About this house rental
Situated in Capitol Hill, this charming house for $551 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Space The exposed brick, wrap around wood stair case, 4 fireplaces (for show only at this time), original hardwood floors, and more will take you back into time to the 1800s during the revival of gothic Victorian style row homes while enjoying the comfort of updated modern amenities. Our 3 Bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home can be enjoyed as classy family vacation home, friend’s getaway or company trip location. There is a king size bed in the master with a foam mattress for the floor (if needed), and queen size beds in the other two bedrooms. We also have a full size bed in the pullout sofa. Guest access Super Easy Check-In: -Arrive on your schedule and don't worry about trying to meet up with someone for the key. Our home is equipped with a digital keypad, ready for your arrival. So if your travel plans change, no worries! Neighborhood overview Historic Capitol Hill is one of the most prominent neighborhoods in the District filled architecturally rich row homes, national parks (1 block from house walkable sidewalks, and local small businesses. We will provide an updated city guide for you upon your arrival. Additionally, we are happy to provide suggestions (or even connections) for activities, events, and things to do in the city upon request. Getting around Our home is walking distance from the US Capitol, monuments, Eastern Market, Marine Barracks, newly re-developed Navy Yards waterfront, and more! If you forget or need anything, there are multiple grocery stores, CVS, coffee shops, restaurants, neighborhood stores, and shopping in a short walk. Capital Bike share bicycle parking is located at Lincoln park - one block from our house. For those who would like to use the Metrorail, Eastern Market (Blue/Orange/Silver line) is half a mile away and Union Station (Red Line) is a little over 1 mile. At Union station, you can access trains and buses to farther distances such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York cities. Uber is probably the easiest and usually less expensive than public transportation, especially for groups of people. *** Ronald Reagan Airport is only a 15 minute drive from the house! (6.1 miles, perhaps 20-25 in heavy traffic) Other things to note Additional Conveniences: - TVs with streaming app access - Reliable Wifi - workspaces- Iron and ironing board - Hair dryer - Storage armoires for your belongings and all those souvenirs you may pick up. - Washer/Dryer with detergent - Basic Kitchen supplies (salt/pepper/spices/oil/etc)

Our family had an amazing time. The house was perfect foe the 6 of us and location was central to everything we wanted to do. Ubers were easy to use to get around.

The property was just like the pictures. Really nice 3 story townhouse, well appointed bedrooms, comfortable beds and couches throughout, big kitchen to cook in, the whole 9 yards. Close to Eastern Market, which is open 8-6 most days, and not too far to walk to downtown DC action. Would stay again.

After a busy day in DC this was nice to come home to. Knowing that we had private parking, comfortable beds and quiet neighborhood was great after a long day of sightseeing.

- Patio furniture not able to be used despite being covered before we arrived
- Water pressure for select sinks and showers could be better

Our family really enjoyed staying at this house. It’s immaculate, and very nicely decorated. Great location in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. Eastern Market is a must visit on weekends and there is so much close by. I cannot emphasize enough the benefit of the private and secure parking. The beds were very comfortable. And each bedroom having its own bathroom is a huge plus when traveling with teenagers. Barry, the owner, is incredibly responsive. We had no issues at all, but when we had a question he responded immediately. Could not be happier with our stay and I hope we get to come back.

We’ve traveled to DC for years, and this is one of our favorite locations so far. The easy access to Eastern Market (food, shopping and metro) and walkability to Capitol Hill make it ideal. The setup was great for our group (5 women) - enough room to spread out, work, and relax - plus have social time. The neighborhood is wonderful - quiet and friendly. The host was great - very responsive - and access was simple and easy. Comfy beds and nice bathrooms too. We had a great stay!

Lovely home. Awesome location. Great courtyard to hang out and grill. Me and three friends were more than comfortable. Walking distance to some very good lunch spots, grocery store and many of the sites;10 min Uber to Nationals Park and about 20 to the MGM Casino! Barry was a wonderful host. Great Place to Stay
This house was amazing! The location can not be beat as it is close to Eastern Market and walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit. The property was clean and had everything we needed for the stay, including laundry, off-street parking and every streaming service you can imagine. To top it all off, the beds and linens were the best we have ever had in a VRBO! We were very happy with our long weekend here and will be back in the future!

Great Location!
The house was absolutely stunning, the pictures don’t do it justice. Easy walk to Capital building and attractions (make sure you have god walking shoes!). Beds were very comfortable. The parking was key- we didn’t have to worry about the car at all. Thank you for sharing your home Barry and Catherine!

Family Gathering
We needed a spot for a small family reunion. This property is nicely set up for this purpose and we had a great time.
With respect to entertaining our family, the long table in the kitchen area easily accommodated 10 people for dinner (I was concerned it might be too tight but it worked). The kitchen is well equipped with nice knives, pans, utensils etc for food prep and we discovered a charcoal grill outside which was not listed but was definitely a bonus since our son likes to cook this way. I did have to borrow a mixer from a family member who lives nearby to make a specific appetizer but otherwise it's all there!
The bedrooms are very nice. The top (3rd) floor is 2 queen bedrooms each with a private bath supplied with extra TP under the sink and toiletries in the showers. Most important, the beds are comfortable. The second floor is the master suite area with a king bedroom on one side of the staircase and an oversized bathroom with large tub on the other side. The first floor is all living/kitchen/dining area with a half bath. This floor includes the sleep sofa which we did use 1 night and as you might expect it was less comfortable than the other options. We should have carried the foam futon bed (which is stored in the second floor bath) downstairs for a more comfortable bed option. But we only needed a 4th bed 1 night so it was no big deal. The one comment I have about the living area is I had a hard time operating the TVs because I am not familiar with streaming media but our adult kids were able to help with that.
The little patio area was nice as an extension of kitchen space but the outdoor furniture is starting to show it's age or too many hard winters and is not quite as nice as the rest of the house. I think this area could use a little spiffing up but is was comfortable just the same. It was a good time in a lovely house. Thank you Barry.
