The host is lovely and you meet a lot of nice people there. They arrange the tour to Tumpak Sewu without problems and because it starts at 5.30 you get there earlier than most other visitors. It’s very uncomplicated. Also there’s are earrings nearby if you walk a little so food is no problem (if you have the stomach for it :D). You get a very lovely stay for a very cheap price.
This is just for awareness:
It is very in nature so you will meet some little insect guests and mosquitoes. If you’re bothered by that bring a net. There are chickens, dogs, a mosque and a street nearby as well as people leaving at ungodly hours for Bromo or Sewu so if you wake easily bring some noise canceling. This is the peak backpacker experience for people looking for a hotel with pool go somewhere else!

- Vico and his wife are amazing! Super welcoming, and supporting. The tours they offers are amazing, week organized and competitive in price respect to the competitors. The wife take care also of the food: DELICIOUS. I tried almost everything on the menu and was super tasty!
- dorms are confy and clean
- bathrooms clean with hot water
- kitchen and fridge availables (always useful)
- nice garden as sharing area
- refillable water and free coffee and tea
- the hostel is quote dar from the city but the service and the calm it offers worth it

Very friendly and welcoming staff. They were always available to help us with any questions or issue (thank you to the 1 staff member who helped us with the motor rental company issue). They would also give us fruit to try which is very nice of them. We also booked the Mt Bromo tour with them and that went very smoothly.
Cleanliness and sanitation at the property could be improved. Toilets are old and dirty. Shower pressure is quite poor as well. There is also quite a big ant problem (we didn’t keep any food in the room) but you see a trail of them on the wall and some will find their way on your things and in the bed.
