Beautiful apartment, thoughtfully appointed and stocked with essentials. Apartment was exactly as advertised and checkin and out was seamless. We loved the convenient location. If you’re going to Porto, wear walking shoes!

The apartment is exactly as described. The view was lovely and the location was ideal for walking around Porto. There is a Centro cafe next door on the corner - don't miss it! Wonderful warm pastel de nata and good coffee, espresso, etc.
Check-in and check-out was easy and Fernanda accommodated our earlier than anticipated arrival in Porto.
The warm water came out a little rusty on first use in the ensuite bath, but don't worry - it was totally fine after that. Most likely it had just not been used recently.
It was difficult to have only 1 key for two couples as we didn't always stay together for the entire day, but we figured it out. :)
NOTE: The elevator is only to the 3rd floor so you must walk up one flight of stairs. Many people miss this and think they have elevator service to the apartment. The one flight is not too long or too steep, but be aware the lighting is not great and the first step from the landing is difficult to see on your way down (the beautiful wood sort of blends together) and the railing ends before the steps do.
Would happily stay here again on future trips to Porto!

Extremely great flat! Wonderful location. Very large for a European flat- could fit four adults easily and comfortably. We walked everywhere. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

On Sept, 24 & 27 I emailed Marc the date and time our train would arrive at Campanha station, Porto. As per his instructions we phoned the number at least 4 times in succession and the phone wasn''t answered. I received a call back and text to call another number. We indicated that we were taking a taxi to the apartment address as suggested by Marc and should arrive a few minutes after 4 p.m.The Lady noted that Marc wasn't available and they weren't expecting us! This I don’t understand because Marc had provided the phone number to call and VRBO confirmed the payment. She would meet us at the apartment in approximately 1 hour. At 5:23 we texted to see if anyone was coming. We had been standing on the street waiting until other occupants let us into the lobby. About 10 minutes later she texted that she was on her way and finally arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after our initial contact.
The apartment is on the 4th floor and the elevator wasn’t working throughout our stay. No effort was made for any repairs while we were there and other occupants indicated that that was normal. At 79 years old climbing to the 4th floor, approximately 100 steps, with luggage or purchases is no joke! We had intended on taking breaks in the airconditioned apartment throughout the day but we altered our plans and stayed out all day rather than climb the stairs several times. If the elevator is not dependable and in working order then it should not be listed in the apartment amenities!!

We were met by Rita to let us into the apartment. Everything was exactly as listed on VRBO.
Unfortunately upon departing on our check out day the contact to return the apartment keys to never showed up. We waited 30 extra minutes with our taxi driver patiently waiting until we had to leave for the airport. We finally left the keys under the door as there was no other option even after trying to reach our initial contact Rita. Hopefully the next renter was able to be let in without a problem.

Very bright and clean. Perfect location.
Lots of space. Main bedroom had a king size bed and very comfortable. Can't hear any outside noise when sleeping. Both bedrooms are in the back away from the street. Nice balcony. Easy check in and out. Great communication with owner.
I would definitely stay there again.
The only thing is we had a car and the parking was difficult to find.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed (iron, hair dryer). We loved hanging on the balcony with the amazing view and people watching on the busy street below. The apartment was quiet at night and the air conditioning was so nice to have in August.

The apartment view is beautiful, AC and two bathrooms with plenty of space was great! We had some family members visit which was easier then finding a patio for a large group. Wish we stayed longer :)

Great property, right in the centre of the old town, yet quiet and spacious. Other than no washing machine, it had everything you needed. The terrace is a great bonus.

