About this house rental
Nestled in Michiana Shores, this lovely house for $129 per night is a great option for your next break. Our home is an 0.8 mile walk to the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan, stop 37. Enjoy the seclusion and privacy in Michiana Shores. There is plenty of hiking nearby with plenty of wildlife to see. We have a shed with beach chairs, toys and a few childrens bicycles. The house has 7 beds: Bedroom 1: 1 queen bed Bedroom 2: 1 queen bed Bedroom 3: 1 queen bed Bedroom 4: 2 bunk beds (4 total beds) - 2 twins and 2 fulls There are 2 bathrooms: Bathroom 1: Upper level bathroom with a shower/bathtub combo Bathroom 2: Lower level bathroom with a shower We have a shed in the backyard with a beach wagon, beach chairs and beach toys. Our home is kid friendly with toys in the basement and beach toys in the shed, two fisher price booster high chairs and floaties. There is a great playground and tennis court a short walk away. Stop 50 Pizza is a block and a half away.

Just as advertised. Kids loved the lower level and the adults loved it as well. Walking distance to a good pizza place and centrally located for Chicago and St. Joseph. Would stay again.

When we arrived, the house was not clean. There was sand everywhere (in the couches, the beds, etc.). The shower curtain had black mold and mildew on it. The refrigerator did not work, and we had to store all of the food we bought in the freezer to keep it from spoiling.
*note: we later unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in, and it worked… slightly.
The house doesn’t cool well at all. Maybe that’s because there are no window coverings on the windows in the kitchen or living room; allowing sun to beat in all day. The deck is about to fall apart; such that we only allowed one child to go down the stairs at a time.
We messaged the owner on the first day about the fridge and a lack of cleanliness… he never responded.
I would not recommend this property.

The house was exactly as described. Parking at the home was limited. Parking at the Beach, Stop 37, only 15min time limit. Beach area extremely small and limited for a large family to enjoy. Pets were allowed, BUT ONLY at certain times of the day on the beach. Disappointing. Items for use in the Shed were mostly broken and not useable. Games provided were disassembled, and missing pieces. Felt misled,in certan aspects of this rental.

Nice home
Home was nice! And always love the area. I’d say it could have definitely been cleaner and could use some updates to the furniture- the upstairs couch in particular. Not the most comfortable. We cleaned everything before we used it- like plates and cups, the cooler we scrubbed for quite a while to ensure it was clean. But overall, we wanted for nothing- had everything we needed, plenty of space, in a nice location! We would stay again.

Checking in to this property was easy and simple. the property manager was available if and when needed. House was very nice and spacious. We arrived to broken furniture, stained sofa, ants in the kitchen, earwigs & crickets in the basement, dirty dishes in the cupboards, a large hole in a bedroom door, a broken transition strip with a nail sticking up and mold in the ice/ water dispenser on the fridge. Thos plan ewas disgusting.
After many unsuccessful attempts to reach the owner, we contacted vrbo customer service. When we finally got connected with the owner, he admitted that sounded awful and agreed to give us "some kind of compensation for the trouble." 36 hours later, he is once again not responding.

I contacted the owner to express our frustration with the misrepresentation of the property and asked for a better refund due to such uncleanliness. He is once again ignoring our messages. This property should never be rented at the cost we paid. Beware!

Beautiful area. Beach is amazing. Much of the area is private beach to residential owners only, so stop 41 is best place to access.

Great place for your family with kids.
Enjoy picking blueberry farm, beside Lake Michigan beaches. The food at the pizzeria around the corner was delicious. There so many activities here. There the Zoo or go fishing.

Deferred maintenance and cleanliness issues.
Arrived to find lockbox open and front door unlocked. No second key ever found. Home was not clean especially bathrooms. Bedroom doors that would not close, sagging couch in living room, dishwasher door broken and back door does latch. These are just a sampling of the deferred maintenance items. Overall this could be a nice place with some more attention. Pictures on the website not fully representative of what is the current condition of the property.

Great location-would recommend
House was in a quiet neighborhood, plenty of outdoor space. Some home improvements and furniture updates could be done, but overall we had a wonderful time. Great location at an affordable price per night. Property owner was great to work with. I have already shared this property with friends and family for future bookings.

It was nice and relaxing stay.
The check in and check out was a very easy and convenient for me. Love that it had a fire pit to do some smores.

Close to everything !
Early mornings were spent wearing my aussie sheppards out. Then back to the back yard picnic bench to chill with my grand boys and introduce them to my dogs. My daughter took care of the 2month old .the place was roomy couldn't hear baby cry downstairs .
The park was great . Many of the beaches were closed because high water level . new buffalo was great for sunsets , ice cream at Oinks , dinner and shopping . Grocery store was AL' s on rt 20 south
and pizza was great around the corner at Stop 50.

Outstanding Home
We have rented from Colin and Krystel before and they are wonderful owners. We knew we didn't need to worry about anything as their homes are always clean and have everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised to find a great playground for the kids just a short walk away. Don't hesitate to rent this home, you'll love it!

Property was beautiful. Plenty of room. You could tell it has been rented out quite a bit though. I still would stay another time.

The house was everything we had hoped for! It was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our vacation. It is a great spot for kids - they loved seeing deer in the backyard, there are a bunch of toys, and there is a great playground close by. Thanks!
