As usual the staff was good and room was nice and as expected.
Aloft Dubai. My love for this property spans for at least 10 stays thus far. This time it was different and my concern was breakfast. The breakfast restaurant is closed for maintenance/renovation (no word on booking.com for this, i.e. closed facilities). As a consequence, the breakfast was taking place in the adjacent cafe but oh boy it was a butchered one. 1/3 of the options of the usual brkf buffet was gone (down to the infused water with fruits), some items were replaced by clearly low cost ones (ham, cheese), nuts were missing, no usual avocado toast (because they didn't have avocado) and when I made the mistake to ask for gluten free bread I was met with a "sorry we don't have". I go to hotels (and accordingly rate them) for 2 base services. Sleep and food. The sleep side was the usual good one, the food side was a disaster. I got so disappointed that I checked out, got in my car, drove over to the neighbour Holiday Inn and enjoyed a decent-for-the-price-range brkf (it was triple in size and had gluten free items, I dare say that it matched the brfk buffets of it's bigger brother, the Crowne Plaza). Why Aloft? Please fix yourself.