We really enjoyed staying at the apartment. It is large, and has a nice kitchen, air conditioning that works well and it has an incredible view. The location couldn’t be better with shops and restaurants steps away and walking distant to many attractions. The TV is large and we were able to watch Netflix and Prime.
The bedrooms were large as were the beds.
The bed in the room with the en suite sagged on one side which made it a bit uncomfortable m. Also there was no top sheet.
There was no soap in the showers.
The elevator worked about 50% of the time. The woman am who checked us in was very nice and waited for us since our flight was delayed. Since the elevator didn’t work that night, she called the neighbor on the 4th floor as apparently the elevator stops in his apartment. He said this is an ongoing problem with the condo association and they need to get it fixed and to stop bothering him. We ended up carrying our luggage up three long flights of stairs which was very difficult as we are in our 60’s and 70’s.
Despite these difficulties, we rate it a 4 star and recommend it given the size location and views. With some adjustments it would be a 5 star. Keep in mind that you may need to climb several flights of stairs, and bring your own soap and basics like coffee.

Flat is very comfortable and location is perfect. Outdoor balcony was fabulous. Only shortcoming is only 2 wine glasses...simple to fix that. Also elevator only comes up to 3rd floor for this 4th floor suite which was fine for us but take note.

We did not go out nearly as much as we would have as climbing to the top floor was too difficult. We only got an answer about helping with luggage the night before we left and after contacting VRBO directly. Also, don’t be fooled by the one bed but two different bed coverings like we were. There is only one bedroom and one small room that is the size of a closet. Very deceitful. On the plus side, the location is wonderful.

Our accommodation was perfect for a city stay. Walking distance to the best areas. Our problem was the lift was not working and we were told it would be the next day. However this was not the case. To have to carry 2 23kg cases up and down 99 steps was not good. Having to climb up and down these several times a day was unwelcome for people of our age. I hate to think of a person disabled hopes of doing it.
There was not enough crockery or cutlery considering it was supposed to sleep six. Although informed, there were only single pillow for each of us and we could not open bedroom windows. Air con was provided however. There was only one waste paper bin provided so we could not empty them. However without the lift we were not prepared to. Ironically, we loved the apartment for all its little faults. The contact number on the website was incorrect and so contacting owner as arranged was difficult until I noticed a single digit difference on his email to me. I would use it again if it’s faults were dealt with.

Located right in the downtown close to the river restaurants and shopping. The host has prepared a “get to know the area” book which directed us to a great local market. Downtown but very quiet in the evenings. Restaurants but no bars on the street below so made for great sleeping. Air conditioning was nice as well but really didn’t need it at this time of year. Beautiful apartment and beautiful view. 2 great bedrooms and bathrooms. We Would stay there again and would recommend to family and friends.

This property has an excellent location to everything we wanted to see and experience in Porto. It was a short walk to/from the Sao Bento train station for train arrivals/departures and short walk down to the Duoro River waterfront. The Luis 1 Bridge at the riverfront makes for an easy walking river cross to the port wineries.
There were many great restaurants within a block of the apartment.
Host communication both pre-arrival and during our stay was excellent and prompt. The arrival process was simple. We just called on arrival at Sao Bento and were met at the apartment right as we arrived.
The apartment was as advertised, very clean, updated and had a great cathedral view. The only thing we would note is that you do need to take 1 flight of stairs up after exiting the elevator to access the unit.
We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay Marc!

We were very pleased with the property’s location walking distance from the train and any other transit. Great view of Porto. The patio is fantastic for people watching and feeling the energy of the city. The location of the bedrooms offered a peaceful night sleep.

Perfect location with an amazing view of the city. Absolutely amazing to be a short walk from the water and there’s an amazing Pasteis place right around the corner that’s just splendid. Fernanda was an amazing host, one of my friends left his headphones in the apartment as we checked out and she ran after us in the train station to make sure he got it! 11/10, would highly recommend and stay again

We stayed for a week at Marc's apartment and couldn't have been more pleased. Centrally located within walking distance of everything, this top floor apartment has a great balcony and all the amenities one needs. We found it very comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended.

Beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood near the heart of the city. Close to cathedrals, restaurants, Douro river, supermarket around the corner, and the best coffee and custard tart in the world downstairs on the corner.
