Nestled in State College, this charming house for $700 per night is a great option for your next break. Enjoy our “House in the Trees” located less than two miles from Beaver Stadium. Situated on a wooded 1.3 acre lot, experience a forest-like atmosphere while you are located less than 10 minutes from everything downtown State College and Penn State University have to offer. House: “The House in the Trees” is a ranch home nestled into the side of a hill. A wonderful deck cantilevers off the back of the home with a delightful view of Slab Cabin Run creek. There is plank flooring throughout the home with an abundance of windows providing forest views. As a recently remodeled vacation home, there is minimal clutter from the owner’s personal possessions. The home is also handicap accessible. Dogs are welcome. Getting around: A 35 minute walk or two mile drive will get you to Beaver Stadium. If you prefer, you can drive to Hills Plaza where a shuttle will transport you to and from the Stadium. You are also within walking distance to Happy Valley Brewing Company, a great local brewery and restaurant. Kitchen and Dining Room: The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans for your dining and cooking needs. There is a coffee maker and microwave in addition to a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Bedrooms: Three (3) bedrooms including a master bedroom with a queen bed, private bath, and access to the patio. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a sleeper sofa and an air mattress (Frontgate EZ Bed with Constant Comfort pump). Fresh linens are on each of the beds. Bathrooms: Two full bathrooms and a half bath off of the kitchen. Fresh towels located in each bathroom. Parking: There is a two car garage and two outdoor parking spaces. Interaction with Guests: I am a Penn Stater and live in State College with my family. Guests may be greeted by me, a member of my family, or provided with the security code to the house. If you need anything, we are just a phone call and short distance away.

Had a great stay at Lisa’s home! Check in was seamless and the house was nice! Though there was a pullout sleeper sofa and a queen bed advertised, though it was really just a regular sofa and a queen air mattress. Overall, it worked out and was super convenient to get to the game.

The home was was close enough to the stadium that several of my adult children walked home from the game. House was clean and accommodated our family of 8 comfortably. The hostess communicated promptly and check in was easy.

The home is very well stocked as we enjoyed cooking breakfast both mornings!! We enjoyed the welcome charcuterie board our first night that our host provided! We did have a difficult time trying to regulate the thermostats. Other then that the location and home were awesome!

The House in the Trees was a perfect selection for our PSU Football weekend. The house has all of the amenities that you need and is roomy and comfortable! We were able to walk to the stadium - but if you wanted it is only a 5 minute Uber! I would stay here again for sure!

The home was fantastic: super close to College Ave and all of State College, everything you needed was provided, clean and tidy, and wonderful communications with the owner. Next visit with our daughter, we hope this home is available!

The property was as advertised. As multiple reviews had previously stated, there is significant truck traffic that can be heard from the house. But the house was lovely and we found a great park down the road. We also figured out how to walk the 2 miles to the stadium through the parks for the game. We enjoyed our stay.

We were in town for the Penn State v Illinois football game. The property is a short & easy drive to campus. The home is a well cared for 3 bedroom & is fully stocked with the essentials. It has a roomy family room with a comfy sectional sofa & a big TV. It was chilly so we didn’t spend time outdoors but there is some distant road noise back behind the house. Would stay here again!

Road noise makes it difficult to enjoy deck and stream The deck and deck furniture had a lot of outdoor debris Outside landscaping has great potential but not maintained. The indoors and amenities are very good. Get rid of firepit and BBQ if they cannot be used.

The pictures on VRBO were very inviting. Upon arrival, it was difficult to find the rental due to hidden address. Luckily a neighbor came by and advised us. Then we did not receive the lock code and had to call the owner and VRBO for it. In the ad pictures a very nice patio area and furniture was shown. This is totally untrue. The patio was very dirty with no cushions just the bare metal frames. We did find the cushions in an outside storage box, but they were very dirty and did not use them. Overall very disappointed with the house for the price we had to pay for it.

We loved the view outside the large windows and all the amenities more than met our needs. My reason for not rating this a straight 5/5 was the property's proximity to a road with significant truck traffic. While the trees block the view of the traffic, there is significant road noise at all hours.

Perfect location close to psu where we could bring our dogs and enjoy weekend with both of our sons that attend psu. Less than two miles from campus and walking distance to park and happy valley brewery a bonus

We had a great week dog walking, mountain biking, and walking to dinner at Voodoo Brewery, Maine Bay and Berry and Happy Valley Brewery.

This was a perfect spot to gather our family for a weekend away, where we could hike, but also relax on the spacious deck spaces. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners outside, as well as sitting by the stream in the lower yard. The kitchen was well furnished for cooking dinners, but there were also numerous options if we had wanted to dine out.
