A great open air cottage halfway between Holetown and Speightstown that is immediately on the edge of the sea. Watch the fishes and crabs below. The deck garden with plunge pool is very relaxing, especially when watching the sunset.
Depending on if there is a storm swell, the waves breaking at the base of the house can be deafening.
Special note on Neville, the house keeper. He watched out after us on our stay, and made us feel safe and welcome, even when potentially threatened with Hurricane Tammy. š

This house took our breath away when we first accessed, literally in the water, Neville the house manager picked us up from the airport (there is a fee 120bbds) but straight to the house and no messingā¦ we Spend 10 nights here , very open and breezy with a windy day but Barbados is humid so still quite warm at night but fans on the ceilings sorting that out, the plunge pool was bigger than expected and we spend a lot of time in it and had a ball, the garden patio area is a sun trap also, the house may seem a little out the way but the bar is a 5 mins walk down the beach. And u can see it from the house , we went out of season so a lot of restaurants being refurbished ready for July but we still found some beauties , highly recommend the Jamaican jerk bar next to house, and wanders will be open in July, take a trip to the sea shed also!!! Such a nice restaurant and staff are lovely, thank u Neville and Fraser for ll ur help ( Plse thank the cleaner also ) xx

We stayed at Annabelles for my birthday. It was the best present I have ever had. The house is true Bajan style with beautiful shutters opening out on to the most stunning views of the ocean. We all felt totally relaxed and Fraser and the house manager Neville were on hand whenever we needed. The location of the house is just perfect ,it is literally right on the sea we spent lots of time snorkelling . A stroll up the beach and you are at Thunder Bay where you can enjoy a rum or two and watch the sunset thatās if you can drag yourself away from the views from the house . I absolutely loved it and hope to return again

My partner, son and I stayed at Annabelleās and had an absolutely fabulous time! The property is literally on the beach, you walk down the outside steps and you are right in the sea - the snorkelling was amazing! We brought our own masks and snorkels with us (although there were some already in the villa) and we saw every kind of tropical fish you can imagine. O noir first morning we took a walk along the beach and saw tons of turtle eggs and even a baby turtle trying to get back into the sea. We loved the fact that all the shutters to the house opened up completely - the sunsets were jaw droppingly spectacular and at night the sound of the waves crashing against the house was for us incredible - we all slept so well! For water sports and reasonably priced drinks we went to Mullins beach, just a short walk away. My 15 year old son really loved the jet skis and the cushion rides that drag you behind the speed boats. We also did a guided day tour of the island which was really fun and informative, deep sea fishing (sadly we didnāt catch anything but it was a spectacular day), the submarine (would not recommend this as it was mega expensive, the water was murky and we couldnāt see anything), and twice we went on a 4 hour catamaran trip with Good Times Catamaran company as it was just such a wonderful day each time - the crew were fantastic and the lunch and drinks provided were delicious!. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, right next door was a local Jerk Chicken place that was great - have the goat curry, you wonāt regret it. Other really good restaurants that we went to included The Beachshed, Local & Co., La Cabane and Nishi to name but a few. Neville who looks after the property picked us up from the airport and we arranged for him to get some groceries in for us as our flight arrived late in the afternoon. He was always on hand with any queries or needs we had. Fraser who owns the property was fantastic with his communication from start to finish. The villa has a wonderful bookshelf stacked with books and the terrace outside is a perfect place to read them. The plunge pool
was also great for cooling off in the day. We even had a cheeky monkey come visit us a couple of times which thrilled all of us. We really did not want to leave and hope to come back again!

Unique beach house in an amazing location
Me and my partner had a great 2 weeks at Annabelleās. The location is incredible and the place really comes into its own during the day. The decking area is great to chill and it gets the sun the entire day. Great for enjoying the lovely sunsets too. Itās definitely exposed to the elements but we knew that from the listing. It took us a day or so to adjust but once we did we never looked back. Communication with Fraser was great and would definitely recommend the place (unless you like your creature comforts in which case itās probably not for you).

