About this cottage rental
Located in Malletts Bay, this attractive cottage for $350 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. You will love this beautiful cottage. Situated in a friendly neighbourhood where children are welcome. They will love to play in the sand or in the beautiful waters of Lake Champlain. The water level is very low and goes down gradually so it's great for small children as well as adults. Rest assured that every step has been taken to insure your safety and ours during, and after this Pandemic. The cottage is our vacation home that we rent out a few times during the summer to help with our expenses. We do the cleaning ourselves and will make sure that all surfaces are disinfected before and after you leave. Our cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. You can feel safe and there are no worries about keeping your distance with others since you will be alone in the house, on our side yard and the front deck. You also have your private walk down to the water and your private beach area, away from anyone else. We usually supplied bed linens but during this extraordinary period we ask that you bring your own, if possible. We have beautiful Airport Park a few minutes away that offers tennis, pickleball and basketball courts as well as a bicycle rental tent if you want to take advantage of the beautiful bike paths all around us. We have 3 sunny bedrooms plus a sun porch Sun deck facing the lake with patio furniture, gas grill and a cute fire pit. Short bicycle ride to downtown Burlington along bike path Offers 2 queen beds and twin bunk beds. Perfect for relaxing, swimming or sun bathing on our beautiful sandy beach Great shopping downtown Burlington or at Essex outlets A short drive to Stowe On weekends you can rent kayaks or paddleboards at Bayside park or bicycles at Airport Park. PERFECT FOR UVM and CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE parents visits or graduations.

We loved it! We road the Colchester causeway. We rode into town, Burlington. The location was perfect for both of those trip!

This was a lovely little beach house cottage in Vermont. The location was good as Burlington was only a 15 minute drive away. The cottage gets a little cold this time of year (October) so I would recommend using the fireplace for heat at night. Also, the shower is a little small so that is something to consider if you need/want a lot of shower space. Otherwise, the cabin was nice and it was in a good location.

the 3 season porch was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the view of the water from the house. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes. At night we could hear tree frogs calling on the other side of the road, which was fun.
There's also a park nearby with walking trails, and a grocery store close by. Zachary's Pizza is also close and we had an excellent pizza there. It was about 20 minutes to downtown Burlington. A very relaxing place to stay, so glad we found it!

The cottage was clean, well appointed and cozy! Not far from downtown Burlington by car, and beach access. Beds were comfy and we had a lovely stay. Be watchful of the driveway in arrival if you come after dark—it’s not evident from the street at first glance. Hosts were helpful and communicative.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The property is in a little neighborhood that is quiet and beautiful with views of the lake and Adirondacks. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals and enjoy time together. We loved the fire pit outside and the option to sit under the canopy in the rain. It felt very nice to spend time as a family in someone’s family cabin/camp. We enjoyed playing board games in the evening as well. I cannot say enough great things! We hope to stay again in the future. Thanks for Claire and her family for the great getaway!

Loved everything about this cute and cozy cottage. Kitchen was well stocked to cook both breakfast and dinner. Beds were comfortable. Enjoyed the fireplace and view of the lake. Hope to stay again!

This is a truly lovely cottage! There is a view of Lake Champlain (partly obstructed by a couple of other cottages, but still very nice), and it's only a one minute walk along a footpath to the beach (no road crossings involved). There is a nice outdoor deck as well as an enclosed porch, both sharing the lakeview. The only significant downside is that there is almost no sound insulation between the rooms. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage this fall. it was a nice alternative to staying at a hotel because it is a home and has everything you’d need to feel comfortable. We enjoyed the kitchen and the fireplace and the cozy atmosphere. I hope to be back some other time in the spring when we can enjoy the patio and the lake as well.

While the cottage is small for 3 couples and might be better for a family with kids, we made it work and were comfortable (my adult daughter and her boyfriend had to sleep in bunk beds but they were fine with it). The large deck outside, with chairs and a table gave us room to spread out and the beach is right there. The cottage is also right on the bike path, which we loved. The kitchen was well stocked and comfortable to cook in. Beds were also very comfortable. We had a lovely 6 nights at the house.

