About this house rental
Nestled in Martinborough, this attractive house for $179 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. A turn of the century villa fronted by stunning red roses with an intimate enclosed rear garden ideally configured for outside dining and entertaining. All guest bedrooms are spacious with tall bay windows in front, and matai flooring and high ceilings - so characteristic of villas of this age. The main living area is open plan and offers comfortable dining and lounge facilities. A modern kitchen has all the necessary facilities if you wish to cater for yourselves, otherwise there is a wide choice of dining establishments within a few minutes walk. Between October and April, Martinborough is host to concerts, food and wine events, nationally renowned fair days and physical challenges ranging from cycle races to a fun run through the vines. However it is also a great place to come at any time of year to relax, eat at award winning restaurants, sample fine wines and stroll through the village complete with great cafes, boutique clothing, jewellery, home decor and food stores. We are confident that you will find Villa Rosa to be an ideal weekend (or midweek) retreat in any season with a cosy fire in winter and a sun drenched private garden in the summer - all perfect for letting the cares of everyday life melt away. We enjoyed a 5 day stay in central Martinborough in this warm, stately home. Plenty of room for our two families with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spa was well enjoyed by the kids and the living areas had plenty of seating for all. The breakfast provided was an added bonus as we arrived at night and didn't have time to get some on the way. The villa is very close to the central square (5min walk) and the host is very helpful and friendly. We really appreciated the easy lock up/check out too.

I walked in the door and said wow. It is a beautiful old villa that has been very tastefully done up with beautiful furniture, chandeliers, polished wood floors with rugs. Every bedroom was gorgeous. The kitchen was good and the spa was a real bonus.

Few things like that make a difference. Beds comfortable but when renting five bedrooms even if three couples two rooms should not be locked off

Only let down was the outside, as a few of the chairs had seen better days (were well aged/broken and dangerous to sit on), and the umbrella broke on us just missing my sister’s head! I would suggest a whole new set, regular garden clean up, and new/more seating on front porch. I’d also suggest safety catches on some windows (at least bathrooms) as not able to keep them open when away for fear of burglary.

A great old character house with everything you need for a great stay. Loved the fire and spa pool, although spa pool could be made a little more private given it can be viewed from the street and neighbours. Excellent communication.

Villa Rosa
Our extended family spent three nights at Villa Rosa as our base for a family wedding in Martinborough. It was perfect in all respects. Our boys and their partners enjoyed the spa, my wife and I loved the period features, spacious feel, well appointed kitchen and proximity to the centre of town. All in all an excellent place for a stay in Martinborough.
