The room was too small and the shape of it was not my favorite. But it was all clean, cosy and confortable, so did not matter at all !

The bed was comfortable and I liked that there was a choice of pillows with different heights. The location was also great and I liked that the receptionist explained everything very clearly upon my arrival. She also recommended a brasserie with local food.
It was confusing that my confirmation said check-in is from 14:00-21:00 but when I indicated that I would arrive between 19:30 and 20:30, apparently this was treated as a ‘late check-in’ that had to be approved by the property separately.
What was really bizarre though, was the reaction of the receptionist when I told her that I had a very unpleasant night and could hardly sleep. There was a stale air in my room when I arrived, which didn’t clear even after leaving my window slightly open while I was out for dinner. For this reason, I left the window slightly open for the night, but as there was no mosquito net on it, I ended up with a lot of mosquitos in the room that didn’t let me sleep.
When I explained this to the receptionist the next morning, her response lacked basic hospitality. Instead of offering an apology for a ruined night of sleep, she suggested the smell came from the kitchen. I explained that it was a very particular smell, like that of damp laundry that had been left in a washing machine or a closed room with no ventilation for too long. While she noted they would check the room, I found the complete lack of empathy or a simple "sorry for the inconvenience" highly unprofessional. It really didn’t seem to matter to her that a guest had a horrible night of sleep that could have been easily prevented by keeping the room’s air and the textiles smelling fresh, and having a mosquito net installed on the windows if mosquitos are frequent in the area.
