Located in Barnstead, this attractive house for $278 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Gather with friends or family at our charming, 3-bedroom, lakefront home on Locke Lake. Cathedral ceilings, pine-clad walls and a wood-burning, brick fireplace give this open-concept, saltbox-style home a roomy but cozy, log cabin feel for that hard-earned family vacation or romantic retreat. Don't want to miss the big game? Light the fireplace, cuddle up on the luxurious leather sectional sofa, and enjoy your favorite sporting event or movie on the wall-mounted 46” flat panel TV. SW exposure provides plenty of sunshine for our private sandy beach, oversized deck and living/dining area. Bring your boat along for some water skiing, tubing or fishing, and moor it to our private dock for the duration of your stay. Shoot some hoops, or make s'mores while relaxing around our lakeside firepit!! Winter sports your thing? We have miles of snowmobile or x-country skiing trails nearby, or you can venture to one of the local mountain resorts for some downhill skiing/sledding. Locke Lake Colony: Our private lake community boasts several on-site amenities, available to both owners and guests alike. Included are two(2) outdoor community swimming pools w/ on-duty lifeguards(summer months only), five(5) public beaches w' playground equipment for kids, boat launch facilities, tennis courts and a 6-hole golf course. We LOVED this house! We'd hoped for skating/skiing but weather did not cooperate. We enjoyed many cozy fires, movies, playing pool & games and taking polar plunges in the 36 degree lake! Only drawbacks were.. beds hard (husband had to sleep on couch) and not much nearby (i.e. coffee shops either not open or closed early a few days a week). Will recommend to other families.

For the most part everything was ok except for the upstairs bathroom tub had a water drip and the toilet tank constantly made noise. That made it difficult for a good nights rest.

This is a fabulous lake house with kayaks, canoe, own sandy beach and dock to enjoy the picturesque New Hampshire Lake setting. We were thrilled to hear and see the Loon couple on the lake. They greeted us most mornings and provided beautiful pictures for our memory album! Sunsets were amazing to add the perfect New England touch.
The home is lovely and you can tell this is a well loved family gathering place.
Kevin, our host, was available as needed and made our stay welcoming.

I was looking for a place where I could relax while my grandkids played safely and this was the place. The property was beautiful with plenty to do. I was a little nervous that the water wouldn’t be warm enough this early in the season but my husband, sons, and grandchildren stayed in the lake the entire week. Lots of fun was had by all. We would definitely return!

The house is awesome. You can not beat the water view with a fire pit. The little area of sand by the water looking at the water slide and diving board. The couch inside is super comfortable. 10/10 would recommend for a cool outdoors get away on the lake.

The pictures don't do justice to how great this place is. We were welcomed with every special touch we could imagine and the house was equipped with all we needed. Kevin is a wonderful Host, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable and very special.

My wife and I spent 7 days at this lakefront property and it was everything we needed. It was extremely peaceful and had all of the supplies needed for us to cook our own meals. You definitely feel private, but still close enough to any stores or sightseeing you could possibly want. We look forward to coming back again in the future!

Kevin was a fantastic host! The location of Lock Lake Escape was ideal for us as it served as our base for 12 days to tour southern Maine, New Hampshire (top to bottom), and the Boston/Salem area during the peak weeks of Autumn. Every evening we were able to return and relax from our daily excursions, enjoy dinner, and a warm fire in the fireplace. Kevin, and his family had gone to great lengths to ensure our stay would be comfortable and positively delightful. It definitely was the New England Autumn vacation we had been looking forward to for many years!

Our family of grandparents, parents and young children enjoyed a fun peaceful time at this lovely, well-equipped home. The kayaks were a big hit and being just after Labor Day the lake was quiet and the water still warm for swimming. The kitchen had everything necessary to cook and the second refrigerator made storing extra food quite easy. Alton and Pittsfied are just a short drive away when we chose to eat out.
The sunsets from the deck are a lovely way to end your day. Highly recommend!!

We enjoyed a great week at Kevin’s property. The homes location on the water is fantastic. There is an awesome fire-pit, tons of outdoor seating, beach area, kayaks, new grill, dock with slide, etc. The sandy beach area is great and my 9 month old daughter had a blast splashing in the water. Thanks for a fantastic vacation.

The house was very clean, and the owners stocked the kitchen with many essentials.
A few of us had to work partial days remotely and we had no issue with the WiFi.
My 4 adult children (mid-20s), husband and I enjoyed using the provided canoe and kayaks. There was a tetherball set in the front yard, and a pool table in the basement the boys used. The tennis courts were a short drive away and we got out there a couple of times.
My husband brought a small aluminum motor boat. The property had a small wooden launch for easy access into the water.
There was a small beach at the house on the edge of the lake. The girls enjoyed laying out there, reading their books.
The house was positioned well for sunsets, and had a nice outdoor fire pit. We had a campfire every night and enjoyed making s’mores.

Wonderful family retreat!
The home was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The quiet location worked well as a home base for the activities we were going to in the local area. We spent many hours curled up on the big couch and at the dining room table talking and looking out at the lake. Beautiful!
