Beautiful Getaway - Right on the Lake-Close to Skiing
About this house rental
Located in Copake Lake, this charming house for $236 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Beautiful 2 bedroom (plus attic loft) home brings contemporary living to this hidden gem just 2 hours from NYC. We gutted the house completely incorporating modern amenities like a stainless steel kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood bamboo flooring and a large deck to enjoy the view of the pond just steps away. Relax in the living room watching the fire or the flat screen TV or just looking out the picture window to see the fish jumping in the pond right outside . Shmooze in the kitchen or at the dining room table just steps from the sliding doors taking you out on the deck to dine al fresco. Walk down the dock just steps from the house to swim in the refreshing pond or use our kayaks or pedal boat for a leisurely paddle. Our home is a great place for all seasons; watch the leaves change in fall, the flowers bloom in spring, close to skiiing in winter and lots of water fun in the summer. Not to mention the close proximity to the Berkshires and all it has to offer. 2 hours from NYC makes this an easy drive just to get away after a hard week at work. The house is located directly on Robinson Pond; we have a tandem kayak, a single kayak and a pedal boat available for your use. The house is 30 miles from Tanglewood, close to Jacob's Pillow, a short drive to Bash Bish Falls. This location is ideally situated close to NY as well as to the Berkshires plus hiking, skiing and swimming. Close to Catamount and Butternut ski areas..

One hour commute to be closer to skiing. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. This location is quiet and picturesque and would be an ideal location for hitting the slopes at Catamount or Butternut ski areas. Also, an ideal place for the summer overlooking a lake.

My partner and I had an amazingly relaxing stay 2 weeks ago. Ilana was wonderful! She replied quickly to all my messages and was able to accommodate our early check-in needs.
The house was warm and cozy. Very clean with all of the supplies you need for a long weekend.
Outdoor space was just enough for what we needed. Really wish we had a chance to kayak, but that just means, we will schedule a future date to come back!!

This is an interesting place. Although set in the rural atmosphere of Columbia County, the interior is classically urbane with cool art reflecting NYC, fashion, steel and glass. It blends well and relies on the windows rather than kitschy bric-a-brac, to let it be known that one is in the country. No antlers or moose prints here. Just looking out across the lake and enjoying the view is enough to put one at ease. And, during inclement weather, watching the lightning frame the clouds and the trees is incredibly beautiful. Nature at its finest.
The one difficulty is the lack of a dock. Entering the water to swim is a choice between a challenging ladder and wading through a little mucky patch.
Neighbors are close but friendly. We have been renting through VRBO for years. We like a variety of places and experiencing local character. We have never been to any place more than once, except this one. This was our third time here. The convenience, proximity to gardens and mountains, waterfalls and villages, as well as the fresh air make it a worthy consideration for anyone looking to "get away".

The owner of this property responded immediately each time I communicated with her. The cleanliness of the property inside and outside was a disappointment. The owner stated that she was having trouble with her cleaning service. But the entire property inside and out could use some cleaning and sprucing up.

We loved this home! It was a perfect stay right on the water. Close enough to cute little towns and the host was excellent with her correspondence. I highly recommend this home for anyone looking in this area to have a relaxing time with friends and family.

We were unable to stay at the property because the owner did not provide the access code for the door. We arrived at the property which looked great, but we could not get inside.
Fortunately, VRBO was very helpful. They answered the phone promptly and got right on the case. When they too were unable to reach the owner - it was then an hour past the check-in time with us wating outside in the cold - they helped to book us at a local hotel where we then spend the night.
The owner, who was out of the country, finally got in touch the next day at mid-day, but it was already past the time we would have had to check out of our hotel, so we had already rebooked. We spent two nights in the hotel instead of at the property. The owner promptly processed a full refund for the two nights we had booked.

Very relaxing stay. Great for adults. No beach at waterfront, but easily accessable accross the cove opposite the cabin. All essentials are available in the cabin. Very satisfying. We ususually don't return to the same place. We have been here twice and hope to return next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Robinson Pond. The home was clean and comfortable, and we used the kayaks, paddle boat, and beach. The owners were very communicative and helpful, which was appreciated. One suggestion is to have more kitchen items, like pans, pitchers, face clothes other useful everyday cooking items, which would have been more convenient and what we've been accustomed to when renting homes.

We had a perfect lake experience:
Swimming, fishing, sunrise and sunset from the dock, peace and quiet. It was exactly what we wanted from our lake vacation!

The water and outdoor sitting areas were very nice and peaceful. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boats that were on the property. Pick up your own firewood on the way if you’d like to use the fire pit outside. We loved it!
The overall house was okay, however, the bathroom and towels were not cleaned well at all.

I will say the kitchen just had the very basics, we made simple meals so it worked out but something to take note of. When we were arriving there was a slight issue with the heat but the host notified us and it was taken care of quickly. Only mentioning to highlight the hosts ability to communicate and fix an issue quickly with little to no disruption to our trip.
And I must mention the little store close to the house Random Harvest. We had the best lunch there and bought some great local fare (pie! cheese!) for our weekend. Overall good stay.

Lovely stay
Beautiful home, comfortable beds, lots of games, great fireplace, beautiful new bathroom and we especially enjoyed the view of the lake right in front of the house. The neighborhood is great for walking around, and the hosts were very helpful and communicative.

Ideal Vacation House
We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. And the location was perfect! We spent lazy days at the beach, on the paddleboat, fishing off the dock, and loving the view from the deck. Could not have been better!

Perfect, quiet getaway
It was so nice to spend time by the water, listening to the birds, and forgetting the pace of city life. It was equally enjoyable to sit by the fire in the living room and read. I had a special request and the host was kind and accommodating. I discovered a couple of delicious pizza/sandwich places less than 5 minutes from the house. My visit was exactly what I needed!

We loved our stay. Fresh daffodils on the table was a very nice touch. My grandchildren enjoyed the games and the chalk wall on the stairs. We kayaked and fished. Wonderful little vacation
