in the evening in the close by snackbar! They were super friendly to our kids.

On one or two nights the dogs from the neighborhood were barking which was a bit annoying, but it was just short time and all over the rest of our stay we slept very good.

Superb

The host was very helpful with our late arrival. The house is easy to find. Location's great: some bars within walking distance, short drive to Calheta, relatively short and easy drive to the north. The house is very spacious, perfect for bigger families.

The house was a bit cold on couple of evenings, fortunately blankets were provided.

Nice house with a great pool.

Check-In and Check-Out were smoothly, we were allowed to check-in a bit early and check-out a bit late for which we're really thankful. Friendly and direct contact to the owner of the cottage and to the housekeeper. The cottage is in a pretty quiet spot, not many car sounds, a few dogs and chickens in the neighborhood but they weren't any problem for us (not too loud or so). In walking distance are a few "snack bars" with good food and great prices (especially Bar Corujeira is a recommendation for lunch). The pool is great, easily large enough and very clean. The cottage was very clean and equipped with everything you need for a good holiday.

The only thing that wasn't perfect was the insect situation around the house, a few cockroaches, many flies, some ants and also many lizards which used every small gap to sneak into the house. This made ventilation of the house in the late/early hours impossible because of the insects that were attracted by the light but also at daytime ventilation was limited if you didn't want the house full of insects. I know that in southern countries and with nature around the cottage insects are normal and unavoidable but maybe an insect net at the windows at the back of the house could help a bit.
