The food menu needs to be expanded.

The ambiance is great, enjoyed the fresh air and the birds. The staff was very helpful and kind.

The buildings and shades are a bit rundown, though inside the rooms was clean and well kept.

Friendly staff, nice quiet place

The staff at Samuka are very good and caring. They made our stay very enjoyable. The food was also very good and prepared to our request.

The lake flies are a nuisance.

Uganda offshore

Great location far from the crowds and the noise, on the remote island full of nesting birds (cormorants, egrets, weavers and pelicans). Nice, traditional huts that need a bit of renovation. Helpful personnel and a boat provided by the hotel at a lower than market price.

Food service could be improved: long waiting, poor quality of breakfasts.

An escape from modern life

The small island is located in Lake Victoria a short distance from the start of the Nile and is a total escape from the world. It allowed two days of relaxing from modern life in the pearl of Africa

You need manage expectations as everything comes to the hotel island by the same boat you arrive on, with hindsight I wish I had brought a travel fishing rod and small binoculars. Anything you need remember to pack.

Abends kamen die Pelikane zum Übernachten direkt auf den Baum vor dem Zimmer und morgens gingen sie wieder. Der Mountainlissard lebt auf der kleinen Insel und hat mich einige Male überrascht… die Insel ist voller Vögel.. ich war nur mit Hut unterwegs…

Wenn kein Wind geht, dann wird man von Unmengen Tagesmücken umschwirrt… zum Glück stechen sie nicht… aber sie sind dann überall.
