Pool and gardens were fabulous and Delilah the dog was so much fun. Lucy, the owner, was extremely friendly and responded quickly to all our questions.

West Cottage is a lovely little cottage in a quiet rural location. It forms part of the house that the owners live in. You can park outside your door although access is along the drive to the main house. The owner came out to meet us and explained everything, and was on hand next door if you needed anything. The beds were comfortable and the facilities larger than the pictures show. WiFi connections great for TV but emergency calls only on mobiles. Plenty of spare towels, two bathrooms and everything you would need for cooking. Play area for children and swimming pool.
The swimming pool, is shared with the owners and not near the cottage, but behind trees to the side of the main house. We found the small arm chair just too old and worn for comfort. The whole house and cottage can be let together so there are access doors upstairs and downstairs, although locked when the cottage is let separately.

Set in peaceful mature grounds, both indoor and outdoor spaces were great, well furnished and spacious. The beds were really comfortable.
Lucy was welcoming and her little dog was very friendly and cute.
We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice.
A short drive away, the general store in Cerne Abbas was very well stocked.
We had a great stay. The only things that could be improved would be: a privacy window blind in the en-suite bathroom, and a shower fixed over the bath in the main bathroom.

Set in nice grounds, upstairs was very clean.
Personally I thought it was very expensive for the standard you get. Downstairs area and pool area look a little tired and dated.
