Liked the peace and tranquility and off road spot. Specifially chose the Carrigallen area to trace our grandparents brith places. My brother and wife, sister and myself and my husband stayed together. My grandfathers family name came from the next townland to Aghavas and we were able to find the family home just two fields away from where we were staying. This made everything special.
We didn't see anyone about, although there was a phone number provided if we did need anyone. There was washing hanging on the line which we thoiught was a little odd too.
Didn't feel the house is adequately signed. When booked I thought it was on the outskirts of Carrigallen. Our Sat Nav did not bring us to the location and we had trouble finding it the first day. It would be helpful to have a marking like a striped road marker, at the bottom of the lane, as it is quite hidden.
