The villa was lovely- clean, spacious and accommodated our family of six. We enjoyed dining at Osteria 20 right next door. We relied on public transportation- buses, ferries and walked to restaurants nearby. The views from the villa are amazing! Carate Urio is a great location if you’re looking for more of a quiet residential experience and avoiding high tourist areas. Loved our stay!

Very nice, spacious apartment in a beautiful location.
Generally clean except for: considerable dust in ceiling vents and under furniture, ants under kitchen sink, soiled pan inside oven, and unexpected finding of a visibly-soiled towel behind washing machine.
Could benefit from better directions for heating system and location of trash/recycling bins. Restaurant next door under new management and states all parking spaces belong to restaurant, which was inconsistent with the instructions we were given.

We had a wonderful stay in July. The lake views were great and we could walk most everywhere. The only thing that would have made it better if there was parking available.

The best aspects of this property were the beautiful lake view, the quiet location, and the excellent communication from the hosts. The area is peaceful with very little traffic, making it a relaxing place to stay on Lake Como.Unfortunately, several issues impacted our experience. The most significant was the lack of air conditioning. As an American traveler, I did not realize this was something I needed to specifically verify, and it was not clearly highlighted in the property overview. During warmer weather, this made the apartment uncomfortable.The towels and bedding were also outdated and not comfortable. The linens and towels were rough. In addition, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in very small plastic pouches that were inconvenient to use and felt inconsistent with the price of the property.Another drawback was the lack of storage and counter space in the bathrooms. There was nowhere to set toiletry bags or personal items, and adding shelving or other storage solutions would make a big difference for guests.Prospective visitors should also know that Carate Urio is a very small village with limited restaurants, shopping, and activities. For more dining and entertainment options, you will likely need to take a taxi to nearby towns such as Moltrasio or Cernobbio.While we appreciated the view and the hosts' responsiveness, the lack of AC/ the overall comfort level make it difficult for us to recommend this property to other guests.
