Nestled in Jan Thiel, this attractive villa for $173 per night is a great choice for your next break. In a wonderful tropical garden you find villa "Colina II"" with its own swimming pool. The villa is situated south east of Willemstad in the most luxurious area of the town. It is close to Jan Sofat and the beaches of Jan Thiel/Zanzibar, Caracas bay, Sea aquarium/Mambo Beach, Pietermaai. The villa has a large (covered) deck/veranda with lounge beds and diner table with six seats. It is situated next to the swimming pool with a deck and sun beds as well. There is an outside shower and a barbecue

The house was really beautiful and we had some weather but the patio is covered and the furniture was clean and comfortable outside ( not hard plastic) like other places we looked. Kitchen is well stocked (except for potholders) and clean! We used the cooler for the beach which was nice for tugboat as there isn’t a restaurant but there is great snorkeling. The bed is big and comfortable with netting. Bring lots of mosquito spray if you go n the rainy season..Also there is a working washer but it took 3 days for clothes to dry in the rainy season. The family on this property are non intrusive but available and warm. I will definitely stay again after the holidays.

We really enjoyed the place and it's privacy.
The Host Peter and Wilma are fantastic, super nice people and a joy to have a chat with. We also enjoyed the daily visit of the Dog's Lexi and Tara. it was very comfortable to be picked and dropped of at the airport by the Hosts. Temperature's in September where a bit hot but luckily the pool was there to cool us of. You will need some mosquito repellent in this time of the year

Fantastic and relaxing stay!
Peter and Wilma's wonderful home was the perfect place for us to relax, unwind, and unplug for our vacation. It was clean and comfortable, and the outside/pool area was amazing! We spent a lot of time at the villa, and we loved every minute. There were definitely mosquitoes, but Peter and Wilma provided coils to burn, bug spray, and a fan. Those helped a lot! You will have absolute privacy here. We also cooked several meals (and made plenty of rum punch), and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Peter and Wilma also gave us a lot of recommendations for restaurants, shopping, beaches, and etc. They even helped us when we left one of our prescriptions at home. Thank you so much for everything, Peter and Wilma!

Truly a Wonderful Villa & Hosts!
Wilma & Peter met us at the airport in the SUV we rented from them taking us 'home' to the villa - its nice to feel so welcomed, thank you! The villa is perfect for a couple, every amenity we could think of provided and more (even a cooler), mostly we loved the amazing outdoor living area and pool.
Peter & Wilma are very approachable and have a wealth of knowledge about the island, where to eat, what to visit, even which routes avoid traffic (most useful, thank you Peter!) A few minor mishaps (usual wear 'n tear/ maintenance issues) were dealt with immediately, easily & with understanding. We loved the family dogs sneaking in for visits and it felt like home right from the start.
The villa, garden & pool is very clean & well kept, everything is very tastefully done, its a very relaxing environment to spend time in, just as photos show but if possible, better!
We were delighted one evening to be serenaded by Peter's Jazz band. It was the best! We can't say enough good things about our time there and are already planning out next visit. Thank you kindly Wilma & Peter and we look forward to meeting again soon.

Great Vacation Stay
Just finished a 2 week stay here and it was totally awesome! Our first time to Curaçao and our accommodations were so nice, we had to force ourselves to leave the place and explore the island. Peter and Wilma live right next door so was easy to communicate with them if we had to but still had total privacy. If we ever come back to Curaçao will definitely contact them to stay at their place. Thank you Peter and Wilma for letting us stay at your place.

R&R in Curacao
Our first time visit to Curacao was outstanding! The property was first rate with all the comforts of home. Renting the SUV offered with the villa proved to be essential for our shopping needs and sightseeing trips around the island. Our hosts, Wilma and Peter, were most helpful and generous with their knowledge of the island, their availability to pick us up, and their warm welcome to "our home" for two weeks. We must say that the pool was an absolute highlight for us. Swimming and reading were major components of our stay! We would highly recommend this property for anyone searching for a fabulous retreat.

