Our 10 days stay was very relaxing and beautiful from beginning to end. Our landlord kindly looked after the place and us and his shepherd dog was a friendly fellow who sometimes visited us. The villa is well equipped, the kitchen very well stocked and the terrace amidst the olive trees is gorgeous. The place is very suitable if you want to explore the surroundings of Kalamata. A car is important to reach the sights and the beaches. Day trips to the bay of Navarino, the waterfalls of Polilimnios, to the castles in Methoni and Koroni on the western finger of the Peloponnese were very rewarding. The excavations and reconstructions of Old Messini are worth a journey alone and bring ancient Greece to life. Kalamata has many beautiful squares and a great archeological museum. The old road to Mistras offers magnificent views of the sea and countryside. The museum about the olives in Sparta is very well done.

The location of Villa Eleni suited my purpose extremely well. I was travelling with my dog and wanted somewhere she could be free in a garden. Stavros accommodated this request and was welcoming and helpful. It is comfortable and homely. If I have to go to Kalamata again for the same purpose I may well stay there again.
I would suggest that the bedroom is decorated fairly soon to bring it up to the standard of the rest of the property.
