Completely refurbished in 2011, this independent gîte (85 m2) with 2 very comfortable and sunny bedrooms (each 15 m2) combines traditional Charente architecture and contemporary design.
New kitchen fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher and other mod cons.
1 bedroom with 1 double bed
1 bedroom with 2 single beds (can be pushed together)
Mezzanine with sofa bed
Living room with TV, DVD player, stereo
Bathroom with shower, sauna and steam room

Everything about our stay was perfect. The gite was modern and very clean.
Though Claude lives nearby we felt completely private and on our own there.
The gite is in a quiet spot which was perfect for us as we wanted to be away from it all. There is a village not too far away though which has a bakery and a bar. Can't recommend either as both were closed when we visited.
The weather was excellent for our stay so we were able to make full use of the pool. It was our first time experiencing a salt pool and I must say we both much preferred it to the usual chlorine ones.
We made use of the bikes that were there to cycle to the local village where we played tennis. They were good quality mountain bikes.
There are also very nice quiet cycle or walking roads around the gite so children could also cycle safely without going near the main roads.
All in all a lovely relaxing stay for us.

Les Souches was perfectly located for a totally secluded, peaceful getaway. The pool was great for the hot sunny days and was a great place to unwind. Claude was the perfect host, explained the gite but then left us to it. Would love to return!

Een huis die is voorzien van alle gemakken. Het zwembad kan je door de ligging de gehele dag gebruiken. Het huis is rustig gelegen waardoor je de vogels goed kunt horen. Claude is een prima en fijne gastheer die je met rust laat maar indien je vragen hebt, direct voor je klaar staat.
