The Bird House was very well set up for the four couples on our weekend away, with four double bedrooms and two with ensuites, as well as a general bathroom. The kitchen, dining and lounge areas were very spacious. The outlook was terrific.
The house was a short walk to the hot springs, and the town was also walkable.
The one disappointing aspect was the heating, which could not cope with the cold temperatures (1 Celsius overnight). When we reported that the house had been very cold overnight and that the heating was not sufficient, we were initially disappointed to be told that the firewood provided was a ‘starter pack’ and we needed to buy our own wood. That may have been reasonable if the split systems were effective, but they could not cope.
However, we were subsequently provided with additional heaters and more wood, which enabled us to cope much better with the cold temperatures.
During the day, with the sun shining through the large windows, the temperature was very comfortable.
Overall, the Bird House was lovely and would be great at warmer times of the year, or with more effective heating.

excellent location with great view of nature and a great to star gazing. loads of games to entertain the children, Apple TV. love the deck and balcony and it’s a pity when we visited fire van in place and we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit! kitchen was complete with various gadgets.
