Quiet setting, exceptionally clean room, excellent.
The only thing I didn't like had nothing to do with the New London Inn. I didn't realize when I requested a room that there weren't any elevators to get me to the third floor. It was awkward for me to get up to flights of stairs with my luggage. But the staff were very gracious and helped me get my belongings upstairs and back down again the next day. I learned to request a first floor room from now on. That was the only downside to my stay at the New London Inn.

Location, not insanely expensive.
Bed was awful. The building is from 1792. The room door does not fit the frame well and has big gaps and that's understandable but there are exceptionally bright lights on in the hallway all night with light flooding in the room like a spotlight. The carpet is stained and there was hair from a previous guest all over the shower. More care should definitely be taken. I have a friend who is a frequent visitor from out of town. I cannot recommend that she stay here.
