About this cabin rental
Situated in Cavendish, this lovely cabin for $162 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Our two bedroom one bath cabin got a refreshing renovation! Super comfy bedrooms with expansive family style living space. The beautiful woodstove will keep you warm and chances are you'll cozy up! Bring your comfiest slippers to really get into a relaxed vaca vibe! Located on 5 acres in Cavendish, you're only 15 minutes from Okemo but get the authentic Vermont experience.Perfect for a family of four and we welcome groups of four with a queen and bunk beds. WiFi and a smart TV are at the ready and we encourage you to take in the atmosphere and natural beauty. As it may not be obvious, the brand new couches do recline for extra comfort! The drive to Okemo affords you beautiful views of the mountain on scenic dirt roads. Less than 1/4 mile from VAST trails. We find it enchanting every day! In the summer we are closely situated to lakes, hiking, biking, golf, live music, breweries! All the things that make Vermont so beautiful, adventurous and relaxing! Please send a message if you're interested in our winter seasonal rental rates and dates! Please note: "mud season" which typically begins mid April and can last into May, makes the dirt roads difficult to navigate if you are not in an awd, truck, or taller vehicle. If the winter is unseasonably warm, the mud can come early. We drive a Volkswagen wagon (sedan with a hatch back) year round, but are experienced. In the winter, you will need all-wheel-drive or snow tires to ensure your travel. Changing road conditions are a part of being in Vermont and are unfortunately, out of our control.

We loved our stay! Located in a very nice and quiet area, near Okemo resort. Very clean cabin with comfortable beds.

The cabin was well equiped for a cozy relaxing stay in the fall. Located on back roads, the traffic which goes by the cabin is very minimal, and the location gave us a glimpse of Vermont that probably most tourists don't get to see. We used it mostly as a base camp to drive around the state to find the autumn foliage hot spots. But then when it got dark, the cabin living space was very comfortable to wind down for the night in front of the woodstove. I very much would recommend this cabin for anyone who's looking for a quiet place in the mountains.

The listing was accurate as written. Pictures were representative of what we found. The listing does not show the bathroom, which is literally about 5' by 6'. If you are a big person, this will be a sore spot. Don't plan on shaving your legs in the shower.
An easy drive to places of interest and we found the hostess very responsive.
I have learned to not only look at what you see in the listing, but what you don't see.
I would rate this listing as a 4+.

The perfect quiet getaway spot! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to relax and getaway before a hectic spring/summer schedule starts. It was amazing.
Only downside is that there wasn’t a microwave.
Other than that we can’t wait to see when we can come back!

It was quite nice. We went during November. The power went out on us once in the afternoon due to wind and snowfall, but it was working again by morning. I'd recommend preparing for a power outage, just in case; learn how to work the woodstove and have some water handy, etc.

The home was lovely and well taken care of. The one draw back was that we had to read endless lists of directions via the app messages or signs posted on the refrigerator or elsewhere. And some of the directions scolded you like a child. (I.e. not putting wet towels on the floor or bed "Cmon") Really? Threatening extra fees for not stripping the beds or leaving food in the fridge? The atmosphere was really wonderful, but the fear of getting extra fees for some random thing we might have missed... Not conducive to a relaxing get away. The host dealing with some of those things is the cost of doing business. I suggest you communicate everything in one location (except the combination) in advance and respectfully. I didnt want to have to keep checking my app just in case.

Our weekend getaway at the Little Red Cabin was wonderful! We really enjoyed the opportunity to relax outside in the Adirondack chairs and grill our supper outdoors. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a chill vacation.

This was our second visit to this little cabin and we loved it even more than last time. It's so quiet and peaceful, the yard is lovely, and so close to so many fun things to do!

The Little Red Cabin welcomes you warmly, ready to enjoy off the beaten path rest and relaxation. Quiet, birdsong, moon and stars, long walks seeing stone walls, local bovine, old cemetery. Cottage has all the essentials needed for a visit: comfy couches, chair, local info materials, thorough directions on property use. Outside bench for morning coffee, evening relaxation. Netflix and videos available along with many games for extra fun. Cabin out in the woods, but still near Ludlow, Okemo, restaurants, hiking. I will be returning again for some snow time R&R. Hosts easy to contact, quick replies if needed. The cabin welcomes you and almost waves goodbye. Bring binoculars for some bird watching.

We had a peaceful time time at this beautiful little cabin. It was the perfect place for our little summer trip -- so much beautiful nature and good food nearby. On days in, we enjoyed cooking (thanks to the well-equipped kitchen) and relaxing (thanks to the comfiest couch and plenty of board games).

Comfortable except for the shower stall
Everything was as described, excellent coffee, board games under the coffee table - and only 1/2 mile from a field of clover that gave us memorable star gazing every night. Too bad the bathroom shower is an elbow bumper. Don't drop the soap if you are over 5'4!

This was a great place to stay. Everything there that you could possibly need and then some! Owner was very nice and left notes for how to start woodstove and operate TV. We had a great time and plan to return in the future.
