Conveniently situated, rooms spacious and clean. Reception staff as helpful as they could be. Breakfast lovely.
Just minor things first room we had the hook was hanging off in shower room so nowhere to hang towels. Second room to remote didn’t work, we emailed to let them know and later received a response to say someone has been over but we didn’t hear the door. Very noisy during the night due to people shouting in street but thats just unfortunate

As always, I love staying here. Nice area, very quiet hotel and lovely views from balcony room.
The shower pressure was extremely poor in the morning. Rooms need to invest in air conditioning even with balcony room. Not enough mirrors.

It was ideally located for a visit to Colchester castle.
It didn’t realise it was an unstaffed property and to get your key, reception and breakfast you had to walk up the road to a different hotel.
The shower was cold.
There were nasty stains on the floor and wall.
It was very noisy at night
