Situated in Acireale, this attractive castle / palace for $840 per night is a great option for your next trip. An Art Nouveau-style castle near the sea, with a superb private pool, and surrounded by one and a half hectare park that includes a lawn with a swing, a lemon orchard, bougainvillea, roses, palm trees and a wonderful pine: in Castello Claves you can truly have a taste of 19th century decadent life! The castle, located just 200 meters from the square and the marina of Stazzo, was built in the late nineteenth century and used as a base for hunting. The descendants of the first owners - an exquisite elderly couple - live on the ground floor. The couple, while occasionally using the park and the pool, provides privacy for their guests who will have the rest of the property and a private entrance. The first floor of Castello Claves has a large living room with access to a spacious panoramic terrace. On this floor there are also a double bedroom with view of Mount Etna, a large double bedroom with access to the terrace, a third bedroom with two single beds (which can be united), two bathrooms (one with bath) and a kitchen with dishwasher. The second floor is the floor with the turrets. The turrets offer a charming stay with a marvellous 360 degrees view that includes the sea and Mount Etna. The panorama gets even more fascinating at nights with all the towns lights! You can access the two turrets from the terrace on the rooftop. The north tower has a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The south tower has a double bedroom that can be reached via a spiral staircase. This room does not have a bathroom. Castello Claves is ideal for families who are seeking an exclusive experience in Sicily! The park is well kept also thanks to the owner who, among other things, has let the vegetation grow up to the first and second floor in order to provide the terraces with a green roof and therefore a beautiful and desired shade. The first floor of Castello Claves offers a pleasant stay even in low season thanks to its radiators. The turrets, not having the heating, are not suitable for a winter stay. Stazzo: Castello Claves is located at 200 meters from the sea, in a village that thrives on fishing during low season and tourism during high season in summer. There are two marinas and restaurants. In the nearby villages of Santa Tecla and Santa Maria La Scala, there are excellent seafood restaurants. Taormina and Giardini Naxos are about 25 km further away. The pool measures 15 by 7 meters and it is open from April until October. The following might be to be paid extra: Pets, Tourist tax.

Our stay was absolutely incredible in Lilianas castle! A truly unique experience, incredible history and beautiful antiques everywhere. The pool area is the best I have ever experienced in a holiday rental. Enormous and plenty of comfy seating for everyone to lounge. Lots of nearby great days out. The pictures do not do the grandeur justice. Do not hesitate to book, you wll not regret it!! Oh and Liliana is absolutely lovely!! 10/10 experience ????

This is a large unique place with huge amounts of old world charm. Everything works and everthing is there. But in addition there are photos, pictures, furniture, lights, mirrors going back across family generations since the place was built. Massive character. The beds are old and perhaps they could do with modern linen. There was no TV which was great. You can see Etna clearly from the back. The garden was massive and somewhat overgrown. The pool was excellent but cold but this is what you would expect for May. The place is very secure. Some local dogs bark from time to time. The sheer charm of the place, the many rooms, the staircase, the large veranda where we had dinner several times, are the best memories. And Liliana the host was exceptionally nice.

Our week at Liliana’s beautiful Castello was a delight. We were a party of 8; two parents & 6 young adults 17-23. There was plenty of beds to go round and enough bathrooms too. The kitchen and dining room were perfect for our needs. The decor throughout is charming and reflects a true family home without feeling cluttered or intrusive.
The outside spaces are even more wonderful. The half shaded veranda is very spacious and perfect for dining and lazing around. The terrace between the towers offers stunning views of Etna and the sea and on occasions we ate there too. Both spaces have large tables and chairs.
The swimming pool is a proper size at 15m and well equipped with loungers, shower and changing room. Water temperature in June - perfect.
The whole Castello is surrounded by a stunning garden which is lovingly maintained. Beautiful scented shrubs everywhere, tropical palms and mature trees. Fresh lemons to pick from the orchard. The place is teeming with birds and butterflies.
The town of Stazzo is lively but refreshingly unpretentious. The restaurant on the square sells delicious pizza, the two bars are busy and fun. Fresh fruit and veg from a stall on the square is high quality and good value. In the evening a gelati van sells modestly priced cornets.
Our host Liliana was so kind, helpful and respectful of our privacy. Nothing was too much trouble. She wanted us to have a wonderful time in her magical home and we did -100%.

