About this cabin rental
Situated in Winthrop, this attractive cabin for $204 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Wilson Pond in North Monmouth is one of Kennebec County's best kept secrets! This private and cozy lake front cottage is a wonderful spot for swimming and excellent fishing. Your children and grandchildren are welcome here! Our cottage sleeps 6, in 3 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 1 double bed, and a pair of twins) and one and a half baths. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a screened-in porch with grill. We have a dock, and the public boat launch is less than a mile away. Perfect for early morning canoeing and fishing, sunset view dinners and listening to the sound of the loons. Herons, eagles and loons are spotted frequently. We provide pillows and blankets, sheets and bath towels. Flat screen TV with cable, WiFi, high speed internet also provided. There is a wood burning stoves for those chilly nights. Firewood provided. The peace and privacy of the spot makes for a relaxing vacation.

We enjoyed our time on the screened in porch which is where we were most of the time. The beds where very firm which i would rather have then soft. My old bones would have enjoyed a 2 inch memory foam, but I was happy. Enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is an old-style Maine camp with a few updates. We were apparently the 1st guests of the season, and surfaces had not been thoroughly wiped of the build up of dust, insects, etc.. There were also some stains in the carpets. Otherwise, our family members, who were visiting from another state, were happy with the accommodations and enjoyed Wilson Pond.

We had a fantastic time and felt relaxed and cozy in the cottage. I am used to a soft mattress at home so the firm mattress in the master bedroom took some time to get used to.

My family (partner, 3yo, and dog) and I had a great time. The week started out hot so we spent a lot of time in the pond swimming and looking around in the water. We enjoyed doing lots of local things like a hike, thrifting, and checking out the local eateries. The location of the house was great, you can get to a grocery store in 10 minutes but the house itself was semiprivate. By the looks of the pictures I thought we wouldn’t see another house but the house is nestled between two other homes, though a good distance from one another. I only bring this up because my dog is a little crazy around new people but we didn’t see anyone during the week. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend.

Cabin was clean & cozy. Second bathroom was a plus. Mattresses were very comfortable compared to some rentals we have experienced. Nice that we were able to bring our dogs. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Beautiful lake for swimming & fishing. A very enjoyable vacation.

Quiet peaceful stay on the lake
Molly was very communicative when we had questions. Bed was comfortable and loons lulled us to sleep. The small issue we did have they made right right away. Had a very nice stay here.

Beautiful pond!
Four of us stayed for three days enjoyed swimming multiple times in the beautiful pond and spent most of the time on the screened in porch reading and playing games. The loons can be heard every evening!

Cabin is your typical cabin. Access to lake is a little rough but the fishing makes it worth it. Would definitely stay again.

Not bad. Not great. I think we were the first tenants of the season because no one had swept or cleaned. Very musty. Lotsa cobwebs. Tough swimming because of rocky bottom. Very steep path to water. Okay place just not worth what we paid. 3 stars.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time at the cabin on this beautiful Maine lake. The kayaking was beautiful and we caught countless fish. Bass over 4 pounds! We will absolutely be back to the wonderful property.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cabin on the pond. We had everything we needed and it was very comfortable. The water was perfect for a dip and relaxing float. Our dog enjoyed the trip too. We are planning on returning next year.

Comfortable and fully equipped lakeside cottage
The cottage was incredibly comfortable and well-equipped. The quiet lakeside setting is beautiful, and it truly feels like a getaway – but nothing's left behind. Full kitchen, fast Internet, comfy living room, hot shower, lots of power outlets. An escape, with no compromises.

My mother, daughter, grandson and I stayed for 3 days for a wedding we were attending. There was more than enough room for all of us. The location was great. I do wish there was a checklist for checkout. I do prefer flooring over carpet.

Lovely rustic cabin
The cabin was very nice, we had a wonderful time down at the pond everyday of our stay. I think my only issues were the amount of spiders and spider webs in and outside of the cabin. There were a lot of spiders! Also, there is a rodent problem. When we arrived we opened the cabinets to find lots of mouse droppings. We cleaned them up but we were consistently seeing them back in the cabinets and on the countertops everyday. I also had a mouse on my nightstand in the bedroom on my last night. Luckily my dog was able to scare it off. There is also the trash situation. There was one small can for recycling and a small can for trash, and it wasn’t being picked up for an entire week. There were 6 of us staying there, and we had a lot of trash and no where to put it. We had to leave it on the back porch, so it stunk up the porch for the last few days. A dumpster is a must for larger parties. There were skunks out and we couldn’t just leave the trash out front of the cabin or we’d have been cleaning it up everyday. Other than that, I loved everything else about the cabin. It’s rustic and simple and that’s all we needed but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Very close to amenities, which was helpful!

Traditional Maine Camp
We had a great week on Wilson Pond. Cabin is as expected. Screened in Porch was wonderful for all meals and to enjoy the Loons. Beautiful lake. Enjoyed canoeing and kayaking and cooling off in very crystal clear water. Close to many areas of interest (Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta) and local hiking trails.

There were nice new steps with a rope railing going down to the water- which made the steep hill easier for my older parents. Other reviews had commented about this so I was concerned, but the owners of this property went the extra length to fix the issue and it was a great upgrade to the property! The dock on the water did have a loose board (that moved and my dad had a spill) but we let her know and they were going to fix that right away too. If you like to fish, we were able to catch some good size bass right off the dock and the loons were hanging out every evening!
