About this house rental

Nestled in Wellfleet, this charming house for $272 per night is a great option for your next break. This charming and spacious 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath cottage is located on Chequessett Neck Road and is a short walk from Powers Landing, a lovely bayside beach. The cottage, an addition to the antique family home, echoes the traditional Cape style. (The main house has a separate entrance as well as separate outdoor area and is used sporadically by various family members during the summer.) On the main floor of the cottage is a large living room, a well-equipped kitchen with dining table and sliders to the deck, one bedroom with 2 twins (New in 2017) and a full bath off the hallway. On the second floor is a large bedroom with one queen bed (New in 2020) and one twin bed and a half bath. It is less than a mile to the center of town, pleasant bike ride or walk, and 10 minutes or so by car to the ponds and ocean beaches. In 2016 the hardwood floors were refinished, a new dishwasher was installed and a new BBQ was added. Non-refundable $250.00 fee (includes administrative fee and damage waiver insurance) plus applicable state and local taxes. Linen package is available at additional cost upon request.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family found this property well suited to our needs. Plenty of space, charming Colonial decor, dishwasher, washer/dryer, deck, and well stocked kitchen. Marsh or beach views would have been nice, but we knew going in that wasn’t the case. There is, however, a pretty flower and vegetable garden alongside the house and deck. The house is just a short walk from Powers Landing Beach, a low key, bayside beach, and a short drive or long walk into Wellfleet Center. Tons to do just in and around Wellfleet. We also found the management company to be very responsive to a couple minor issues that came up. I would happily stay here again.

The house was lovely with comfortable furniture and attractive decorative touches. Lots of windows for light and ventilation. Location is wonderful, across the road and half a block up from the bay beach. Not fancy but well maintained and attractive in traditional Cape Cod fashion

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Usually the weather toward the end of August is delightful in Wellfleet, but this year it was hot and humid, and so was the house. We checked in, and all the windows were closed and fans off. It was unbearable, and difficult to sleep. There was also a wasp's nest above the outdoor shower (our favorite amenity). The office initially asked us to spray and remove the nest, but when we declined, they did handle it three days after we checked in. The sliding screen door was broken, and the office sent someone, who just removed the door but did not replace it, so we had to keep the slider to the kitchen, the hottest room in the house, closed at all times. I will say the office staff were friendly and responsive, and the owner was friendly. Though we loved the location near Power's Landing, I would only consider rebooking if AC units were installed, or portable ACs made available. It was a sleepless week.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely week in this house. We were 4 adults staying with a larger family group just down the road. The house was well kept and spacious and had just about everything we needed. Appliances worked well, and it is just far enough off the road to be quiet. My only suggestion would be to provide the kitchen with a little more glassware and perhaps some larger hot beverage cups. It was a very hot week so we did miss having AC but plenty of fans were provided so that helped a lot. All in all a wonderful place we would consider returning to!

Neat, clean house, great location across from the beach, not far from harbor and town. Only quibbles are balky slider door to deck, and erratic wifi service.

Outside shower was updated a bit from last years visit. The location is across the street from Power's Landing, a small but beautiful beach on the bay side. Love this rental.Will hopefully be back next year!!

Took 3 of my kids to Cape for a week and rented this house. Location is great, place is great too. Everything what you need is in a house, everything is working well. Location is perfect, walk to beach at bay, 10 minuets drive to Atlantic side of Cape, where beach is clean and even we saw a seals. Town near had everything what you want from souvenirs to groceries and ice cream store. It was great trip.
