Situated in Madison, this charming house for $269 per night is a great option for your next break. This beautiful "renovated ranch" is located in the heart of Hip Donelson, a treasured area of Nashville. The kitchen features Corian countertops and stainless steel appliances including a gas stove, and opens to the light-filled dining area and living room. Nestle in front of the remote-controlled gas fireplace on a chilly evening or spend a relaxing time in the hot tub on the back patio. Enjoy the expansive back yard where you'll most likely spot deer in the distance nibbling the grass. Make yourself at home in the comfortable beds (two queen-sized beds and one full-sized bed on the street level) and take time to savor a nice, hot bath in the clawfoot tub in the street level bath or wash off the remains of the day in the updated shower in the lower level bath. You'll also find a large living area on the lower level featuring a very large wall-mounted television to catch games or a movie. There is also a beautiful sleeping area on the lower level with another queen-sized bed.

We stayed at this property between Christmas and New Years on our first trip to Nashville. The house is big and lovely, and our teens enjoyed the hot tub. The location was convenient for getting to Broadway and the Opry. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return again!!

The friends we were meeting in Nashville had a last minute change of plans so I asked the owner for earlier check in and they were quite accommodating. We only had issues with working the TVs (and my husband is a tech guy) as the instructions were incorrect and there were no remotes but the owner thankfully was available to help us through the process over the phone. Beds were very comfortable and the dog park was less than a 5 minute drive. Beautiful area of Nashville.

Liked the bathrooms a lot. Room to spread out. Beds were comfortable. Arrangements for pets was very good. Dining table and kitchen island very good. Liked the hot tub a lot. Garage entrance worked well. The towel supply and laundry nice. The surface areas of home were satisfactorily clean. But, especially, the kitchen window needs cleaning and maintenance.
Needed more comfortable seating in upstairs living room. Very disappointed that gas fireplace didn’t work. Needed lightbulbs, better tv watching arrangements. Bring passwords for tv viewing! Kitchen needs some organization- pot rack great! Only one dish towel. Need a second outside trash can and garbage pickup schedule.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and it’s a good place to stay if one is satisfied with basics. The price was good for the space.

Pros: Houses location is great. Beautiful park to walk very close to house. Neighborhood was nice. Close to opry. Uber ride to Broadway was only around $15 every time we went. We were there with my family. Each couple basically had there own floor. That worked out very well. There was a fenced in area for dog to run. House had an oversized yard. Cons: House needs love. The owner needs to spend money to clean, paint and fix it up. Everywhere you looked it needed to be cleaned or painted. Above sink in kitchen had mildew & spiderwebs. Main floor Shower is awkward to get into and move in. The shower also needs cleaned and new liners. Back porch was dirty and needed updated. This house has lots of potential. Needs a serious cleaning and refresh

All of the pervious comments about being dirty, the mold and the smell of mildew when you get in have stayed the same. We just left in October. The hot tub wasn't clean either. It had a smell to it when the jets got turned on. And when we turned them off, there was a dirty ring left around the sides when the bubbles went down.

Old cobwebs everywhere full of dead bugs; most noticeably in the kitchen. Bathroom sink clogged, A/C condensation dripping from ceiling in bathroom onto tile floor (which caused a slip and fall), overfull garbage cans when we arrived (and were still overflowing when we left 6 days later) with the stench and flies that goes with them. Very disappointed.

Of many Vrbo’s rented over the years, this was the dirtiest house and worst host.
Insects, dust & dirt were in every corner of every room. Gnats stuck in cobwebs on ceiling in dining rm & all over window sills. Gnats stuck to the grease on stove hood vent & all over the kitchen cabinets. Had to clean before we cooked. Black mold mentioned by a previous renter is still above sink. Floor under bathtub, all beds & closets very dirty. Shower curtain liners should be replaced with each renter, they were disgusting. Liners touch you while showering. Master bdrm headboard had finger prints in layer of dust. Amenities list paper towels, pot holders & dish towels provided, but they were not. Only 1/2 a paper towel roll was there, and we had to buy more cuz we ran out. Bath towels had holes in them. And here’s the best part…
Accidentally left my Bluetooth speaker hanging from clock in the living rm. Contacted James same day to let him know. Asked if he could ship to me. He said he wld have cleaning crew check & get back to me. This was on Sun. After not hearing from him for several days, I reached out again on Wed. He said no update from cleaning crew. He asked me what I left behind again even though all info was in text thread. Had to call him on Fri morning to ask for update again. He said “oh, the cleaning crew said they did not find it-sorry.” I said I know it was left there cuz we listened to music the night before we left. In frustration, I said I was disappointed that he waited so long to react to my request & the cleaning crew must’ve taken it, because I knew exactly where it was left. James then proceeded to yell that I was falsely accusing his cleaning crew of taking the speaker. And, it was not them, it cld have been the next group that stayed in the house. I told him I was disappointed that he didn’t at least check with the next group that rented the house. He also proceeded to tell me that it was my fault, he had a death in the family, and my speaker was not a priority for him. He then hung up on me. Same afternoon he texted that the cleaning crew found my speaker. He did not even apologize for lying to me that morning! However, in the spirit of human decency, I thanked him & asked what to do next to get shipped. He did’nt respond until Mon & then gave me less than 4 hrs to Venmo shipping money. He said cuz of how I treated him, he was done & disposed of the speaker. Nice customer service, right? Caution to anyone who rents from this guy!

Extremely Dissapointed
We’ve stayed in many vrbo places in the past, this one this one however was unacceptable. The house reeked of mildew, the shower had black mold and mildew built up in it, the air return was disgustingly filthy, the refrigerator was missing shelves, no towels or wash cloths in the kitchen, with limited utensils (silverware, pans, dishes, etc.) only 3 chairs at the table. The hot tub was not clean, and the patio chairs and area we’re unkempt, You were only able watch the TV if you downloaded an app, because there are no remotes. We cut our stay short and left a day early because one guest has asthma and kept coughing . The host James Liles was rude and can only be described as condescending. I could go on and on…..Extremely disappointing!

James was great as I was preparing Thanksgiving dinner and asked if they had a crock pot and strainer and one was waiting for us at check in. The pictures of the house are mostly accurate. The dining room table that is there now is MUCH better than the picture - it is large enough to seat 8. The only thing that was a bit inaccurate is that I assumed based on the pictures and that it was a ranch that it was handicap accessible. It is not. There are very roughed in stone steps leading to the front area with no handrail. And the bathroom on the main floor just has a clawfoot tub/shower. So if you have older guests this is NOT the place for you. The basement is a walk out and guest can come in that way but then would need to use very steep stairs to get to the main level. Ironically the shower in the basement is more friendly for older guests. This house is in a wooded area so you should expect some bugs in the walk out basement section. The house was very clean, with the exception of the window about the sink that doesn't look like it's been touched for years and in the basement the cleaning company clearly doesn't vacuum around or underneath the furniture. The floors in the house were very clean and there were plenty of towels. The hot tub was easy to use. The fenced in area for the pets out back is amazing. The only downfall is if you had a dog who is not able to do stairs, you have to walk them from the front yard to the back. All of the bedrooms are very spacious and private. The house and neighborhood are very quiet at night. The only recommendation I would make for the backyard is to get a bigger table outside for socializing. The kitchen has plenty of prep space and we cooked every day. The location is very nice as it's easy to get downtown and 5 minutes to get over to the Opryland hotel and/or mall. The house has been nicely updated and with the exception of the front porch light being out, in great shape!