The Perfect Little Getaway
Our stay at Claire's home could not have been more delightful! We journeyed to Burlington to visit our son who is a student at UVM and having the cottage to go home to each day was amazing. Morning walks on the beach in the brisk October breeze and watching the spectacular sunsets each evening were a highlight. The fully stocked cottage kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were super comfy, and even though the space was small, their was plenty of room for our family to hang out and enjoy each others company (inside and outside). The cottage isn't fancy but it is clean and super cute with accents of unique art all around giving it lots of personality. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone! Claire was a wonderful host, and answered any question I had within minutes. We can't wait to get back!

Cozy cottage
We enjoyed our early Fall stay. Everything worked out well. It’s a cute cottage with a short walk down to the lake. The cottage is located close to the causeway for biking and convenient to both Burlington and hiking destinations. Claire was a superlative host to work with: speedy responses and sensitive to challenges and concerns of travel during pandemic times.

Great getaway
Beautiful sunsets, outdoor patio and grill, short walk down private path to quiet beach. Everyone leaves their chairs down by the beach, which makes it simple. The lake is shallow for a long stretch before it gets deep and it's sandy the whole way out. The location is close enough to Burlington for a day or evening out. We enjoyed walking everyday on the nearby path to the park. Rossi's restaurant has great burgers. We will come here again! Claire, the owner was great!

Relaxing beach cottage
We loved our stay at Claire's cottage in Colchester. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, swimming in Lake Champlain, and there was plenty of room for us and our two kids. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable.

Great location, beach access, awesome sandy beach and lake
The Murphy's place on Mallet's Bay was a great getaway for our family of 4. The house had everything we needed and a few extras, like a kids' kayak and a paddle board. The kitchen is well-equipped and has some basics like spices, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, etc. The grocery store is not far, as is the pharmacy. The lake and beach are awesome - easy access right down the sandy path from the back deck. The water is shallow for a while, so our family could hang out in the water all together or head out on our canoe to explore or go fishing.
The outdoor space on the deck is small but highly functional. The back deck table has a great cover over it for seeking out shade and the property has some lovely shade trees as well.
The helpful neighbor made check in and check out easy and even supplied us with dish soap and some emergency benadryl when our son got stung on the face by a deer fly.
My kids asked to stay here again, which is great praise, and may have to do with both the beach/lake access, but also the Netflix/ROKU tv in the living room, which got nightly use. We also used the bike path daily for walks and running - if you have a bike, I highly recommend bringing it!! The ride to Burlington is great.

Perfect spot for a weekend away!!
We stayed at this adorable cottage for only two nights but it was fantastic. Super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were there in mid October so no swimming but the beach didn’t disappoint. The sunsets and even sunrises were beautiful. Close enough to Burlington we were able to go over for the day and then go back to our little oasis. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back again.

Wonderful weekend
The house was clean, comfortable and had a great personality! The lake view and short walk to the beach was our favorite! I would recommend for a close stay to Burlington where you can feel like you are miles away from it all!

Just the right summer retreat for our family of 4.
We immensely enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfect for our family of four. There was more than enough space for us. The front sitting area has a beautiful breeze and beautiful views of the lake. Our young girls loved playing in the lake- there was just enough sandy beach for my husband and I to relax on while the girls played in the water.
We enjoyed so much in both Colchester and Burlington while we stayed here. And we enjoyed just sitting in the cottage, reading, looking out on the lake and making s’mores.
We absolutely hope to come back again next year. This really is an excellent find.

Great Camp
This is a very nice and comfortable cabin. Our kids had a great time on the beach and the views across the lake are beautiful. Makes for a great base to explore Lake Champlain.

Lovely place, perfect location
The cottage is beautiful and comfortable. We were able to enjoy sun, shade, swimming, sitting on the beach, outdoor dining and a romantic evening fire all within steps of the front door. Claire was a wonderful host, we look forward to returning in the future.
