About this villa rental
Situated in Santa Teresa Beach, this lovely villa for $446 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Somewhere on the Nicoya Peninsula there is a tiny surf town where rock stars, supermodels and pro surfers come to play. This is a place where the sun shines a little brighter, friends laugh a little harder and life is a lot less serious. This brilliant place is called Santa Teresa and it’s just far enough out of the way to keep the crowds out but close enough to paradise that it’s worth going an extra mile for. We built a very special hilltop house here to entertain our friends and family. This is a very private place, just a kilometer up the hill from spectacular beaches, surf spots, bars and restaurants but guarded by a gatehouse and hidden by the dense rain forest that surrounds it. Of course we share this space with the resident monkeys, parrots, toucans and all of our other beloved forest friends. Sometimes if we’re lucky, we get to watch the whales swim by in the turquoise ocean below with our morning coffee. What a life! Whales and Dolphins: While not everyone likes to go fishing, it's worthwhile at least taking a boat tour of Cabo Blanco just south of Santa Teresa to view the migrating whales, dolphins, manta rays, turtles and a wide array of stunning sea life. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are planning on having a raging party here, save us all the trouble, and please don't rent this house, the power will be cut immediately, police will be called, and charges will be filed.

From check in with Laurie to the quick answers of the owner, this has been one of our best vacation locations ever. This was rainy season and we only had 2-3 rainy days out of 15.
The proximity of the beaches and activities were perfect. Believe me you need a 4X4 to climb that mountain and yes you might think your going the wrong way but when you arrive at this little oasis you will know it was worth it.
Laurie will help with all the activities and to be honest we did some of the best activities we have ever done on trips, a 2 hour horseback ride on a ranch, through rivers, on the beach, just breathtaking and memorable.
The town has great restaurants and are all close to the house, main beach down the road has the perfect sunsets and amazing waves for surfing. The house was cleaned regularly and well taken care of by the staff. The pool well that’s all I can say it’s exactly like the photo.
If you’re lucky enough you will see some monkeys, coatis, iguanas and other birds and stuff.
All around this place is as advertised and we highly recommend it to anyone taking a trip to Costa Rica.

Our experience here was incredible! The property was so beautiful and clean! There were so many amenities- we never have stayed at such an amazing property on vacation- driveway is steep so 4x4 is needed- especially if it rains! We would definitely stay here again!!

My wife, 10 yo and I stayed for 8 nights at the tail end of a 1 month sabbatical in CR and absolutely loved La Luxuria and highly recommend! Wow - everything was just as Sanjiv indicated and other reviews noted. Laurie, the property manager/concierge, was super helpful and went above and beyond to help arrange tours and rentals. The house and pool though are truly spectacular and are just far enough from the the busier main road (up a steep hill requiring 4wd and a little meddle, but just for the first up/down) to feel like you're nestled alone on a hilltop away from everything, with howler monkey families occassionally making an appearance and grape loving iguana friends as regular amusing visitors. Very special. Our adult kids stayed at a smaller rental on the main road to be closer to night life, but often came up for dinner and to enjoy the large and incredible pool. We could have easily accomdated all 6 of us at La Luxuria for the full stay. We do recommend an ATV for getting up and down, but it's really less daunting after the first time. We should also note that Roger and the person who managed our regular housekeeping (unfortunately cannot remeber her name) were outstanding! We really can't recommend La Luxuria enough. If we make it back to Santa Teresa, this is where we're staying!

Our stay was exactly what we hoped for and more. Plenty of space, relaxing views and a perfect pool for play and keeping cool. even our three teenagers were impressed - and that takes a miracle these day :-) It was a magical place to stay and we will return n our next trip to Costa Rica!

We just returned last night from Santa Teresa, never being in Costa Rica I was a bit nervous, but it was everything we hoped it would be. The home was amazing just as listed, I actually feel it was better in person and that was an amazing feeling. We were there for 1 week, it was the perfect length of time. We enjoyed exploring the area on ATV's, horseback, we zip lined. the ocean was so warm, we surfed and enjoyed the tide pools. The snorkeling is not the best if you are one that snorkels. The food was great and the people were so nice!!! Loved our trip

When traveling with my wife, I look for two things: beauty and privacy. La Luxuria provided both. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were well cared for by the concierge Laurie and the housekeeping staff. Laurie had plenty of tips on things to do and made all arrangements for us. The host, Sanjiv, was quick to respond to our questions prior to our stay and told us everything we needed to know. Take the advice on a 4wd vehicle though. The climb to the top of the hill is steep, but the view is worth the climb! We would definitely return to this villa and may bring friends next time as it would easily accommodate three couples.

Beautiful house, very clean and well maintained. No problems with any anything while there. If you want a great ocean view in a quiet area with privacy La Luxuria would be the place. I highly recommend.