Great overwater bungalow!
Couldnāt be more on the water. If you like the sound of the ocean washing away all other noise of a town this is the spot. Fraser and his crew were awesome. Super supportive and accommodating when plans got skewed by airlines. Would definitely return

I had my eye on this house since the pandemic hit and have fantasized about what it would be like - and it was exactly as I imagined and better! Something for everyone - teen sons snorkeled right in front of the house (which I think is a rare feature), we had two pristine beaches on either side of the house (Gibbs around the bend is just breathtaking), and my husband even caught a wave on the break out front. The islands best restaurants are within walking distance like Sea Shed but make reservations as the best are booked even for lunch! Wandaās next store was closed for renovations but the Jamaican Jerk was our first stop and excellent. The house is perfect for us but do bring ear plugs just in case - the sounds of the surf at night are magical but loud! I canāt imagine there are many properties like this - itās one-of-a-kind. On our last day a green monkey sat on the hood of our rental to bid us farewell. We will be back! Thank you Fraser, Neville and especially Bridgett!!!!!! Xoxoxo

A dream come true
We absolutely loved staying at Annabelles. I took my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary - they said it was the best holiday of their life.
Waking up to that view every day was wonderful.
Loved watching the tropical fish on the reef from the deck with a coffee first thing in the morning. Perfectly positioned with so much in walking distance. Swimming was outstanding - Thunder Bay to the left, Gibbes beach to the right. A little further was the fish market and John Mooreās just a few of our favourite places.
House management was outstanding. Fraser always responded quickly and Neville as always on hand to deal with any enquiry.
Totally recommend and will return to this island paradise.

Heavenly
We had a wonderful week at the villa. The position is incredible, right on the sea with snorkelling steps away. The house is unique - open to the elements, in a good way. The sound of the sea, the views and sunsets. ā¦.heavenly!
You can walk to the beach although if the sea is high it can be a bit exciting! We also walked to Speightstown and got the bus back which was fun. There is a few restaurants nearby and Simoneās on the beach does great food. Iām already planning our return! Thanks Fraser for sharing your wonderful house and for being so helpful.

We spent 10 days at Annabelles~ the most perfect 10 days. Leading up to our stay, Fraser quickly answered any questions I had & helped organize groceries and a driver for our arrival. The house itself was beyond our expectations; perched over the ocean overlooking a coral reef filled with colourful tropical fish ( perfect place if you love to snorkel as we do!). We had everyone needed and Sophia & Neville were only a phone call away if we needed anything. Next door is Wandas Beach Bar that serves delicious, homemade food ( we ate there 3 times) and also Reggies Real Jamaican Jerk, worth a few visits too. A 5 minute walk along the beach & around the corner takes you to Gibbes Beach~ it felt like a private beach just for the 4 of us.
Overall, we couldnāt have loved our stay anymore and have already booked for next year! Thank you Fraser & team for a spectacular stay š

A piece of paradise on earth
This villa fulfilled our every need for our 2.5 week Barbados holiday.
An idyllic property that panoramically unfolds as a masterly indoor-outdoor landscape. The ocean hugs this villa as a constant reminder that you are one with nature; the scents and sounds embrace your every breath.
If you are seeking a traditional and authentic beach house then you cannot find better than this. Sunsets, sea, flip flops and a good book!
Daily we sat and revelled in the bold, brilliant and rich in colour sunsets over the ocean that can be witnessed from almost every room of this property. The plunge pool on the deck is perfectly positioned to cool off in with the traditional rum punch.
Some reviews have mentioned the waves being too loud, some reviews have mentioned the property is too rustic. Both are not negatives. We found falling asleep to the lulling, and sometimes bashing of the waves below both cathartic and soothing. A week passed before we realised we had not played any music.
The somewhat rustic decor is what makes this property so special and I hope Fraser never updates this villa in a way that it looses its traditional Caribbean and beach house charm.
This villa demands a "technology detox", reconnecting with loved ones and nature.
If in doubt, just book it. You will not regret it.
This is a piece of paradise!

