This was the cutest place to stay! Everything was so wonderful and everything we needed was available. The location is great and right by restaurants and shops. I had a great one night stay in Iceland and this was the perfect place. The host are very nice and even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport which saved me the headache of catching a bus. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here on our last day in Iceland before our flight home and it was perfect. We’ve been “living” out of a camper van the past week so it was nice having a relaxing place to stay in. The owners were nice enough to let us in a little earlier and gave us good dining recommendations as well as have a taxi ready for us the morning of our flight. Overall 5/5.

When we arrived Katren greeted us warmly. We loved the warm touches in our cozy room. She gave us tips and directions for restaurants.I especially loved the hot tub after an all day tour. There's plenty of shops nearby. She treated us like family. We needed to find a laundromat,she offered to do the laundry for us wich was very kind. There's more I would like to see of Iceland, I hope to return and stay there again.I highly recommend.

Booking Problem, Ended Up at Different Property Owned by Host
We did not end up staying in the Garden Studio, as there were other guests there upon our arrival for check-in.
We hadn't contacted the host prior to arrival, as a couple days before check-in, we recieved excellent, detailed instructions for how to access the unit on our date of arrival. The host came out to meet us as we were trying to figure out what to do next, after there was no key in the lockbox we accessed, per the check-in instructions. The host had left a voicemail and sent a message via VRBO the day of check-in, however, I didn't have an international phone plan so did not have access to check these messages before our arrival (was using wifi to check in and coordinate lodging throughout the trip). Although we had confirmation of our booking, had paid, and recieved the check-in information, she cited a system error that must have allowed a double-booking that she hadn't caught prior to that day.
She took us across the street to another property. Since it was already late and we had an early flight, we went with it and figured it would suffice. While trying to get situated, we realized there was no power to half the unit (bathroom and bedroom) and that the WiFi wasn't working. We also were not able to lock the door, so had to leave it open for the night (this was likely operator error, but didn't feel great staying in an unlocked place and would have appreciated instructions for how to use the lock, either left in the unit or demonstrated when we arrived). We messaged the owner (granted, it was late by this time) and did not receive a message back until the following day, when we were already back home. This message said there was a noticeable fuse box in the unit we should have seen and tried. It doesn't seem unreasonable to us that there would be working electricity upon check-in.
In the unit we ended up in, we did not see usable amenities such as a hot tub that were part of the original listing.
Based on our experience, we would find a different place to stay next time in Keflavik. The host was friendly, but this was a stressful way to end our trip in Iceland and frustrating to have paid for one thing and then recieved another, which didn't meet the needs of what we were looking for. Katrin seems like a good host, so if this looks like it may suit your needs, it could be an option to consider. But, we'd encourage explicit communication prior to arrival to know what you're getting and hopefully avoid the experience we had.

Outstanding little place. The host was very gracious. The property was really cool with little bits of artsy stuff all over the backyard garden. The amenities were plentiful. A discount at 3 different restaurant s within walking distance. 10/10 Would and will stay there again.

Beautiful Property!
We stayed at this property our first night in Iceland. The property is beautiful and we loved the hot tub and patio areas. It’s also in a great location in Keflavik, we enjoyed walking around the cute downtown area and taking pictures.

Spacious and romantic, best value in Keflavik!
Our family of five stayed for two nights at the Little White Castle, we could have stayed a week without leaving the premises! The owner is very much in-touch and knowledgeable and accomodating, we were invited to pick fresh lettuce from her amazing garden, and she helped us to settle our travel-weary bones by offering advice and making arrangements. Probably not the best place for young children or elderly folks, but the photos do not do it justice, especially if you are a family with teenage girls or young couples travelling together! Beware! If you book a stay you may not want to leave!

LWC was our favorite place to stay at in Iceland
Katy was such a great hostess, she let us arrive a whole day early and drove several hours to accommodate our early arrival. The place was clean and spacious. We loved the backyard and hot tub. The kitchen was perfect for cooking for our family. We had tons of room. The kids loved the gameboy, too. We loved the uniqueness of the place and the location was so close to Blue Lagoon, harbour, airport and other tourist spots. Great place. I highly recommend this place.