The castle is old and charming. Liliana is the best host I have ever met, you truly feel welcome and connected to her family history. The is very big and we could still enjoy it at the end of October. The only negative thing in my sensitive point of view are the barking dogs in the neighborhood.

Amazing castle with extensive garden & private pool set in a lovely small village. Views of the sea and Etna. Balcony and roof terrace as well as two tower rooms. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. There are several vineyards nearby and lots of fantastic places to and visit nearby. Warmly recommend this place for family holidays.

Castello Claves er en helt unik feriebolig! Meget gode fasiliteter, med stort bassengområde og luftige verandaer. Eiendommen byr på mange muligheter for en stor gruppe på tur. Vi var to familier som tilbrakte en ferieuke sammen og alle fikk sine behov dekket, voksne som barn. Rom og innredning var velholdt og vakkert møblert med bruk av varige materialer som fliser, marmor og heltre som tåler tiden tann. Hagen var velstelt og vakker - det var rett og slett et eventyr av et sted! Liliana og mammaen hennes (på 100 år) var utrolig søte og det var ikke til noen sjenanse å ha husverten boende i første etasje. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake!

There are two large balconies, one designed for breakfast, one for evening aperativo. The rooms are all very comfortable and artfully decorated over the last 120 years of family ownership. Liliana is delightful and left us homemade marmalade and cakes as well as basic breakfast supplies. Don't forget to check out her hand made bags available for sale in the tower too! It is a wonderful place to stay, my only note is you will probably want a car just because Stazzo isn't that big. That said we whiled away many joyful hours sitting by the pool, walking in the garden or taking in the views of Enta and the sea. You can't go wrong!

Staying in a castle in Sicily is as great as it sounds! My husband and I slept in the very romantic turret room. It is a short walk to amazing swimming and a bar and restaurant at night. We loved every minute.

Manchmal versprechen die Fotos mehr, als es die Realität hergibt. Aber dieses Schloss ist unglaublich, die Fotos bilden eine gute Ahnung ab. Wir haben uns sofort zuhause gefühlt. Lagebewertung: Auf der einen Seite der Etna in voller Pracht, auf der anderen das Meer zu sehen. Bis zur nächsten Location für jugendliche Berliner benötigt man ein Auto. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne in dieser Kategorie. Ansonsten aus meiner Sicht: Mindestens 10 Sterne. Ein Traum. Abgefahren, irre, ein Jagdschloss. In der Kategorie Familienurlaub mit 9 Personen von 25-85 Jahren: Perfekt (Es sei denn, jemand kann absolut keine Treppen mehr steigen). So ein tolles Anwesen habe ich noch nie bewohnt.

A beautiful castle in a stunning location. The host is very welcoming and helpful. The pool is brilliant. The wildlife, birds and lizards in the day and little bats at night were a real pleasure for us. The garden was full of flowers and picking lemons from the trees was a real treat. The castle is crammed with amazing objects but ok for two lively boys (7 and 5). The property is close to various places of interest. Don’t miss Lorenzo's restaurant in the next village. Highly recommend for a memorable holiday.

A wonderful place to stay, a great setting, easy walk to bars/ restaurants/ the sea. Amazing views of etna and the sea from the roof terrace. Lots of fascinating pictures, maps and artefacts throughout the house. We had fabulous weather at the end of October, we used the beautiful pool most days.

Ett så vackert slott. Varenda detalj är vald med omtanke, fotografier på familjen, antika möbler och föremål. Tack Liliana för att du där så generös och lånar ut ditt hem till oss. Vi har verkligen njutit av att efter äventyr på ön komma "hem" till kastellet. Vi trängdes i det gemytliga köket och lagade pasta vid den stora spisen. Middagen avnjöt vi i matsalen med en fantastisk utsikt över trädgården och medelhavet. Frukosten tidig morgon med solen skinande genom de stora fönsterpartierna och en espresso på terassen kommer vi att bära med oss för alltid. Tack också för våra fina samtal. Le lieu est magique. Au-delà de sa beauté, de l’espace, de la (grande) piscine, nous avons été touchés par l’histoire qui s’en dégage. Le château a une âme, ce qui change du caractère impersonnel qu’on peut rencontrer parfois dans certaines locations... Tout cela est renforcé par la gentillesse de Liliana, à la fois discrète et tellement chaleureuse. Nous (2 familles de 9 personnes au total) avons été vraiment privilégiés de passer une semaine dans cette demeure au pied du majestueux Etna.

