Amberesque B&B

We recently stayed at Amberesque for 4 days on our 2 week winter road trip driving from Newcastle, NSW, to Adelaide, SA. Amber & Shannon, owners of Amberesque, are most welcoming hosts. Their grace set the scene for our beautiful stay. Amber was so helpful with Rutherglen information to help plan our days & nights. She curated our stay with excellent suggestions to suit our interests. The B&B, housed in a historic bank building, has been incredibly well preserved & is appointed beautifully. Our room was luxuriously furnished & extremely comfortable. We slept like babies. Our ensuite was large with luxury amenities provided. Amberesque has a number of floors with many cozy areas to relax in. Even when other guests were staying, the layout made it easy to find our own privacy. We loved relaxing in the enclosed balcony upstairs lounge, watching movies in the downstairs projector film room, and sitting by the wood fireplace in the lounge. A unique highlight is the guests' pantry housed inside the historic old bank vault. The garden is lovely. The breakfasts Amber presented each morning were extraordinarily good. We highly recommend Amberesque for a unique, luxurious, and truly beautiful stay.

The location was perfect right in the town centre. We had a 3 night stay for the June long weekend to attend the Roam festival. Amber's local knowledge of the area is fantastic, her tips of where to go and visit was spot on. The B & B she runs is Amazing, all the special touches make it so memorable. Complimentary wine and cheese platter to enjoy. The home cooked breakfast every morning, was delicious, with all local ingredients used, along with her general chatter makes it so special. The rooms are cosy and perfectly decorated to suit the Region. The premises were previously a bank. The accommodation is perfect for 2 couples wanting to explore the area. Perhaps tea and coffee in the room rather than on the communal balcony

The local is central yet quiet. The old bank is luxuriously homey and the host Amber is one of the most friendly and easy going I have ever stayed with. There are 2 king rooms with ensuite upstairs with a delightful back covered balcony with a lovely view. Great place to have an evening drink. Down stairs is the lounge/ dining area with fire place, Chesterfields and lots of lovely touches. Great record collection that we were encouraged to use (and did) . We stayed 2 nights and had the place to ourselves selves the first night. We asked our friends to pop in for a night cap and cheese platter - ( generously provided by host) which really topped off the excellent wedding we had attended that evening. Another couple were staying the next night - but we hardly saw or heard a thing. Plenty of room to stay in or out of each other’s way. The amazing value is particularly with the breakfast. Made to order, lots of choice including the time you want it. It was really delicious and generous. Freshly squeezed OJ, eggs from the hens in the garden, bacon, mushrooms, sweet roasted tomatoes, local sausages and relish. Choices aplenty so we’ll be back to try more. Honestly just easy and lovely.