Traumhaft!
Wir haben die Villa Colina Dos im Dezember 2019 als Paar für 14 Tage besucht und es war einfach traumhaft! Die Villa befindet sich in einer exklusiveren Wohngegend und liegt Ideal zwischen Jan Thiel und Willemstad. Sie ist komplett eingerichtet, mit allem was man so braucht. Das Leben findet aufgrund der Temperaturen und der offenen Architektur der Villa im Freien statt. Die Klimaanlage im Wohn- und Schlafraum kam bei uns immer nur Nachts zum Einsatz. Das war aber auch notwendig, da die Nächte dort auch sehr warm sind. Nach einer Woche fand die Zwischenreinigung und die Pool-Reinigung statt. Beides wurde sehr gründlich durchgeführt und hat unseren Aufenthalt nicht gestört. Peter und Wilma haben eine sehr nette und dezente Art. Dank des uneinsehbaren Gartens mit privatem Pool ist die eigene Privatsphäre jederzeit gewährt. Wilma und Peter stehen für alle Fragen gerne zur Verfügung und geben einem nützliche Tipps. Insbesondere haben wir das Auto, das wir direkt bei den Vermietern gemietet haben ganz intensiv genutzt, um die Insel zu erkunden. Praktisch war auch das elektrische Gartentor. Auf Curacao konnten wir einen wundervollen Urlaub verbringen und jeden Tag das Frühstück und das Abendessen auf der Terrasse genießen. Auch ein Weber-Grill ist vorhanden und kann genutzt werden.

Traum Urlaub - perfektes Haus für entspannten Urlaub
Schon die Kommunikation vor dem Urlaub war war herzlich, unkompliziert und informativ. Wir wurden von Peter und Wilma vom Flughafen abgeholt. Dabei haben wir direkt ein paar nützliche Tipps und erste Eindrücken von Willemstad erhalten. Das Haus und der Pool sind ein Traum. Einmal die Woche kam eine ganz liebe Putzhilfe, die das Haus wieder auf Hochglanz gebracht hat und auch die Handtücher und Bettwäsche gewechselt hat. Das Grundstück ist uneinsehbar. Wir haben es genossen mal einige Wochen hüllenlos zu chillen und zu baden. Ab und zu bekamen wir Besuch von den wirklich ganz lieben Hunden von Peter und Wilma. Wir haben das genossen.
Das waren wundervolle 3 Wochen, die wie im Flug vergangen sind. Auch das Tauchen auf Curaçao lohnt sich. Wir haben fantastische Tauchgänge absolvieren können. Es war gut, auch das Auto gleich mit zu mieten. Der Toyota ließ sich gut fahren und um zu manchen Stränden oder die Nationalparks zu kommen ist Allrad sinnvoll.
Wir würden gerne irgendwann wiederkommen.

Super schön und ruhig

Wonderful villa own by beautiful people
A big thank you to our host Wilma and peter that make our stay on this beautiful island a blessing ... the location of the villa is fantastic ( close to manbo beach and his restaurant and resort : lions dive resort is the best . The villa is way better than expected with a great pool and an outdoor shower . The room is huge so is the kitchen furnished with all the spices to cook a good breakfast ( any hotel or resort is 20 bucks per person and per day so make the math ) we are already planning to come back again and again ... thank you so much for all the advices and tips from Wilma and peter . You are wonderful .

A Wunderful Tropical Villa!!
The villa is absolutely beautiful and perfect for any couple. The pictures and description of the property are accurate - the pool with surrounding patio are very private with an ample kitchen, bedroom with a walk in closet and casual living room. The villa was very clean, well kept with up to date furnishings and has everything you need to prepare meals.
When not spending time at one of the nearby beaches or walking around Willemstad - you will enjoy time relaxing around the pool with a cool drink and plenty of sunshine!

perfect getaway
It has been 12 years since i was in Curacao and progress is nice to see!. This home is located in a very nice neighborhood. The pool and area around the pool is designed so you are very comfortable to sit outside for long periods of time. Bedrooms were cooled within 5 mins. Also, rental of SUV was a nice touch. Peter and Wilma were very attentive and extremely courteous. Requests were acted on very promptly. We travel yearly to Aruba and St Maarten but added Curacao and this home to our travel list.

We came to Curaçao in April with our two kids ( 9 and 12)
All of us enjoyed our stay very much! Peter and his family are super friendly! There is everything you need in this house!
If you want to see great Curaçao spots you will need a car!
The car you can rent with the house was just perfect to get around the island.
Eventhough Peter & Wilma live next door you have all the privacy you need for a relaxing vacation! The pool and the BBQ were in use all the time!

