About this cottage rental
Located in Lake Placid, this lovely cottage for $340 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Our home is a newly constructed Lake Placid Village Cottage. Bright, comfortable, well appointed home with 2 Master Suites on separate floors, and Wi-Fi throughout. Top level consists of a King Suite with Tempur-Pedic mattress, flat screen TV and, ceiling fan. Adjacent is a full bath with soaking tub. Sliding glass doors open onto deck and secluded fenced in yard. The King Suite pocket doors open onto living room where another set of sliding glass doors lead to deck, grill, and yard. Kitchen is complete with Granite Island, counter tops, dish washer and bar area. Open stairway leads to other sunny level with high ceilings. The King Suite here has a ceiling fan and full bath with elegant tiled shower. This living room has gorgeous, comfortable leather couch, chairs, and ottomans. Smart TV, and assortment of books throughout home for a quiet night of relaxing. In addition there is also laundry room. We're located a two minute walk to Olympic Arena, Public Olympic Skating Oval and Inline skating Hockey box. Enjoy 3 minute walk to Mirror Lake Beach, Play Park, and Tennis Courts! Stroll into village for shopping, restaurants, bars and movie theater. A leisurely walk around Mirror Lake is a favorite of locals and tourists. This walking or jogging route goes right by your Parkside Drive neighborhood cottage. The Cottage is a block away from Bowling Alley, Arcade, Bike, Canoe, Kayak, Guide Service, Ski rental shop. The Lake Placid Art Center is also within walking distance. Attend a concert, play. Check out the ever changing Art Gallery! Free Summer concerts on Sunday and Tuesday evenings at the Lake Placid Bandshell Park on Main St. A 15 minute drive will take you to the Olympic Venues of Whiteface Mt., Ski Jumps, Luge, Bobsled, Biathlon Center, and hiking start points. Whiteface Mountain has Summer & Fall Gondola Rides and Mt. Bike trails. Winter Skiing & Snowboarding is a delight. X-Country trails are abundant in Lake Placid! Those include groomed venues and free trails! A wide variety of sports and cultural activities are truly at your door step! I also have a larger property for groups that can accommodate up to 12 guests next door. Both this cottage and main house can be booked together dependent on availability. Very quiet location with 5 minute walk to Lake Placid Olympic rink and outdoor skating oval. Great heat as we were there in January. Nice outdoor deck for summer visit.

We stayed in Josh’s rental for a few days after New Year’s. This was our first time back to Lake Placid in about five years. Being familiar with the town, we knew the general area we wanted to stay. This cottage did not disappoint! Short walk to all the shops and restaurants on Main Street, well appointed kitchen and linen closets, cute cottage decor. Parking in the back of the cottage, with a fully fenced yard for smaller kids or a dog. No complaints! We were a group of five. Two adults and three teenagers. Room for everyone to sleep and lounge comfortably. An easy 15 minute drive to Whiteface for downhill skiing. Close to all the hiking and outdoor activities one could wish for. Thank you for having us Josh. We will definitely recommend to friends and family if they are looking to stay in Lake Placid.

Excellent property for the two of us PLUS our two Labrador retreivers. They loved the fenced in yard. Location is perfect as it is in the village but has a feel of being outside the vilalge limits as its located on a very low travel road. Just a few steps away from the Lake Placid brewery and Mirror Lake. Will stay here again for sure

Everything was perfect. As advertised it is a short walk from the lake but we appreciated the neighborhood around the house-perfect for morning dog walks away from some of the foot traffic downtown. Love the porch!

This was the perfect location to stay when running the Lake Placid Half Marathon, just a block away from the Olympic oval and walkable to downtown. The inside was clean and had everything we could possibly need, and the decor was lovely. Would definitely stay here again if I'm back in Lake Placid!

Our family of four, with dog in tow, spent a few days at this property while visiting Lake Placid and nearby areas. The house was a great fit for our family. There was plenty of space for everyone. The house was comfortable and conveniently located to the major attractions around Lake Placid. The kids enjoyed playing in the snow with our dog in the fenced back yard. If our travels bring us back to Lake Placid, this property will certainly be the first choice for our stay!

We had a fantastic trip. The property is an easy walk to all of the shops in town. It's easily accessible. The house is as advertised and worked well for our girls weekend. The only snafu was the cleaning people didn't show up before we arrived so we had to wash our own bedding. Thankfully the people before us were near and we noticed before it was too late so it wasn't a major issue.

We experienced both positives and negatives at this property. This was our 1st time staying at this location, but our third time visiting the area. It's proximity to downtown Lake Placid is excellent as advertised. Also, the house is in a very quiet neighborhood which allowed for nice, quiet evenings. On the downside we booked this property to enjoy the outside deck/patio area. Since the nights were chilly we looked forward to using the fire pit on the deck as pictured online. When we arrived the fire pit was tipped over off the deck. I called Josh to inquire about a starter supply of firewood (which we always were provided at other rentals) and was advised to reference the binder about fires since the village is strict. Also, he mentioned that we might find some wood under the deck. Lastly, the gas grill which was moved off the deck also had extremely rusty grates which obviously had not been cleaned or used in some time. I took the time to clean these before cooking and 10 minutes into cooking ran out of propane. I did not see a spare tank and midway into cooking at 8pm at night I did not contact our host. The reversed hot/cold water at the kitchen sink was just an annoyance. As always, we still enjoyed our time in Lake Placid.

The property is behind the main house which gives access to the backyard and private entrance. The house has a cottage feel and close to everything and we had a wonderful stay here. The property owners were extremely communicative and met all of our needs. Very flexible with all of our requests that we had was very appreciative of the quick response that we got from Josh and his mother with regard to the property. They really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

I stayed at the cottage with my wife, 4 kids, and 2 dogs. There was plenty of space for everyone. The house was fully equipped with everything needed to enjoy ourselves without having to run back and forth to the store. Even if that were the case, we were walking distance to anything we needed. The wife, kids and dogs love the whole trip. Looking forward to coming back again.

Need to transfer
Because of its stairs without sufficient bannisters to fully grasp, this property is not recommended for the elderly or those with injuries or disabilities. After arriving I found that I would have to descend such a set of stairs to get to the lower level and ascend another such set of stairs to get to the upper level, which I found difficult to do because of a knee injury. This layout was not indicated in the property description. The owner transferred us to the main house, which was much more accessible, but told us that we could only stay for 3 of the 7 nights we had booked because another group had booked the main house for our nights 4-7. He did suggest that we could come back 2 nights later (which we did not do), or on some other occasion, and complete our stay, which at this point is dubious. So we ended up paying for 7 nights, and staying for 3, albeit in a much better house. The main house, besides being much more accessible, is quite pleasant. The location (of both) is very good, being a short walk from Mirror Lake and restaurants. And I do appreciate the efforts of the owner to do what he could to accommodate us.

Perfect location!
We had a wonderful stay at John’s cottage. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Mirror Lake and Main Street, while also being tucked away on a quiet street. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Our dog loved the fully fenced in backyard!

Comfortable, pleasant stay - great location
Everything about our experience was positive - the owner gave us very clear instructions, the property was just as described and pictured in photos, it was clean and stocked with essentials, the beds were comfortable, ample towels provided, and the location was great - quiet, secluded, yet close to the main drag and a super short walk to the town beach. Dog friendly and and family friendly. We would definitely rent this property again.

Great proximity to town and mirror lake. Property has nice back yard with grill and fire pit. Layout of home is such that pocket doors open from kitchen area to upstairs bedroom. Downstairs is more private. Parking is on the street behind Parkside Dr as is indicated in listing, I think.