We stayed at Annabelles for 9 days as a family (three generations worth), and had a great time. The other reviews that state that this place is super super Bajan are totally correct. All you need is a good stock of Banks and rum and you don't even need to leave the house to feel like you're truly on vacation. The snorkeling just in front of the house is amazing. Tons of urchins, coral, fish, we even got to watch Dorado herding flying fish and frigatebirds picking off the flying fish. It was intense! One important note is that the listing says the third bedroom has a king bed. It is definitely not a king. It's a queen. This was disappointing because we specifically were putting a family of three (with a 2 year old) in the king bed. It's a large part of why we settled on this place in particular. The family made it work, but that part is inaccurate. The floors do get icky pretty quick because of the humidity and proximity to the sea - but someone comes to clean every few days, just as you're thinking that it looks a bit icky. So that works great. It's also just the price of staying literal feet from the ocean - floors and surfaces behave differently. There are no screens on any windows, so if you're zika-concerned, bring a bed net. The sea is loud from the front two rooms, but I slept with earplugs and my mom and husband did not. Just know yourself! It's so worth staying so close to the sea.The little pool was perfect for cooling off during the hot days, and made us not miss air conditioning as much as we thought we would. There's a mango tree on the property next door that was just positively shedding mangos, so we had breakfast provided ;) At one point, a monkey popped into the house while we were having lunch - it was so neat! We operated without a car, which was just fine. The bus stops right in front of the house in both directions. so we felt no need for a car. Speightstown is where we preferred to hang out for a more authentic experience, but Holetown is just south as well, for people who want to live more North American or suburban or whatever you want to call it. The house was so perfect for us in every way except the bed (but like, I wasn't about to call the owner and demand a king bed in the moment, so we just let it slide and enjoyed the vacation - but do update the listing please). Thanks so much for the memories!

Wonderful family vacation
Highly recommend! Spent four nights falling asleep to the sound of the waves and days on the water. Wonderful to have a well-equipped kitchen and all necessities... itās a no worry place. Had a wonderful meal at Da Outback (donāt be put off just try it!) and rum punch almost next door at Wandaās on the Beach - we swam there! Plenty of restaurants in nearby Holetown. Mullins Beach is the spot for boats and jet skis and we highly recommend looking up Malibu Watersports to take you snorkeling with the turtles. We will be back!!!!

A fantastic week in the most beautiful location, this house is very special and we feel lucky to have been able to stay here. We were well looked after by the very friendly Nevada and his wife. We would all thoroughly recommend this place and hope to return.

The most amazing house!
The house has a fantastic aura - if you go with it and decide that you are in love with Barbados then this is the house for you. It feels like you are partying 24 hours a day! The sea is pretty noisy but I found it incredibly relaxing. We are coming back later in the year to stay at the house as we loved it so much.

A truly magical experience - we're already booked to go back!
We had a fabulous time at Annabelleās. Itās not 5 start luxury but thatās not what itās about ā itās about opening the shutters each morning to an uninterrupted view of the sea, watching the local fisherman cast their nets off the beach as you drink youāre morning coffee, lying on the deck whilst the humming birds flutter around the bushes and having a front row seat for the sunset over a rum punch every evening. The snorkelling right in front of the house was some of the best weāve experienced and the water is so clear you can watch the fish whilst looking out from the lounge!
The house is open along the back and one side but donāt let that put you off. I was concerned about bugs as the beasties love to bite me. But actually, with just the normal precautions, I didnāt get bitten at all while at the house ā it must be the sea air or something. We also felt very safe and secure. The front of the property is fenced off and locked. Thereās a standard sized safe for valuables and the bedrooms at the rear lock so you can secure larger items like iPads and cameras while out. We left the shutters open all day (even when out) and never felt exposed. We slept in the bedroom overlooking the sea (why wouldn't you?!) and while the noise of the waves took a little getting used to at night, after the first day we were accustomed. If youāre a particularly light sleeper you might want to use ear plugs but we found sipping a couple of rums before bed made for a great nightās sleep!
The local property manger and his team took great care of us - they were on hand if needed but didn't intrude and the cleaner came every 3 days to keep the place spick and span.
Out top tips for this property would be ....
1. Snorkels and beach shoes are a must!
2. Thereās parking at the door but thereās bus stops too so a car is handy but not essential.
3. Make sure you visit the John Moore rum hut, it's just a short walk away and the locals will give you a warm Bajan welcome
4. An evening walk up the hill to "De Outback Shack" for a goat curry is also recommended.
5. If you want 5 star luxury, go to a fancy hotel.
6. If you want a magical holiday to remember, then just chill out, relax and embrace all the wonderful things this unique location has to offer.
We're already booked again for next year!

