Eco Horqueta

I can not say enough good things about this place. If I could live here I would! We LOVE the mountain, Bouquete below, the view of Volcan Baru from the property, the shower, the comfy bed, the WIFI, the amazing food prepared by chefs with attention to nutrition, flavor and detail, the collection of games we could use, the amazing breeze at night, the soft warm blanket, the COFFEE! We loved about everything except the rooster, who could not wait for the sun to come up! Lol! But our hosts even thought of that and placed ear plugs in the nightstand drawer! The host was amazing. We loved chatting and she gave great information and recommendations. Her mother led a Coffee/Culture tour that made me happy all over. If you just want to know about coffee beans, this isn’t for you. But she talked about family life and culture and growing up in a coffee family. It was precious, and personal, and meaningful for today and for each of us in attendance. We picked beans and prepared them and roasted and ground and drank. We got coffee to take home and insight into how important each of us is to family, community, and the world. I’m guessing this presentation is never exactly the same twice as she has personal conversations with each of us. Lorraine was so kind that when an excursion away took us off schedule, she offered to make a picnic lunch for us to take since we would miss breakfast, which is included. I feel that on some level I made friends here! I am praying for the continued success of EcoHorquete and the amazing work they are doing with the first ever Organic Coffee Plantation in Panama. For those who thought they wouldn’t make it this far, I say HAH! May you continue to prosper and do amazing things!

The road up to the property is narrow and steep…a mountain road. I was scared the first time to be honest. But it was also GORGEOUS! After the first time and feeling lost, I was able to just enjoy the drive. Hint: be sure you have your navigation and directions open before you leave Bouquete, you won’t be able to search it up on the road.

Las vistas, el frío y La Paz que se sentía

Cuando busqué alojamiento en Boquete, vi Eco Horqueta y me encantó todo su concepto, pero el miedo a quedar muy alejados del centro urbano nos hizo reservar otro alojamiento. No puedo estar más satisfecho de haber recapacitado y cambiado la reserva en el último momento! Eco Horqueta es un hogar, un lugar de donde no te quieres ir, en medio de un lugar que invita a la desconexión total (no echarás de menos el centro urbano en absoluto). La atención de Lorraine va más allá de cualquier detalle, y del alojamiento, ya que está siempre abierta a las consultas sobre planes que hacer en la zona (aunque le cambies los planteamientos continuamente ^_^). Adicionalmente, hemos cenado un par de días en el alojamiento y disfrutado muchísimo de los platos. Y también realizamos el tour de café orgánico en la finca con la mamá de Lorraine, fue super cercano y aprendimos mucho conversando con ella. Ya echamos de menos a Lulú, Sol y Luna! Ojalá estar más cerca para poder volver.

Todo fue excelente. Enhorabuena por el trabajo realizado.

Prachtige locatie in de bergen op 20 minuutjes rijden van Boquete. Hele lieve uitbaters. Tour van de koffieplantage inclusief zelf sorteren en branden van de bonen was een boeiende ervaring en is wellicht heel verschillend van andere, meer grootschalige tours. Ontbijt en avondmaal zijn van zeer goede kwaliteit.