Fairytale paradise :)
The little White Castle is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are all full of wonderful things, from the beautiful glassware in the lounge to the disco ball in the bathroom. The garden was the perfect, snowy play area for the kids (and adults!). Katrin showed us where the local shops and restaurants were and lent us her sat nav. She couldn't have done more to help and was a truly lovely host. I would highly recommend a visit to the little White Castle to make your trip to Iceland truly magical. I'm sure we will be back!

ECLECTICLY DELIGHTFUL AND AUTHENTIC
A huge thank you to Katrin for all of your help and support while we stayed in your very unique Little White Castle! I took a girls only trip out of the country for my first time and Katrin could not have been more helpful. We were picked up by her service from the airport and brought back to Katrins home for a taste of Iceland. She had a wonderful spread of breads, cheeses and Icelandic yogurt waiting. She escorted me to the bank where she helped me through my transactions even though my cc companies originally declined them based on my location. I was panicking, she wasn't! Then took us to the local grocery store and showed us around so we could get our bearings on what we would need at the house. She helped me rent a car and allowed us to use her GPS because she knew I needed it far more than she did! The location of the property wasn't the most ideal for what we were looking for because everything was a pretty far drive so having a car was a must. However, being a few minutes away from the airport when we had to leave early in the morning and partied too long the night before worked out to be a major advantage. I found Katrin to be an amazing hostess and was our keeper. She looked out for us and made sure we were always on the right track to get the most out of our stay. Her quarters where attached to ours but she stayed to herself unless she was needed. I didn't even realize she lived at the same little house until day 2. I can't leave this message without compliment my favorite sanctuary which was the garden and fire place. We had a lot of good memories at this house! Thank you Katrin so much for your outstanding hospitality. Also, if you are renting a car in Iceland, make sure you get fully covered. I unfortunately had an incident the last day of our trip and it ended up costing me. (someone ran into my parked car) Katrin and her wonderful neighbor & husband, who worked for Hertz, helped me get a new vehicle and a police report together. I was very fortunate to have all of their assistance in that matter! She was a great stress diffuser for me and laughed at my anxieties :)

very welcoming host in a good location
First it's hard to beat a location so close to the airport less than 10 minutes drive. Katrin was there to meet us and greet, and showed us around the house so we are familiar with everything. Something that she didn't have to do but did anyway, she took us to the grocery store so we can get our supplies and with recommandation on what we should try etc.. go for lamb and Skyr yogurt! It is true that food can be expensive in Iceland, so as gasoline... $20usd for a pound of bacon and $2 a liter for gas. this is a shock for any north american tourists!
the house is very well appointed, with a lot of personalize flair throughout. everything you need to cook. enjoy the hottub in the backyard while waiting to catch a glimpse of the northern lights! they also provide with a GPS with pre-programmed destinations to visit so if you are staying there, don't rent one from the car rental company! they also provide you with a prepaid basic cell phone to call in case of emergency.
we were 3 adults traveling and that was plenty of space for all. only minor details for us, but could be a bigger one for a bigger family, even if there's space for 6 or more people, there's only 1 bathroom with shower/ large bath tub, so if everyone needs a morning shower, you might need to work on a schedule!
Overall we would return to this location if we revisiting Iceland in the area,with a couple hours drive you have many of the top attraction to visit on your first trip. we had a busy schedule and will need to return to visit the other places we couldn't fit in the schedule!
tip for sightseeing: rent a car, don't do the bus tours. you can stop anywhere you want, small places out of reach on bus tours, leave early in the morning; we left at 7am, and we have seen Gullfoss and geyser by 11am, before the "rush" of bus tour, so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! Pack layers, you can see sun, cloud, fog, rain, snow in the same day..... typical!

