Gladstone House

The hosts were very friendly and supportive. Breakfast was great. Location was very good.

The property is not in good condition. Needs maintenance and upkeep. Sloping ceiling walls were dangerous. Steps up to bedroom were dangerous.

Quiet and comfortable. Hosts very hospitable and accommodating. Personally was pleased there was a nonslip shower/bath safety mat provided.🙂

Stairs, but that is to be expected.

We were greeted and welcomed warmly, by Malcom on arrival. We were served tea and cake in the lounge when welcomed. Both Malcolm and Jonathan couldn’t have done enough to make our stay better than it was, they were so friendly and we were made to feel home from home. Breakfast choices, well, no menu needed there, as the guys asked what we would like and lo and behold our requests were fulfilled and more! The location is fabulous and we enjoyed some sunshine sitting in their lovely garden, over and above everything else.

Great position in Kirkcudbright

It was most unfortunate that there was a problem with a severe lack of water available in the bathroom throughout our stay. (For other guests too). This meant that I couldn’t bathe or flush the loo on the first night and it was hit and miss on the second night. It could do with a bit of maintenance generally and specifically in the paintwork around the windows. There was a distinct damp and musty smell on entry and the tower blocks of electrical extension leads in several public areas was a bit untidy and off putting.
