Situated in Red Lodge, this charming house for $822 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. "It's vacation time! The rustic themed Spruce Lodge is centrally air conditioned and fully equipped. The home overlooks the entire village of Red Lodge from its enormous east facing deck. This upper level deck is located off the great room and has two large picnic tables with outdoor BBQ. There are unobstructed western views of the nearby Red Lodge Ski Mountain. Beartooth Mountain views further commands western vistas. Mt. Maurice is fully visible to the south. It would be difficult to match the majestic mountain setting of this log home. The Lodge is located on ten acres and is the only home in the city limits of the village of Red Lodge that is perched on the western bench between town and the fairgrounds. There are living rooms on two levels of this three-story lodge. The space is ideal for an extended family, or several families combined. This home is welcoming and can deliver an authentic Montana lodging experience. A horseshoe pit is located in the side yard and wildlife is on the property year 'round. We commonly have does and new fawns munching on the lawn in the early summer. NB. Please respect that this is a 3500 square foot home and not an event space. Large gatherings are neither encouraged nor permitted. If you have any questions concerning these guidelines, please contact us before booking. The home is arranged as follows: The upper-level loft has two queen beds and twin day bed. This level has a full bath. The main level contains the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and modern appliances including dishwasher. There is an open great room, dining area, primary suite, laundry room, half bath and ski room/reading nook entry. The primary suite with a king bed is on this main floor. Its bath has a walk-in tiled shower. Additionally, there is large closet / dressing room en suite. There is Wi-Fi throughout the house. The lower level has a living room with a Smart TV, foosball, large lounging sofas flanked by three bedrooms and a full bath with separate shower and bathtub. Two of the bedrooms have a bunk with a queen-sized bed and a twin. The third bedroom has four twins. All of these bedrooms have enormous closets. Access to the covered 6-person hot tub (available year-round), lower patio and seasonal outdoor shower is from this lower level. There is ample parking for 6 vehicles. The property fronts the ~3 mile long Red Lodge hiking and biking trail which leads to an enclosed dog park. We are dog friendly (up to 2 Dogs). It is an easy 10 minute stroll on this same path to the airstrip and Rodeo of Champions fairgrounds to the west. Spruce Lodge is located 7.4 miles from Red Lodge Mountain and just a few blocks from Highway 212 which is also known as the Beartooth National Scenic Hiway. This route features the stunning Beartooth Pass and is the gateway to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

The property was phenomenal, the views, the wildlife. We all had plenty of space . The hot tub was an added feature to watch all the wildlife and beautiful views of town . Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

This large log home is a great base for ski weekend. The views are amazing. The location is great. There are plenty of comfortable beds and the hot tub feels great after a long day outside. The kitchen is spacious for gathering. Downsides (which are NOT enough to prevent us from wanting to stay at this house) include not having a television set up that really allows for a group to watch a movie or show together and the kitchen supplies. There seemed to be well over 50 glasses/mugs (maybe 100) but no ice cream scoop or decent pancake flipper and lots of cooking pans were miss mash and appeared decades old. One settled for a less than sharp knife for cutting up produce. That being said, we really enjoyed our stay at Spruce Lodge and always enjoy Red Lodge.

We would love to come back sometime! The only recommendation I have is to replace the chairs that have metal frames (there were 4 or 6 of them). These were SO HEAVY incredibly difficult to move, even just to pull in and out to sit down! Also, the sectional seating in the corner of the living room didn't serve its purpose well by being placed in the corner, out of the way. What WOULD be a better use of the living room for a large group (we had 10 adults) would have been another 1-2 couches or loveseats surrounding the gas fireplace, near the single couch. We noticed that ladies would sit on the couch, and then the only other option was to pull up a chair from the dining table, which isn't comfortable for long. The sectional couch was in an awkward spot that wasn't good for cohesive group hanging-out. The 2-seater table against the wall wasn't useful, since there was a large dining table and plenty of surface space. It just took up valuable space where another couch could've gone. Let me know if I can explain this better. They were very responsive when I called to ask a question during checkout.

Our family really enjoyed the accommodations at Spruce Lodge. The lodge was spacious and well appointed for our cooking and entertainment needs. We really appreciated the hot tub for relaxing after our outdoor adventures on Beartooth Pass. The views and wildlife were very Montana. If we get back to Red Lodge again, Spruce Lodge will be at the top of our list.

A few weeks ago we stayed at Spruce Lodge for the second time because we enjoyed it so much the first time! The setting and (sweeping) views are idyllic and peaceful, and the amenities are spot on. I especially appreciate the ability to cook in a spacious, well-equipped kitchen while I am away from home! We love the proximity to downtown Red Lodge and the overall experience of our stay here while in Montana. Highly recommended! Thank you!