Amazing
What a fabulous villa. What else can I say. Itās in a perfect position, beautifully maintained. You can literally spend hours just gazing out to sea or watching the fish.
A short walk along the road is a fish market that seems to be open all the time and a little stall next to it where you can get your fruit and salad. While your getting that pop into John Mooreās for a drink š„
Wandaās bar is just a few yards away everyone is very friendly.
I canāt recommend this villa too highly
SIMPLY STUNNING!!!

Peaceful paradise
We love Barbados and usually stay in Payneās Bay at The House. This was totally out of our comfort zone, booking a self catering beach house, in an area we hadnāt visited previously.
Arriving at the property I knew instantly it was perfect for us and that we had definitely made the right decision. I loved the sound of the waves on the rocks below, the openness of the property, itās beautiful front porch and tropical plants, the wooden floors and shutters, ceiling fans and stunning views. If youāre looking for a true Bajan, laid back style holiday this is perfect. You are litterally on the beach! I loved everything about this property it had great character.
The management team were brilliant, extremely helpful and nothing too much trouble. We loved the area too and enjoyed eating lunch next door at Wandas fantastic food to rival The Cliff, but with a more affordable bill $68BDS lunch for two with drinks!
Annabelles for us was like Home ... weāve already booked to return.

We loved our stay. The house is completely open to the sea which is perfect for snorkeling. Very clean and well equipped. Reeds bay is a beautiful tranquil beach. Nevada could not have been more helpful.

Amazing location such a shame it was impossible to fully enjoy the experience
The property is very open and exposed to the elements and not much has been done to make the house secure, meaning we needed to be very careful with our belongings when we went out. The house alarm system is disabled, most likely due to the fact that the house is so open birds or stray cats can enter and where on the premises during our stay and would set an alarm off. The safe is very small and none of the rooms are sufficiently secure to feel confident that even your clothes would still be there when going out. Especially as it would be very easy to enter the house via the shutters that surround the house. It was also a worry when sleeping (or trying to sleep) at night because the sea was so loud you would not hear an intruder breaking in.
We also were eaten by bugs throughout the night and had no means of protecting ourselves the plugs only worked if you left the lights on so not able to plug in a bug deterrent. Because of the ceiling fans there was no way to have mosquito nets either. The bedrooms as throughout the house does not have glass windows or shutters that fully close, just slatted shutters so the sea at high tide registered at over 75.4 decibels from the constant pounding of the waves against the rocks below the house. We have not been able to sleep throughout the night in two of the bedrooms the third room at the back gave some protection from the noise. By day 5 we were all left exhausted and ready for home.
We booked 8 days and feel the house is really only suitable as a 2 day stop over experience as it is a stunning spot with huge potential and l believe it is in a run down and unsecure state because it is going to have major building work in the near future. Which will be great for future guests.
As it stands today there is a lot of manually opening and shutting of these very heavy window fittings to get the view and they need closing and locking before you go out. Whilst charming and quaint for the first few days it soon becomes a chore. I do not think the reality of staying at this property is properly addressed in the description.

WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT LOCATION
We stayed at Annabelles for 14 nights, great location and for us, a couple of 2,it was perfect
for our stay. Good facilities, excellent accommodation, good w-fi connection, no issues wit the property. Only disappointment were the organisation aspects of our booking,
nobody available on arrival, a little harrowing, when standing outside the property at 9.00pm in the dark and no life evident. Luckily people in the neighbourhood rallied around and
we finally located the n site manage, who wasn't sure when we were scheduled to arrive. Finally got access at 1100pm, Manager couldn't apologise any more, she was
embarrassed. Maid turned up 2 days late as she too didn't have any ideas we were even in the property!! However once all these issues were resolved, we couldn't fault the property andthe service thereafter. Would certainly recommend staying there, but one thing the property needs is AC, fans on there own doesn't cool the property down enough at night, therefore itwas tough going trying to sleep.

