Bring your bike for nice winding roads and water views. This is a pleasantly old and proud Maine community with its own library, school, fire department, rescue ambulance and is serviced by the Knox County Sheriffs Department. For your convenience, there are 3 churches located in the St. George area. Port Clyde Christian Church, Port Clyde Baptist Church, and the Ridge Church. One-third of all Maine lobsters come from this county: Knox, named after George Washington's Chief Artillery Officer in the Revolutionary War of 1776. You can learn about him on the peninsula, as well as enjoy programs offered all season at Montpelier, the Knox mansion, and museum. Adventurous local and wharf dining, Wyeth art tours by land and water, Monhegan Island ferry adventures to see Maine seabirds including puffins and American Bald Eagles, picnicking at Marshall Point Lighthouse, and good ice cream are all landmark features of nearby Port Clyde village. Provided for your convenience are initial supplies of the following: linens, bath towels, washcloths, hand towels and beach towels, your first tank of propane for the fire pit and gas grill, dish soap, dishwashing soap, hand soap and laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, basic cable, wireless internet and a home phone (long distance is not included). This location has a DVD player in the living room. While we make every effort to assure the accuracy of this listing, as well as the condition of equipment and quality of provided services, we make no implied guarantee of connectivity for wireless internet or services provided by a third party. That being said, we will do everything in our power to remedy any situation as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your understanding. Here are some things people visiting Maine need to know in advance: Cell phones: Although coverage is getting better, there are some places where cell phones don't get good reception. Chances are you will have service, but just in case, make sure you leave the number of the house you are renting with those who may need to get in touch with you. Weather: If you have heard it once, you've heard it a hundred times: if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. It can be hot in Rockland and cool in Port Clyde so make sure to pack a variety of clothes — from a bathing suit to a sweater for cool evenings. Check out the current local weather at www.weather.com and intellicast.com. Bugs : A lot of people ask us if we have mosquitoes...we sure do. But they aren't huge and they don't ruin a vacation. Bring some repellent, or pick some up at the local general stores and you will be fine; usually, you won't even notice them. Dogs : We love dogs around here, but each town has their own rules about pets. Make sure to look for signs stating if dogs are allowed and always have them on a leash. And if they leave anything behind, please pick it up. Not a fun surprise when you are exploring the beautiful shoreline. You can also be fined for not picking up after your four-legged friend. Raccoons, and other annoyances: You probably have them too, but raccoons can make you regret last night's lobster dinner. No one wants to pick up old, smelly shells that have been cast out onto the lawn by these cute, but curious and disastrously messy, little guys. So please don't put off placing the trash in the secure trashcans provided. You can find all of this information in the welcome book! Water: Most coastal homes have wells that are hand dug. The water has been tested and is safe to drink, but some guests prefer bringing bottled water. Particulates, discoloration and iron taste are not uncommon. Periwinkle Shore Beach House is a Saturday-to-Saturday rental year-round.

We had an amazing time at the Periwinkle Cottage in Port Clyde. The house was fabulous and so well quipped and appointed . Furnishing great and loved the gas fireplace
for our New Year's Week Stay! Communication with Property Manager was wonderful. I rate this property A++. We will be back!

Our second stay at Periwinkle shore was great. A quiet escape with beautiful waterfront views and a well manicured yard. Host is very communicative and helpful.

We loved the property, great privacy at the end of a dead end road, the peaceful view of the water, the town of Port Clyde and its convenience to Rockland and Camden, and we spent an afternoon on Monhegan Island, which is always a great day trip. The house was clean and well-stocked, and the beds were comfortable. Veronika was extremely responsive to all questions prior to the trip, and once we checked in everything was smooth sailing for the entire week. And of course there's The Dip Net, and the beach over on Drift Inn Road which the pups loved. And our fave restaurant in Maine (or anywhere for that matter), Primo in Rockland.

This was our 2nd year staying at one of the properties managed by Veronika. We loved our stay at Periwinkle. The house had everything you needed for our stay. Extremely clean and the grounds were beautiful along with the breathtaking views. We enjoyed watching the fishing boats. Plus going down and getting our fresh, uncooked lobsters right at the docks in the afternoon for our dinner. The dock allowed for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and more. The hot tub added a huge bonus!! We enjoyed sitting around the fire at night too!!
One suggestion would be to provide bikes to use during the week. Its hard to travel as far as we did with bikes attached to the car. Can't wait to visit one of their properties in the future.

We loved sitting on the back porch watching the activity in the channel and viewing the beautiful garden. The house, garden, and pier/dock were perfect. There were also so many wonderful things to do. We went kayaking and saw porpoises and seals. We hiked outside of Camden. We also took the puffin cruise which was a big hit and the ferry to Monhegan island. We went to the Farnsworth Art Museum, thrift shopping, and restaurants in Rockland and Camden. There were too many interesting activities to complete in one visit.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed at. The house and surrounding backyard and patio are just gorgeous. The house was very comfortable and had everything one would need for a nice stay. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t want to leave!

Our family had a wonderful week spent at this beautiful house in idyllic Port Clyde. It was everything we envisioned and then some. The house itself was exactly as advertised, and was the perfect size for our family. Its actually larger than it appears in the listing, and a very comfortable property for an extended stay.
The star of the show is definitely the front yard, hot tub, great deck, and the dock / boat house right on the harbor. We had a blast exploring the rocky coastline and watching the boats as they came and went each day. Its a very quiet location, and Port Clyde is tucked away from the other more touristy locations further up the coast. There was even an Osprey nest with two babies that we could see from the deck, what a treat!
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend some time in the area, you will not be disappointed. It was actually better than we were anticipating, which was a real treat.