Our stay at Lilianas house was perfect and wonderful! The house and its garden with the pool are most beautiful. We stayed with a total number of 10 persons and travelled with 3 children (2 months, 1 1/2 years and 2 years). There were sleeping cods for all three children. The terrace is big enough for them to play safely. The pool is fenced and with its size perfect for entertaining children of all ages. On the other side its big enough for adults to swim laps. The ocean is only a 5 minute walk away. There are several possibilities to dive into the ocean. However, the rocky beaches are less suitable for swimming with smaller children. The kitchen is very well equiped including a dish washer and a washing mashine. Liliana is a very pleasant lady, a lovely host and always very helpful. We could not have asked for a better place to stay! Thank you

This property is a hidden gem. The "castle" is situated amidst several acres of a beautifully groomed private park, with flowering vines, palm trees and a huge and well maintained swimming pool - a true oasis from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding seaside villages. Yet you are only a 200 yard walk to the Stazzo waterfront. But the best part of the property is the castle itself. You'll feel like royalty staying in this beautifully appointed house full of family heirlooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, as is the large dining room. There are several terraces on different levels from which you have stunning views of the sea on one side and Mt. Etna on the other. With five bedrooms and three bathrooms, the castle proved to be the perfect venue for a family gathering to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It also proved to be a good base to see the sights of eastern Sicily, including Mt. Etna, Catania, Syracusa, Noto, Ragusa, and Modica - most of which are within a 30-90 minute driving radius. On our next visit, we plan to do less sight-seeing and more time relaxing at the castle and chatting with it's charming owner, Liliana!

We had the most wonderful week at Castle Claves. The castle, gardens and pool were even more stunning than the pictures. The resident Liliana was utterly delightful, charming, helpful and completely respected our privacy. The castle is rich in history and full of atmosphere. We felt transported into an authentic little paradise. The only downfall was having to leave at the end of our stay... We couldn't recommend this magical experience more and are already planning our return next year!

Wir führen geschäftlich ein sehr Leben in Berlin.... Das Paradies, das wir im Schlösschen erlebt haben, hat uns nicht nur entspannt. Das war viel mehr: wir waren glücklich, die Kinder mit dem unglaublichen Pool und wir, Erwachsen, mit dem Garten (das ist kein gewöhnlicher Garten, das ist ein Gefühl außerhalb der Welt zu sein, von Olivenbäumen bis zu Palmen, wir war einfach überall in der Welt)... Die Gastgeberin bewohnt zwar den Erdgeschoss, ist aber unglaublich unkompliziert, mischt sich in nichts ein, ist ausschließlich eine nette Nachbarin... Ich habe meiner weit in der Welt zerstreuter Familie, von Amerika, über Deutschland bis nach Russland lebend, dieses Anwesen als unser nächstes Familientreffen vorgeschlagen und wäre glücklich, wenn es klappt..... Mein Mann meinte, er hat mich noch nie (und ich bin ein ausgesprochen fröhlicher Mensch) so glücklich, wie in dem Schlösschen erlebt.... Family Vacation
All members of our group enjoyed the privacy and elegance of Castello Claves. The location was perfect for exploring Mt. Etna, Taormina and Catania. Views from the towers are spectacular! Short, easy walk to the water and small eateries. We loved hearing the church bells & roosters : ) Our on-site host Liliana was very kind and helpful with any requests we made. She recommended a local private chef (Bruno Trovato) who escorted us on a tour of local markets and prepared an amazing dinner for us with the super fresh items we chose. It was everyone's favorite meal of the trip.

THE most magical place!
We are a 5 adults and 3 children party who have just returned from Castello Claves. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is as stunning on the outside as it is on the inside, full of history and architecturally beautiful.
Lilliana was so welcoming and generous with her time, arranging for us to dine locally at some lovely restaurants and helping to book taxis when needed. We literally didn't want to leave!
The area is beautiful, non touristy and a car is recommended but you can get to local amenities by foot. We will be returning for sure!