Echte aanrader voor een vakantie in luxe en rust
Bij aankomst de zekerheid dat we ons niet druk hoefden te maken of we het adres zouden vinden want we hadden de auto erbij gehuurd en werden van het vliegveld opgehaald door Peter en Wilma, de verhuurders van de villa. Twee verschrikkelijk aardige mensen die ons onderweg naar de villa al het nodige van Willemstad en het eiland lieten zien en er ook nog het nodige over konden en wilden vertellen Aangekomen bij de villa konden we ons eerst verfrissen en omkleden en daarna werd alle tijd genomen om ons de villa te laten zien en hoe een en ander werkte met verlichting en airconditioning. Samen hebben we de fles bubbels gedronken die al voor ons gekoeld stond in de amerikaanse koelkast met ijsblokje machine en koelwater dispenser. Dat deden we op de fantastische brede porch/veranda met ligbedden en eettafel met uitzicht op ons eigen zwembad welke je s' avonds heel feeëriek kunt verlichten.
Gedurende ons verblijf werd ons absolute privacy gegund en hebben we ons nooit onveilig gevoeld omdat het terrein aan alle kanten is afgesloten, zonder dat het opvalt.
De huur van de auto bleek een gouden greep want die heb je wel nodig op het eiland om naar de binnenstad te rijden, ongeveer 10 minuten, of naar de stranden of een van de mooie baaien om te snorkelen op het eiland. Peter en Wilma kunnen je daarover heel goede informatie geven.
Het is echter ook beslist geen straf om gewoon thuis te blijven om te lezen, boeken zijn aanwezig, en af en toe een duik te nemen in het zwembad of onder de buitendouche te gaan staan om af te koelen.
Koken is ook geen straf want de keuken is van alle gemakken voorzien, behalve een afwasmachine. Maar Peter heeft uitgelegd dat een afwasmachine waar de vaat een of twee dagen in blijft staan geen goed idee is in de tropen in verband met ongedierte dat je dan krijgt.
En samen afwassen, langer als 5 minuten heb je niet nodig, is ook leuk. Slapen doe je heerlijk op een meer dan prima bed, al of niet onder de klamboe, want als je de ramen en deur van de slaapkamer dichthoudt heb je geen last van de muggen.
Al met al hebben we ontzettend genoten en hebben met Peter en Wilma al weer afspraken gemaakt voor 3 weken in november en december van dit jaar.
De villa is een echte aanrader voor een paar of twee paren want de studio die als tweede slaapkamer dient heeft een eigen badkamer en keuken met een eigen ingang. Het enige dat je moet delen is dan het zwembad.

Sehr feines Ferienhaus, toller Vermieter
Das Haus hat alles, inclusive einer grossen und gemuetlichen Porche, unter der das Leben stattfindet, wenn man nicht gerade im Pool ist. Die Besitzer wohnen nebenan, sind ausgesprochen sympatisch und zurückhaltend. Abends gibt es gelegentlich ein wenig schöne Klaviermusik. Auch Luna, der Hund kommt mal rum, um ein paar Streicheleinheiten zu erhaschen. Wir fuehlten uns sehr wohl und sicher in dem Haus. Alles war bei Übergabe supersauber.
Die Kücheneinrichtung ist gut. Lediglich eine Salatschleuder hätten wir gern gehabt. Aber es geht auch mit dem Geschirrhandtuch. Der riesige Kühlschrank spendiert Eis und kaltes Trinkwasser.
Wir haben das Auto mitgemietet. Peter hat uns vom Flughafen abgeholt, eine Stadtrundfahrt mit uns gemacht und uns gleich wichtige Dinge gezeigt, wie kostenlose Parkplätze, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Besonderheiten im Strassenverkehr. Das Auto zu mieten können wir empfehlen. Zur Offline Navigation hatten wir die Karte von Curacao aus der App "maps.me" auf das Handy geladen - perfekt! Auto USB Stecker und zweites Ladekabel waren sehr hilfreich.
Der Sundowner unter der Kokospalme war jedesmal ein Genuss.
Fazit: Sehr schoenes Haus zur sehr schoenen Insel.