This place is really special. Perfect. 700 meters walk to a pristine beach with barely anyone on it. The pool and vista ocean view were spectacular. AC was cold and the beds were very comfortable. No issue at all with bugs despite being in the jungle. Nice ocean breeze. Monkeys came for a couple of days. Resident iguanas chilled with us daily. Brand new very clean Weber gas grill that the cleaning lady scrubbed down every day she was there. Very private , quiet, and calming. Ate at Eat Street, Katana, and Banana Beach. All excellent. Also ate at El Facon. I’d pass on that. Driveway wasn’t really that bad if you’ve done any driving on forest service roads in Canada. I never needed to put the SUV in 4x4 to make it up. The driveway was a nice little workout each morning down to the main road and back. The drive from Liberia to the house took us 5 hours but the last hour was in the dark and we missed a couple turns due to poor signage. Recommend travelling during daylight. Upon arrival it was well worth the drive. Day trip to Montezuma was awesome. More beautiful beaches with no one on them. Book this place. You’re going to love it. I’m already looking forward to returning.

We come to Costa Rica often and stay in different towns and houses. La Luxuria is the only house that we have stayed in more than once. It is a slice of paradise and we will come here again. Everything is always perfect from the cleanliness to the accommodations. Our host was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. Love this place 11/10.

We had a wonderful time! The villa is very private, surrounded by trees, short drive to the beach and a wonderful ocean view. The host and property manager were very responsive. We had no issues at all, our vacation was perfect. Highly recommend renting a AWD SUV, the hill to the get to the villa is very steep.
We all enjoyed the pool, very relaxing.
We will definitely come back.

We were traveling with our four kids ages 5-11. Everyone had plenty of space. The house was so clean. The concierge and cleaner were excellent. The reviews are exactly right about the hill. As this was our first trip to Costa Rica we were completely unprepared for the roads in general, and so glad we had 4x4. Santa Teresa felt safe, plenty of shops and restaurants. We found wonderful things to do in the area. The sunrise bird watching by the pool with coffee really can’t be beat.

This place was a great place to stay in Santa Teresa. The town is small but a very busy surf town and this place was just far enough and just close enough to be perfectly situated in the town. The home is as advertised. We saw monkeys, parrots and other exotic animals almost daily.
Highly recommend this place to anyone.
The owner and property manager were also very helpful and always returned our texts and calls promptly and efficiently.

Highly recommended. Definitely need a 4x4 and I recommend ATV’s. Take binoculars for some sight seeing from the pool. We made great friends with the neighbor cat too. Not sure his name but to us he is “Jones”.

She would also leave all of the interior and exterior doors open the entire time she was there, which was a bit annoying as we were trying to keep the exterior doors closed as much as possible to keep the mosquitoes and critters out, and the interior doors closed to keep the cool AC air in the bedroom. We enjoyed our time in Santa Teresa at this home. My husband mastered driving up the super steep driveway! The bedrooms all have ac units. The family room has fans. The view is beautiful. Washer/dryer are outside…but great to be able to do laundry. Host and property manager were super helpful. One of the ac units broke and they were on it immediately. Also house and pool were cleaned multiple times during our short stay. Thank you for hosting us.

Amazing
The pool and the view can not be beat. Our kids (age 13 and 15) preferred to hang there all day rather than go down to the beach. The house is well equipped and has a fantastic grill. Wi-Fi is spotty as to be expected - especially with the heavy rains we had each night (we were entering the rainy season). We would have liked to be able to hang out in the main room at night, but found it too hot (no A/C there since it’s open air where the pool comes in) and we had to keep the windows closed at night to keep all the little flying ants (or some kind of insect like that) out that had just hatched. But the kids loved watching movies on the big screen projector upstairs. The frogs were crazy loud at night! All typical jungle experience!
The road/driveway up was very steep - you definitely need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Although it’s only a 10 minute walk down to the town/beach, it is a workout to walk back up it.
The staff are wonderful- Laurie the concierge was so gracious and helpful. We were surprised they had a cleaning woman that came three times that week and a man that came several times as well to maintain the pool and the grounds- both very nice and so quiet we barely knew they were there!
We’ve already recommended the property to several of our friends.

Fabulous Trip
This was our 8th trip to Costa Rica, but 1st time to Santa Teresa. It is a great surf town. This property was great and it was even better that we were so close to the town and beach. The hill is a challenging walk, but great for those who want a good workout. The pool is exceptional. Laurie, the property concierge, was great to work with and we really appreciated all her help. We had a terrific trip and would recommend this property.

La Luxuria provided everything our family needed for a fun, adventurous, and relaxing vacation. The house is clean, functional, with more than enough space. The house host was extremely helpful and helped guide us with anything we needed. The cleaning + pool crew were so kind and everything was left spotless. The view was incredible and the wildlife around created such a fun vibe for the kids. The house is gated so that helped us feel extremely secure. Stunning and Tranquil Retreat
The pictures do not do this incredible property justice. Secluded, yet close enough to access the beach, shops and plethora of restaurants within just a few minutes. Paradise is the only way to describe this dream home. Highly recommend renting an ATV to travel into town. Having a 4 wheel drive is a must to tackle the steep driveway leading to this property, and what’s surely one of the best views of the ocean horizon and lush hillsides filled with the flora and fauna of Santa Teresa.

Absolutely stunning views. The property owner and property manager were excellent at communication and helping us set up ATVs and our fishing excursion. I can’t say enough how much I will miss this place and will certainly be back. Pura Vida! As everyone’s review, make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the hill is really steep and if you are an amateur dirt biker, I’d recommend not taking it down the hill as there is a lot of gravel.
