About this house rental
Relax in our jacuzzi, while enjoying the breathtaking sunsets over the pond and listening to the loons. Cook fresh Maine lobster on the gas grill. Enjoy the quiet evenings on the screened porch or sit out on the porch swing and stargaze. This rustic cottage also offers delightful weekends in early season June and late September when the beaches are quieter and more laid back. This wonderful home on pond offers a bounty of activities.
Go kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and swimming. Visit numerous nearby sites such as the charming fishing village of Ogunquit with its spectacular ocean walk (Marginal Way), outlet shopping in Kittery, or arcades, taffy pull and Wild Kingdom Amusement Park at Short Sands Beach. Take a picnic to the ocean only ten minutes away and enjoy the view of the Nubble Lighthouse. Nearby are 22 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.Great Fall get away.Foilage.

Location was perfect for relaxing, enjoying the view of the sunset over the pond. My husband fished off dock. Very quiet and close to all the places we usually visit. Heated by fireplace was nice although we couldn’t lower the temp and ultimately turned it off once we were pleasantly warm. Weather was perfect.

We enjoyed a quiet and fun weekend at Kathy’s place right on the water of a tranquil pond. Plenty of space for hanging by the fire or enjoying activities. Kathy went above and beyond to return an item we mistakenly left in the house, great communication and checkin/out was a breeze! Recommend

We decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of downtown York as it was our first time to the area and wanted easy access to 95 to visit the other Maine beaches. The idea of being on the pond for kayaking and fishing felt like the best of both worlds with myself a beach bum and my husband a fisherman. While we definitely enjoyed kayaking and fishing there were some aspects of the house that were disappointing being a rental. It started with pulling up to a yard where there were two what looked like abandon vehicles that haven’t been run in a long time, being used as storage. While the over all cottage size for our party was perfect with 3 bedrooms and plenty of beds, they were not comfortable. When you first walk in the property has a cute cabin vibe, but as you look closer we were greeted with ceiling paint sagging that was taped. Fearing with all the rain that the pockets of sag were filled with water, it was the first thing we checked. It wasn’t but a heads up would have been appreciated. The bathroom was on the smaller side and the sink did not have hot water, we had to wash our hands at the kitchen sink. We did not enjoy the shower. We never used the hot tub, but did enjoy the fire pit, dock and the net that was set up. We did have to fish out of the fire pit used cigarettes and empty cigarette boxes before we could utilize it. Over all we could not rate our stay higher than 3 stars, with some maintaining of the property inside and out it would be the perfect place to stay. I hope that the property can get the TLC it deserves as it was a great location to stay in York.