Karibikfeeling pur
Wir waren im Februar 2017 für 2 Wochen auf Curacao und haben jeden einzelnen Tag in dieser herrlichen Unterkunft bei den äusserst freundlichen Gastgebern Wilma und Peter Brouwers sehr genossen. Alles ist genauso wie beschrieben, es hat an nichts gefehlt . Der Maßstab für die nächste Karibikreise ist jetzt natürlich sehr hoch. 😊 Wir würden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen.

This is the place to stay in Curacao!
This property and its owners made our stay in Curacao. We visited Curacao for the first time, as a Honeymoon trip. The property was great in every respect. Its one bedroom, bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, living room, outdoor area, and private pool were all we needed for our stay. The pool made the trip. Curacao is warm, but the pool was there to cool us down, and provide a beautiful romantic ambiance that was just perfect day & night. The owners picked us up at the airport, took us on a tour of Willemstad, and were so very helpful during our entire stay. We will most definitely return.

Wunderbarer Ausgangsort, um Curacao kennenzulernen...
Die Villa befindet sich in einem gehobenen Wohnviertel im Randgebiet von Willemstad. Die Lage hat sich als idealer Ausgangsort für die Erkundung der Insel erwiesen.
Die Wohnräume sind großzügig geschnitten, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Direkt vom Wohnzimmer gelangt man auf den komplett eingewachsenen, weitläufigen, beschatteten Terrassenbereich mit eigenem Pool. Zahlreiche Sitzmöbel, ein großer Esstisch, Liegen, Stühle, eine Aussendusche, ein großer Gasgrill, Sonnenschirm und verschiedene Außenleuchten sind vorhanden. Kostenloses WLAN ist ebenfalls verfügbar. Die offene Küche ist geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein Highlight ist der riesige Kühlschrank mit Icemaker und Zapfstelle für gekühltes Wasser. Im Schlafzimmer und im Wohnzimmer sind separate Klimaanlagen vorhanden. Für Familien kann eine zweite, direkt angrenzende Wohnung zusätzlich angemietet werden. Strom wird am Ende mit der Kaution verrechnet. Vorsorglich sollte man sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass Strom auf Curacao relativ teuer ist und man die Klimaanlagen deshalb sehr bewusst einsetzen sollte.
Peter und Wilma, die ausgesprochen liebenswerten und sympathischen Vermieter, wohnen direkt nebenan und stehen jederzeit mit Rat und Tat bereit. Sie haben uns viele wertvolle Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt mit auf den Weg gegeben und den Transfer vom und zum Flughafen selbstverständlich übernommen. Nebenbei ist Peter ein begnadeter Klavier- und Saxofon - Künstler, der auch gerne mal eine kleine Kostprobe seines Könnens preisgibt.
Der optional angebotene Toyota Geländewagen ist zwar nicht mehr ganz neu, aber unserer Meinung nach ein optimales Fahrzeug für Curacao´s Strassen und die teilweise etwas beschwerlichen Schotterpisten zu den abgelegeneren Stränden. Das Auto parkt direkt vor der Tür, das Grundstück ist durch ein elektrisches Tor gesichert.
Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder dort wohnen und grenzenlose Gastfreundschaft der Beiden geniessen.
Absolute Bestnote ohne Einschränkungen !

