We enjoyed our stay im Casa de Forja, Monte Penedo very much. The place is very beautiful. We enjoyed the company of Guga and Nica - the dogs - who accompnied us everywhere. Helena's Mum was very generous with the fruit and vergetables of the garden and always had a ready smile and kind word for us. We swam everyday in the huge swimming pool. Helena herself came late at night when we could not get the gas stove going. We were able to do big and small outings to places closer and those futher away. We would reccomend this place to all people who love animals, walks, picnics, nature, swimming and tranquility.

Our experience of Casa da forja was excellent and we hope to return again without a doubt.
The hosts are extremely kind, flexible and friendly people who made our stay extra special. They offered us the experience to harvest almonds, grapes and figs from the land and we were offered vegetables and fruits which was fantastic. Their passion for caring for the land, flowers, trees and grapes was great.
The property is a garden paradise and our dog enjoyed the freedom of the space and the company of the resident dogs who were sweet and sociable.
The pool was a real highlight for us, just a stones throw from our house. It’s nestled in the trees, very private and with an amazing view of the valley.
The landscape overall was stunning, and we enjoyed a short drive to the charming market in Mouriscas with plenty of local products and bbq chicken!
We didn’t make to the local river beaches as we found the property so relaxing. BBQ was great, with outside dining table, living space was clean and spacious, occupying two houses which were well decorated and comfortable. Shower was good and always warm water. We loved the fresh flowers left for us in the kitchen!
Our four year old son was in heaven, getting involved with the harvesting, playing with the dogs and being at the pool.
