This completely renovated 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or weeklong family vacation. Nestled in the protected shores of the Nantahalah National Forest, this home features a fully equipped kitchen, covered outdoor sitting area and a private dock and a brand new lakeside deck with gas firepit for 2022. A canoe, 2 kayaks and 2 stand-up paddle boards are at your disposal. This nature lover's paradise boasts miles of nearby hiking trails, fishing and swimming in the pristine waters of Lake Santeetlah. Peaceful sunrises and breathtaking sunsets will keep you coming back again and again. Be prepared to fall in love with this well kept secret. The host was very informative and communicated well. The house is absolutely in a beautiful cove in the lake. I grew up in RVill and had to attend a funeral, and the serenity, and the calm of that lake was just what I needed. The fog lifting in the Smokey mountains was seen daily.

My husband and I stayed three nights in this cute house. The house was clean and had a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed our stay the only slight disappointment was it's much smaller than it looks in the pictures. You're asked to take your trash off when you leave. I let Marc know we weren't able to do this because we drove a small sports car and didn't have any space left he was very understanding.

The cottage was perfect for our stay. We spent lots of time paddling on the lake, but also lots of time relaxing on the porch. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We hope to be back soon.

Property was exactly as presented. Decor was updated, comfortable and cozy. House was well equipped- including water toys to help us take full advantage of the lake. It is obvious that the owners had their guests in mind when setting up the house. Lovely!

We had a wonderful stay at the Santeetlah cabin. Our time couldn’t have been better. House was very clean, and the kitchen was stocked with any item you need to cook.
One thing that was such a pleasant surprise was the quality of the sheets and towels! Most rental properties don’t have the highest quality sheets and towels and usually end up being scratchy, uncomfortable bedding and cheap, thin towels. Not this place! We slept so well!
If you’re debating whether or not to book, don’t hesitate! This place is a GEM!

The property looks even better in person than in photos. Everything was very clean and well-appointed, especially the kitchen. We loved the spot with a clear sunset view. And, of course, the lake was as beautiful as always. We've been to Santeetlah several times and would certainly come back to this property! We had an amazing time at the Modica's cottage. They are wonderful hosts that truly care about making sure you have an enjoyable vacation. The cottage is easy to find, was very clean, and had an incredible view of the lake and mountains. The beds were very comfortable as was the seating in the living room and dining room. The dining table was perfect for meals and board games. Paddling around the lake was so peaceful. The proximity to great hiking trails and several whitewater rafting options makes the cottage ideal for those looking to spend time both on the water and in the mountains. They have a well stocked kitchen and there is a grocery store nearby. There are also plenty of great restaurants both in town and in the surrounding area. We would definitely stay at the cottage again if we are able to return to the area.

A quiet and relaxing stay. The cottage was perfect for our needs; clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The location was great for outdoor adventures in the area, such as hiking and kayaking, all in scenic surroundings. The property owner could not have been more accomodating to our inquiries and requests.

A lovely and thoughtfully appointed home in an ideal location. This home was very clean and stocked with almost everything we could have needed. We specifically sought out homes without animal head/skins etc. as decor and this house was true to the listing. Bright and tasteful decorating and multiple places to sit outdoors. The views of Lake Santeetlah were stunning at all times of the day. We loved having access to the kayaks and enjoyed the lake every day we were there. Additional note - we appreciated having a place nearby to drop our recyclables!

This is a beautiful cottage with a gorgeous view. We found the property to be well-maintained, clean (including the outside porch and furniture!), and equipped with everything needed for our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards that were provided with our stay. Our interaction with the hosts/owners was minimal (arrival/departure); however, you could tell they are nice people, available if you need them, and that they want you to enjoy your stay.

Lovely place in a perfect location in a cove. We spent most of our time on the large comfy porch watching the clouds and mountains. We kayaked, swam, hiked Joyce Kilmer and took evening strolls around the beautiful neighborhood. It’s a sweet place thoughtfully remodeled. We would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Family Vacation
We enjoyed this clean and cozy cabin. It was very well-appointed (kitchen & bath included) and the beds were comfortable. Highlights included taking the kayaks, canoe, or SUP out in the mornings - and relaxing on the porch in the evenings - just gorgeous. We filled-in the days with drives to local trails and sights. Would stay here again.

Perfect lakeside cottage
The well-decorated cottage was absolutely perfect for the two of us. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed with quality linens, fluffy towels in bathroom. We spent most of our time on the cozy porch taking advantage of the gorgeous view of lake, mountains, and stunning sunsets. We availed ourselves of the canoe and SUP that were graciously provided by the host. Quiet, walkable community. Can’t wait to go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay in this lake house on Santeetlah Lake! Although we didn’t use any of the water equipment provided, we were able to just relax and look at the lake and the stars from the couch. Even saw a few shooting stars! We hope to come back one day.

A great disconnect at the lake. Mid-October weather did not disappoint with great leaf color and warm weather that allowed time on/in the water. The cottage works well for cooking and family time on the porches and dock.

Cozy and Peaceful Cottage with Beautiful Scenery
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Marc was a fantastic host who was quick to respond to any questions we had about our stay. Lake Santeetlah is so beautiful. We rented a boat for a day and floated around the lake. The views are outstanding. A big thanks to the Modicas for sharing their place. We would definitely recommend it and would love to return someday!