Looking out over the water from the dock, the lawn, the deck, hot tub, or the dining room table, time slowed down and relaxation kicked in. The large island in the kitchen made meal prep a social hour. It's a wonderful property

Perfect stay in Port Clyde
My family and I enjoyed an amazing stay in Port Clyde while staying at this property. The star of the show is the amazing view accessed by a great deck off the house and also by a boat dock and pier. We spent hours watching the activity in the harbor and the various lobster boats making their rounds. We can't wait to come back.

The perfect spot
Everything about this property and location was perfect. We would not have one complaint or change anything. The house was so cozy and decorated very comfortably. Classic coastal Maine. The kitchen was well stocked and there was not one thing we wished they had. We have rented many VRBO’s and it always seems like something is missing, but that was not the case. They thought of everything. The linens and towels that were provided were great - even LLBean beach towels for the hot tub. The house, yard and landscaping are even better in person than in the pictures. It was absolutely lovely! Veronika was very responsive and helpful with questions. We would definitely rent here again.

This rental is a gem. The property was so gorgeous and relaxing that we could barely bring ourselves to leave and explore elsewhere. We had the most relaxing vacation ever because of the quality and comfort of the house and the pristine grounds and view.

Great Place
Very nice & extremely clean. Everything was great.
Only issue we had was with the fireplace. Owner sent a repair person immediately but wasn't really able to solve the issue. I think maybe a new set of gas logs is needed.
We would absolutely rent this property again! Overall an awesome place and exactly what we wanted.

What a fantastic property. The second time we have stayed in the area, different house this time, but same managment/owner. House will not disappoint. Bright and updated. Hot tub was a great bonus. The area is very quiet this time of year, and that is just what we were looking for. Property is just as advertised. Management very responsive, we did have some difficulty with the gas fireplace, but management very helpful, responsive. Early check in and late check out was great that it was available. If your looking for a great quiet get away, this is the place.

An amazing getaway!
This property is SPECTACULAR! So beautiful, cozy, quiet, and has everything you could possibly need. Usually homes that I rent have the lowest quality items they can possibly get away with but this had top of the line everything - it was a pleasure to stay. I booked this for my parents, my brother, my husband and me to stay for Thanksgiving week and we cooked so many wonderful meals and enjoyed the fabulous hot tub. I cannot recommend it enough!

The home was in a wonderful and peaceful location, accurately described, adequately outfitted with amenities and kitchenware (some nicer than I own myself!), and very clean.
You're crazy not to book!

Top Notch
The property is utterly charming, a traditional cottage sensitively renovated with all the mod cons. It is impeccably maintained, extremely comfortable and even has decent cookware, a real rarity in holiday rentals. There is lovely landscaping and a nifty boathouse right on the water's edge. There are fantastic views out over the water. Port Clyde is a real town (not touristy) with an interesting history. We took the Bean boat tour out to Allen Island where Betsy Wyeth built an architecturally beautiful collection of buildings. The folks working on the boat were fantastic, informative and fun. Port Clyde is well located, close to Rockland with many restaurants and the wonderful Farnesworth Museum. Camden is reasonably close, also with many restaurants and a nice hike. We had a really great trip and we are super fussy. No disappointments.

Slice of Heaven
The property was so beautiful that it truly exceeded all expectations! The home is immaculate (much appreciated during a pandemic) and the decor/furnishings/beds were top quality and like something out of a magazine. We had everything we needed in the dream kitchen so, even though most restaurants were still closed for the season, we enjoyed cooking with an amazing view as the backdrop. We loved the hot tub (also immaculate) and outdoor living space and can imagine how much fun a summer vacation would be at this property. We want to say how awesome Veronika was to deal with. We had one minor issue and she sent a maintenance person over on a Sunday morning to assist. Everything with the registration process was smooth and the house was ready for us when we arrived. The only negative was that we had to leave. Highly recommend this beautiful property. Thank you for all of your help, Veronika!

What a place! What a spot!
We spent a magical week here off season (mid-April). The pictures and description in the listing are 100% accurate. The home is lovely, and the location is fantastic. Even in early spring, the grass is green, and flowers are starting to bloom in the back yard garden. The fire pits and the spa enabled us to enjoy ourselves outside even when the temperatures were in the 40's and 50's. Inside is just as nice, with views from every window, and the rooms themselves are comfortable and nicely decorated.

Cozy, quiet secluded holidays
We loved this house, location and also enjoy Maine. We’d love to come back in other seasons as well. Everything from booking to departing was simply perfect. Veronika was also just an email away to address questions. A neighbor evens delivers warm treats for the holiday. Simply perfect for our family of three and dog.

Fantastic Experience
We truly enjoyed our stay at Veronika’s property and did not want to leave when the week came to an end. The house is beautifully updated with a modern, well equipped kitchen, new bathrooms and everything we needed to make is feel at home. The view is outstanding and we spent a lot of time outside in the backyard and watching the lobster boats come in and out of Port Clyde. This is a fantastic spot to unplug and relax!

Port Clyde and the St. George peninsula has been our family getaway location for the past 8 years - this was our first vacation without the kids since they are both away to college. The house was exceptional and the ocean front views were spectacular. It was the off-season and along with COVID, many of the stores and restaurants in the region were closed, but we found enough that were open to meet our needs. Sitting on the back porch with the fire pit and enjoying the water views became our favorite activity. The house is near the end of a dead end road so it felt very isolated - which we liked. We plan on returning when we can.

Amazing location and property
This was really the perfect, quiet retreat. The location was beautiful as was the house and property itself. I was particularly impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was which made cooking during the week a breeze. The hot tub was ready to use the moment we arrived and allowed us to enjoy our time outside despite the cold.
We only regretted having to leave at the end of the week and would certainly visit again.