Amazing Host!
We were a group of 5 friends travelling Iceland, we spent our first two nights at the Little White Castle in Reykjanesbar. Katrin was the most accommodating host we have ever had while travelling! Upon our arrival she had picked up some fresh bread and prepared an Icelandic Breakfast! Furthermore, throughout our stay she assisted us with navigating Iceland, planning activities, and recommending places to eat!
We hope to come back and explore again soon!

WOW! A GREAT PLACE
My family and I...5 of us..stayed at the The Little White Castle for 4 days. What a wonderful place to stay. It has everything anyone could need to be extremely comfortable. Katy was just fantastic and extremely helpful. We rented a car from the airport...KEF..and it was very easy to find. The rooms are big and everything you would need in the kitchen was there for our use. The beds are big and comfy. There were TVs in all of the bedrooms but we were so tired when returning home we never got to see anything on them. Since this was a February stay we never got to use the hot tub. The main bathroom is huge with a jacuzzi type tub and a shower that is fantastic. The LWC is located off the main road that takes you Reykjavik and beyond. Reykjavik is only about 30-40 minutes away but worth the trip. Lots of nice restaurants for any kind of taste..Icelandic, French, Italian, English or American. I definitely recommend The Little White Castle and this comes from someone who also has a rental on VRBO so I know what to look for.

Wonderful stay!
The Little White Castle had everything we needed for a wonderful one week stay with our two year old daughter. The house is well appointed and super cute (even included a stroller). The hot tub in the beautiful garden was a huge plus. The owner was extremely giving of her time and helped plan our itinerary as I had little time to research a plan prior to our visit. With daily car trips and a one-day airplane trip to the north (Akureyri), we were able to see almost all the top attractions in Iceland without having to pack/unpack and sleep at a different hotel every night; very helpful with the young child.

Lovely home, great for our family vacation!
Thanks to Katy and Thorsteinn for their warm welcome and for use of their lovely home. The house was perfect for our family of 5--beautiful garden, and everything we needed to be comfortable. The home is nicely decorated, the hot tub is a nice perk, and the kitchen was well equipped to be able to cook for our children. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom (soaking tub and steam shower) was lovely. Keflavik is a quaint town with nice little shops, restaurants, and cafes; best of all, an easy drive to the airport, which was great for us with young children and an early departing flight. You are still close enough for an easy drive to Reykjavik [we went twice] and many attractions in western Iceland. If you are going to Iceland, I highly recommend this home! Katy was so helpful with a few questions I had for planning our trip. Thanks again Katy and Thorsteinn for your hospitality and the info once we arrived!

I would like to take the opportunity to highly recommend the Little White Castle to anyone looking for lodging in Keflavik! I was so fortunate to find a room in a last-minute situation, especially since the Little White Castle is so close to the airport, its very convenient. I experienced great customer service with immaculate room and bedding. I would happily recommend the Little White Castle to any traveling friends or family, especially because it is very close to the coast, where restaurants and nightlife is located. I enjoyed a very cool and unique stay at the Little White Castle, something I very much look forward to doing again!

Lovely Castle for restful vacation
The house is snugly and with candlelight romantic,
the big bathroom like a wellness area (with sauna),
in the kitchen is all well arranged for a 5 star cook,
after short walk are also professional cooks in recommended restaurants available.
the nice garden is the stage for bird spectacle.
In the area are places for amazement (looks like pictures from post card but with sound and smell),
for walking, for relaxing (wonderful Blue Lagoon).
The best is the good soul of the house, coming from the kindness, helpfulness and hospitableness of the owners.

Amazing Stay!
My stay in Katy's home was absolutely incredible. The castle is unique in so many ways and was clearly put together by extremely creative people. You could spend countless hours just admiring the inside artwork and architecture. The inside shower was the best shower I had ever taken in my life (lots of water comes down from a big overhead shower head, its doubles as a steam room, and its hand created with volcanic rock). Katy is also an amazing person who picked me up from the airport, showed me around the town, and even made me food! The place itself is walking distance to the local town strip of shops and bars too. You cannot go wrong by staying here.
