The setting is absolutely stunning and the view from the terrace was one of the best of any accommodation I've ever stayed in. The swimming pool area is really pretty, the bar is lovely and atmospheric the people who work there are helpful and friendly. Its a decent sized apartment too. They offer a free and regular minibus to the town centre and beach. It's a pretty easy and well-lit walk to Sperlonga old town anyway. It really has a lot going for it and the best bits are fabulous. If it weren't for the bad bits listed below, I would have given it 10 stars.
When we first arrived at the place, I thought I'd arrived in heaven. It's so gorgeous and perfect externally. But then we opened the door to our apartment and saw the interior, my heart sank. It wasnt very clean. It was dusty, with cobwebs in the room corners, had a musty smell and the bathroom shower curtain had black mould all along the bottom. In fairness, they did replace the shower curtain when I complained. The sofa had some dubious sticky substance on it and the patio door window is full of mould trapped between the glass pains. There are various grimey nooks and crannies throughout the property and it basically just needs a few hours spent giving it a deep clean. It's such a hard property to review because it was the bleakest apartment in the nicest location. It's also not the apartment shown in the picture. The picture suggests aircon in the bedroom, but the only aircon is in the living room. If you leave the bedroom door wide open, it eventually permeates through to the bedroom but it takes a while.
Facilities-wise, note that the restaurant was closed in September. The swimming pool is beautiful but you have to wear a swimming cap. This is pretty common in Italy so it's more of an FYI than a complaint.

La posizione è comoda, vicinissima al centro storico e 5 min di macchina dal mare. La piscina è un punto di forza
La pulizia! Anzi, la sua totale assenza.
La stanza era sporchissima! Le stoviglie e i piatti erano neri, nel vero senso della parola, e pieni di grasso. Il bagno emanava un forte odore di fogna/urina. Nella casetta, inoltre, non abbiamo praticamente potuto usufruire del terrazzino: sopra c’era un pino frequentato dagli uccelli, che sporcavano continuamente il tavolo e sedie con i loro escrementi. Di conseguenza, era impossibile utilizzare lo spazio esterno. Abbiamo dovuto chiedere il cambio della stanza e inizialmente la reception non si è mostrata affatto disponibile ad accogliere la nostra richiesta. Inoltre, le stanze, gli arredi e i bagni avrebbero assolutamente bisogno di essere rinnovati.
Un’esperienza decisamente deludente, soprattutto per quanto riguarda gli standard di pulizia e manutenzione.
