This brilliant location is only a 5min walk to the Saturday Farmers Market, restaurants, cafe's and bars. It is only a 5 min drive or 10 min walk to Waikanae beach. This is a safe surf beach for the family with a full surf life saving club. Take surf lessons or just enjoy strolling along the boardwalk that runs along a large stretch of the beach. Everything we needed and a beautiful location. Weather was lovely so was able to enjoy the sun and view of the river and surrounds from the deck.

Beautiful house & great location. Shame the property is incorrectly listed as being wheelchair accessible. This was a requirement & upon arrival discovering steps, no handles or anything for basic accessibility caused much panic & anxiety. Please alter your listing! Cleanliness was also an issue -sticky floors was just the start. Such a shame because everything else ticked all the boxes.

Beautiful large home with central location
Our family of 4 including a 5 year & 15 month old really enjoyed our stay in Gizzy. This perfect home was the best location for us and we would love to stay there again if possible. Spacious, spotless, warm home with modern appliances & furnishings. Thank you for an enjoyable stay from start to finish. And thank you for the wonderful bottle of local wine!

Lovely warm house
House was very comfortable. Great size rooms and bathrooms.
Kitchen is lovely but lacks a few cooking items, (Needs bigger fry pans to cook for the amount of people who can sleep there). Over all, it’s a beautiful house, easy location.
House does have a caravan and car parked right in the front, so outside river view is not there. It’s a neighbour who has it parked there so it’s not the owners fault.

Perfect bach for a family
We have all loved our stay in this beautiful bach and will certainly look to book again for our next Gisborne stay. The house is spacious, very tidy and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and stress free was there for us. A really lovely place to stay!
Wonderful communication with the owners, speedy and very clear instructions. A lovely, warm character home in a perfect location to walk to town with an interesting outlook to the river. It was just perfect for our family.

Highly recommended for so many reasons
The house is in wonderful condition, gorgeous high ceilings (which don't come across in the photos), and the beds are sooooo comfortable. My wife suffers from allergies and we were a little concerned about a wooden house, but the house is dust free and beautifully clean.
We stayed for a couple of weeks, so also used the washing machine, dryer and vacuum cleaner, and as with the rest of the house, these are first class appliances.
The location is an easy walk to the main road and shops, and a 30 minute stroll to the town beach.
And to top it all off, John and Ann (landlords) and Anita (Gisborne contact) are exceptionally kind and very responsive.
If you're looking for a three bed house in Gisborne, I can't see any reason why this isn't top of your list.
You'll thoroughly enjoy your stay, we did.

Impressive
This home is all-around impressive! Beautifully restored with large rooms, high ceilings, gorgeous floors, lovely finishes, and comfortable furnishings. We enjoyed going to the clean beaches nearby, and then watching activities along the river in the late afternoons. The proximity, color and tides of the river are totally unique! Staying her was truly a blissful and unforgettable vacation.

We have stayed here about 7 times now and we love the locale and house and furnishings. Very accommodating and communication and flexibility from the owner is terrific. Always clean and a real home away from home. I really appreciated the bottle of wine. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
