About this apartment rental
Location, Location, Location. This is a unique studio located one block off bay front above the Rainbow Jo store in downtown Hilo. It is owned and operated by Rainbwo Jo clothing designer Michele Joy. It is spacious with a Queen bed and a double bed, a private kitchenette, and a full private bath with bathtub. The location is excellent. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery store, health food stores and everything Hilo.

Stayed here for a week whilst visiting the eastern side of the big island and loved our time here!
It has a 70s/bohemian vibe which mirrors downtown Hilo and is much larger than the photos.
With 2 x double beds, a well equipped kitchen and decent bathroom and plenty of space to hang clothes it was ideal for us + you can use the washing machine/dryer in the entrance hallway in afternoon hrs.
It’s above/joint on to Rainbow Jo’s shop and staff in the daytime were v.helpful.
It’s also situated right by The Palace Theatre, Hilo farmers market and next to a bunch of restaurants, coffee shops and bars in downtown Hilo.
There is a bit of noise (vans/general town noise) from the surrounding streets but we’re from a big city so it didn’t bother us!
We don’t drive so it was useful to be so close to the bus station where you can hop on free buses all around the island.
(It’s worth noting downtown Hilo has a bunch of unhoused ppl knocking around which is sad to see, but they weren’t bothering anyone or us)
All in all this flat has been a perfect base for us to explore and if you’re creatives like us and looking for and unusual, retro space that’s great value for money, I would definitely recommend! Thanks for having us!

The Queen’s Loft was a quaint little place that offered way more than we expected. Conveniently located in downtown Hilo close proximity to shops, restaurants, laundromat and grocery store. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient place to crash while visiting the island hotspots.

We wanted a location in downtown Hilo and near the airport. This place was both those things. Communication was poor and we had trouble getting in as it wasn't coded to the passcode we were given. Luckily, the store owner below the place hadn't left for the day and she helped us communicate and get in.
