Having undergone a complete makeover both inside and out this warm, cosy cottage features a new kitchen and bathroom, retaining the original gloriously deep bathtub, just perfect for lengthy soaks. Tastefully decorated with new carpet, modern furniture, electronics, appliances, and contemporary decor. Original works of art from some of Wanganui's finest artists are on display. Treat yourself to a range of complimentary eco-friendly toiletries, organic teas, hot chocolate, and coffees, including from an Nespresso machine. Entertain yourself with SKY TV on the large-screen TV, watch a DVD or listen to your favourite music on the entertainment system with ipod doc. Ultra-fast fibre broadband WIFI. Retire into luxurious beds featuring luxury linens, electric blankets, and soft mattress underlays. Infants catered for with a complimentary porta-cot, high chair, and stroller/pram available upon request. Fully fenced front and back sections with ample room for outside play. Attractive accommodation - clean, fresh, tidy, tasteful interior, well-presented bedrooms & lounge - in a really impressive location ... relaxing serene atmosphere on the quiet south side of Whanganui River with beautiful forest & hill views ... excellent communication from hosts (who went out of their way to accommodate us) ... only stayed 1 night but would've liked longer to properly enjoy the balcony, birdsong & backyard.

Wow, this is my first time in a book-a-Bach, I think I have been spoilt! I have always wanted to stay on Durie Hill, and I wasn’t disappointed. A lovely house, fully furnished and stocked well. The views were great with native Kereru present too. Highly recommend, thank-you so much!

Very tidy and well appointed home. Fantastic location and has everything you need for a trip away. Great outdoor space for the dog and being fully fenced is perfect. Owner was very welcoming and easy to deal with and communicate with.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house had everything we needed and we were just over the bridge from town. Fully fenced property for the dog, and a sunny deck to sit on and relax. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Whanganui.

Neat property set in an almost rural setting. About a 10 minute walk to town so you can justify that dessert after dinner. Very peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The bach is very livable with some lovely hotel like touches. Beds are comfortable and warm and the house is lovely and clean. It's so close to town and yet feels far enough away to relax. The hill views are nice and the birdsong was lovely. We definitely would recommend staying here and hope to stay again. Thanks!

Excellent setting, minutes from city centre, handy to lots of attractions, easy walking distance to Town & Riverfront... Really clean & tidy, house which is Very Well equipped. Communication with extra helpful Owners is easy, they ensured everything was a breeze. Nice bushy valley outlook. Quiet street, easy parking, established neighbourhood. Plan for a longer stay in proper home away from home.

A group of four adults used this as our base whilst competing in the NZ Masters Games. I regularly heard positive comments from the others throughout our stay. The most telling comment was "next time, we'll stay here again!".

Well equipped, had everything we needed and beyond including BBQ and coffee machine. We loved the fact that the house was within 10 min walking distance to the town centre but nice and quiet looking out over a green valley.
