About this cottage rental

Situated in Dysart and Others, this attractive cottage for $372 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Are you thinking that you might a retreat and would enjoy a quiet week at a lovely cottage? Well we might have an option for you to consider. Our cottage is very special to us and we want to share it. It will be available for selected weeks throughout the year. It is located on a small lake in Haliburton. We share the lake with only 25 other cottages and are fortunate to be at the end, next to crown land. Other than the 26 lots on the lake, we are surrounded by crown land and beautiful walking trails. The cottage has five bedrooms and three fire places. It is filled with family treasures, ( at least to us ) . The lake is ideal for swimming and canoeing. The cottage is quite secluded and very private. It is spacious enjoy for a family to spread out and find their own private space to relax, read, watch a movie. The cottage has five bedrooms, three washrooms and three fireplaces. We are interested in renting to families or individuals who what a relaxing place to retreat to. We are not interested in renting to large groups . Our neighbours enjoy their privacy and quiet surroundings and we do and expect the same. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. There is a washer and dryer available but we ask that you use it minimally. The cottage is filled with games and books to be enjoyed. It will remind you of a home that has many memories for the children that have spent their childhood there. There is a dock for your enjoyment and safe swimming for young children. With a south west exposure, you will enjoy the afternoon sun on the dock, with not another cottage in site. There are lots of things to see and experience in the surrounding Area. The cottage is situated half way between the town of Haliburton, where you can enjoy the Haliburton School of Fine Arts and Bancroft. Algonquin Park is a short drive away.

This cottage is so cozy with lots of room. The owner David was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful if when we reached out. When you want that real cottage feel og a log cabin with multiple real wood fireplaces - this is the place. The fireplace in the living room is massive and a stunning center piece for the family to gather. We played games, watched movies and sat around laughing and telling stories mostly un this room. It was a nice vaulted ceiling and very open with room in the seating area right next to the living room. It was also amazing having a real wood fire going in the dining room during brunch and dinner. We ALL slept really really well at night in the bed as well (don't forget your own sheets though). The back deck is a great size for gathering as well. We enjoyed playing a corn hole game out there. We loved this cottage for our Mom's 70th birthday weekend and we will certainly be returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barnes family cottage. They cottage itself had a perfect layout for hosting multiple families as their were different quiet spaces for sleeping. The lake was so quiet and still and having no other cottages across the water from you makes you feel like you’re in your own little slice of paradise. The cottage was clean when we arrived and David was quick to reply to any questions we had. What a gem of a space, we hope to be back next year.

Our group of 7 stayed for a week in August 2013 and we were all amazed! Such beautiful views inside and out. Very private with lots of property to roam. It was a pleasure dealing with David and spending our time at his wonderful cottage! Hoping to stay again! :)

We spent a very nice long weekend at the Barnes cottage in late September. It was a little further from Toronto than we had initially wanted to go (about a 3 hr drive) but we liked the look of it so much that we decided it would be worth it, and we were not disappointed. This cottage is lovely and unique, full of antiques and special touches. The newer part of the cottage is large and spacious with comfortable sitting areas, a large well-stocked kitchen, and a beautiful walk-out deck. The two rooms upstairs are really charming. The older part of the house has three other bedrooms, and while this part is less striking than the newer part, the bedrooms are definitely more than sufficient: comfortable and cute. There is a deck on the water and a campfire area that can be used at the times of year when there is no fire ban in effect. We enjoyed our weekend there very much and would definitely recommend it to others!
