You'd think that staying at Little Kestrel Cabin for three days when there were two named storms (Storm Austen and Storm Boelo) might have put a dampener on our holiday, but the cabin was so comfortable and cosy that the storms were no more than a minor inconvenience. In fact, I don't think there's anything nicer than stoking up the wood-burning stove and curling up on the sofa while winds are howling around the walls and the rain's battering the windows. Neither made their way inside! The distant view of the Dovey floodplain from the cabin is spectacular, especially so on our last morning when the river had broken its banks and we felt we'd awoken in a strange new watery world. The cabin itself is so thoughtfully kitted out and decorated with style and wit (we appreciated the Kestrel-themed memorabilia). The location is idyllic - peaceful, secluded and verdant. Tracy and David were perfect hosts, providing advice and assistance where required. Thank you both for a wonderful stay!

What did I like about the property?
What was there not to like? It was set back from everything else on its own little lane overlooked the valleys and the hills in the distance. It was peaceful and the cabin was amazing quaint, clean and comfortable.

Wonderful little place - so peaceful (bar the sheep baaing!). Decor very homely. Our boys loved the tree swing and sitting out on the decking for tea.
Kitchen had everything you needed to make a proper meal. Shower nice and hot. Beds comfy.
Not necessarily a dislike but a warning about the drive and parking. The cabin is accessed up a rutted narrow track with a small area at the top for parking and then turning round. Our Skoda Superb easily made it up and down the track but the area to turn in at the top is broadly a foot wider than the Superb is long.
Also, whilst there is a washing machine the site rules state you can't dry it outside. But no indoor airer we found at property either?

The cabin was absolutely perfect!! They have truly thought of everything. It felt like such a fun adventure for our 3 boys. Amazing views from the decking. Would highly recommend to anyone.
I guess just not having a little local shop to walk to. But it’s a short drive to a petrol station with a good shop.