Unvergesslicher Urlaub auf Curacao
Wenn auch etwas verspätet, kommt nun auch unsere Rezession:
Vom 29. Juni bis zum 13. Juli waren wir, Familie Knoll (3 Personen), das erste Mal auf Curacao. Unsere Unterkunft haben wir über den Anbieter „FeWo-Direkt“ gebucht und waren sehr gespannt auf unseren Urlaub. Von Anfang an haben uns die Bilder der Villa „Colina Dos“ gefesselt und wir konnten es kaum abwarten alles bald in real-life zu erleben.
Dort angekommen, wurden wir von Max, einem Taxifahrer und Freund von Familie Brouwers, empfangen und zur Unterkunft gebracht. Als Begrüßung machte er erstmal einen kleinen Zwischenstopp an einem Laden und lud uns auf ein kühles Getränk ein, was bei den heißen Temperaturen auch wirklich guttat!
Endlich angekommen war die Erleichterung erst einmal groß. Die Unterkunft sah genauso aus wie auf den Bildern und Familie Brouwers hat sich auch aufrichtig gefreut, uns drei in Empfang zu nehmen.
So haben wir also unseren knapp zweiwöchigen Urlaub auf der kleinen aber feinen Insel Curacao verbracht; gut untergekommen in einer wunderschönen Unterkunft mit sehr netten Leuten.
In dem Haus selbst war alles Notwendige (und mehr) vorhanden und falls Fragen aufkamen, konnte man jederzeit jemanden ansprechen und es wurde einem geholfen.
Von großem Vorteil war auch der eigene Pool, denn besonders am Wochenende können die Strände sehr voll sein.
Auch die Möglichkeit, dort direkt ein Auto mieten zu können, ist Goldwert, denn die schönsten Strände und Sehenswürdigkeiten waren oft etwas weiter entfernt. Insider sightseeing-Tipps und ähnliches gab es natürlich auch und so wurde der Urlaub zu einem unvergesslichen und erholsamen Erlebnis :-)
Generell ist die Villa „Colina Dos“ in einer sehr ruhigen und sicheren Lage und man kann in vollen Zügen entspannen.
Jederzeit würden wir wieder bei Familie Brouwers die Villa „Colina Dos“ buchen und legen dies jedem ans Herz, der gerne einmal seinen Urlaub auf Curacao verbringen möchte!

Perfect way to avoid the resort
My husband and I stayed in the one bedroom villa in January 2016 for a week. The owners were extremely helpful in orienting us to Curacao and took a lot of time showing us how to get to different beaches and restaurants. The helpfulness of this cannot be understated given the lack of road signs! The villa is located within a quiet neighborhood, but is in easy reach of everywhere you'll want to go.
The villa is absolutely perfect for two people. It is exactly as pictured: lovely, totally private pool with surrounding patio, ample kitchen and bedroom with roomy closet and casual living room. The villa was clean, well organized and has everything you need to cook meals for yourself. Since restaurant prices are not cheap, we made good use of the kitchen and gas grill. In our VRBO experience, this was one of the best stocked kitchens we've had.
We spent the majority of our time on the patio. I cannot imagine a better place to relax while drinking coffee, eating a meal or having drinks under the stars. And, as if that is not enough, the family dogs come by for visits!
If you want to feel like your at home, only better, you can't go wrong!

Super villa en super vakantie
Wij hadden een super vakantie. We hadden de Villa voor 8 dagen (7 Nachten) gehuurd gedurend de laatste week van Mei.
De Villa was zelfs nog mooier als verwacht, de villa ziet er zo uit als op de foto´s en het zwembad is heerlijk! We hebben vele fijne avonden in de tuin verbracht. De Villa is gelegen op een privé grondstuk. De eigenaren wonen ernaast, en zijn bereikbaar voor vragen, maar zorgen ervoor dat je niet gestoord wordt en van je vakantie heerlijk kunt genieten. Wij werden ontvangen door de dochter van de eigenaren (Inki), een super gastvrouw die ons ook nog veel tips heeft gegeven! Wij hadden ook direct een auto gehuurd, een "4-wheel-drive" die op het eiland een goede keuze is. Je kunt natuurlijk ook op het vliegveld of in Willemstad een auto huren, maar hier krijg je vooral kleine huur auto´s zoals een kia picanto, deze zijn bij de vele niet geasvalteerde wegen niet handig.
De Villa ligt dichtbij verschillende stranden en ook zijn er veel supermarkten en restaurantjes in de buurt. Willemstad is ook niet ver weg en hierdoor ligt de Villa perfect, maar een auto is wel noodzakelijk om snel en makkelijk van A naar B te komen. Wij zitten er ook over te denken binnenkort nog een keer terug te komen, aangezien het ons zo goed is bevallen!

Comfortable and nice
We really enjoyed our stay at Colna Dos. Peter and Wilma were friendly, funny and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The outdoor space was amazing and there were virtually no bugs. The pool was perfect.
This is a very good location for excursions to downtown or Caracas bay. To get to the diving and beaches at west point the drive is around an hour. The traffic can be frustrating and the roads confusing. Our best dives were from a boat off the east end. The shore diving was very good, some sites were much better than others.
We did a lot of cooking at home and found an outstanding gourmet market in Jan Thiel (bring a Dutch phrase book). They had great pre made scalloped potatoes, sausages, and really nice deserts.
We loved the comfort of coming back to a really nice,simple place.