Classic Barbados Beach House
This property could not be any closer to the ocean! The house is an older house with so much charm and character. The openness of the house is what really impressed us. The interior has a Caribbean cottage feel with the beautiful wood ceilings and bright colors. Having the ability to open all of the shutters and let the breeze flow through the house kept it very nice temperature wise. All three bedrooms were a good size and both bathrooms were quite large. The kitchen facilities were all we really needed. The only thing we were missing was a blender and some speakers to plug our music into. Having a washer and dryer on site was also very handy. We had come from another island with no laundry facilities so we ended up making good use of it. The side deck has really comfortable sun loungers with cushions. The little plunge pool was so refreshing after being in the hot sun. You are able to walk down the front steps and access the sea. We wore water shoes when we did this as there are sea urchins in the reef. I would sit on the steps every morning with my tea and watch the fisherman with their nets and wait for the sun to rise. This is an older home and being right on the water there is quite a bit of wear and tear on parts of the house but in general it is really well kept. I read a comment that the ocean was very loud and that certainly can be the case depending on where the tide is at but it beats a loud road or nightclub any day. The logistics of finding it proved a little difficult as we arrived in the dark but that couldn't be avoided. You are very close to two small beautiful beaches and just a little north is Mullins Beach Bar which has chairs to rent and a fantastic restaurant. The local bus stop is right out the drive way from the house so getting to Holetown or Speightstown was super easy. Can't say enough about this house. If your looking for super duper fancy this may not be the best match but if you are looking for a clean, classic Caribbean cottage this hits the mark. Andrew and Veronica were great to deal with. Veronica was there to meet us upon arrival and departure. I can say this for sure, if we return to Barbados we would not hesitate renting this wonderful property again.

Great location with amazing views. A fantastic experience!
We took our 3 grandchildren, 4, 7 and 9 and had a great stress free holiday. Good service from the island team who fixed up taxi's and food for us and really made us all feel at home. What really makes this house work is it's location and stunning open aspect outlook. Good access to the west coast with all it's amenities and interests. Eating locally caught fix from the market and cooking up a simple dinner whilst enjoying the view was all part of this get away holiday that all the party enjoyed. This was our first time in Barbados and we were overwhelmed by how friendly and helpful everyone was. Overall the house provided the perfect base and backdrop on which to experience Barbados.

Fantastic position
Wonderful stay, walking distance of the fish market, Mullins Bar and De Outback. Very spacious and comfortable accommodation though does need a bit of updating and the lighting is not good enough for reading. Problem in 2 of the bedrooms, wall plugs are operated by main light switch so could not have anti mosquito diffuser on at night so got very bitten!

The best holiday ever !
Annabelle's is the most amazing place to stay. It was our first trip to Barbados and we went with high hopes of white sandy beaches with hardly anyone else on them. We weren't disappointed. The house is so ideally located that with just a short clamber over the rocks, you reach the most deserted and beautiful beach. The house itself is a true beach house, with the noise of the sea and the dramatic views, it is amazing and hard to beat. We love the true feel of the house, which although exceptionally clean and gorgeous, also has the style of a natural, beach comber, property, with authentic, relaxed feel. Our children, 18,16, 13 and 9 loved the house and the area. Although we did get soaked walking to Mullins as the tide was a particularly high spring tide, it was another favourite of the holiday, and having such a cool and fun bar within walking distance meant that odd days we walked round to have rum punches and trips on the Big Mable boat rides. I can't thank Andrew and his team enough. Mavis the cleaner was wonderful, as was Veronica. I think perhaps Ricky the gardener was the person who made our trip truly special as he took us out on his little fishing boat and found us the most turtles to swim with ever. Such an amazing experience. Thank you

A privilege to stay here
It was a complete privilege to stay at Annabelle's. The sea is noisy which is mentioned in other reviews) but we loved it. This is not a pristine business like hotel, but someone's home with open shutters, a fabulous deck, comfortable beds, everything we needed for cooking and views which few people in the world will ever have the experience of seeing. To sit in the plunge pool, watch the sun go down and drink a rum punch will be a memory for all of my life.
